  1. This isn't too shocking. The gophers letting themselves get down 4 to MSU when their season is on the line is.
  2. Glad to see Western scoring, frankly. We don't need any soft games going into the playoffs.
  3. he's been dinged up. Not at all surprising under the circumstances.
  4. The pucks probably won't go in as easily tonight, but I see TCoS. Glad we get a different team next wkend. Four in a row is too much. Stay healthy.
  5. Just tell me where to go and do your thing. But thanks, as always. I do look forward to those.
  6. Relax? Relax?? What about the stress I felt when I got up at 5:30 this morning looking for Goon's Saturday morning highlights and find nothing??!! Relax?
  7. Precisely my point, but sorry I wasn't clearer. At the same time, things like irony, sarcasm, and facetiousness are not as much fun if you have to wave a flag to use them. It was a totally fun night last night; I only wish I had been able to see it.
  8. Nice to win, but I wish this team would just once play a full 60 minutes
  9. Better that than user incompetence.
  10. kicking azz
  11. Omaha about to be 5-11 since the break. Epic collapse. (Don't ask why iluvd's quote is there).
  12. CC has turned some things around this semester. Don't know how, but they have played some good hockey.
  13. Will we be able to get highlights online tomorrow? Want to see the Schmaltz goal
  14. Someone please tell the color guy to stop saying "yup. yup" while Tim is talking. I don't recall which former player that is.

    Quinapiac?

Sometimes a team that wins a lot of close games seems like it is living on borrowed time, but being able to win in those situations is also a sign of a quality that team has to come through when the game is on the line. For one thing, the goaltender has to be good under pressure.
  16. I really liked the way he played against us.
  17. Wasted talent in that program.
  18. It would be sweet if they fell out of the field.
  19. When I think of dangerous teams come tourney time, I usually think of potential. The gophers will always have a lot of talent, their problem is a lack of consistent effort. In a multigame series that is still a problem, but in a one-and-done scenario, they are always dangerous.

By the way, is Berry the blonde guy, the dark haired guy, or the bald guy?

Natty and what--5 years of 10-15 win hockey? If you are trading a natty and 5 years of bad hockey for no natty but 6 years in the NCAA and several FF appearances, no trade. That's 5 years of weekends of having no reason to want to watch them play in exchange for bragging rights for one series. I like my hockey more than I covet bragging rights. Now if you are trading for a natty and 5 or 6 other very good years where you were in the mix but just fell short, yes, make the trade. I'd tread Jerry York for that. Yeah, I know; don't help wake the sleeping giant, but it's only Tuesday and we need some fun around here.

Not that so much as he knows he would have to prove himself in the NCHC or Hockey East before the NHL would take the risk with him.
  23. I don't follow Michigan State, but what in the heck happened there? Such a good hockey tradition.
  24. Yeah, and I suppose it's hard to support a culture where you give 110% at all times while treating any game as less important.
  25. Is one of these nights Senior night? If the boys win Firday, I wouldn't mind seeing Schmaltz sit (and anyone else recovering from a ding for whom a rest would help). It's not like Saturday will be the last home game, with the first round of conf tourney to follow. If if's Senior night though, you have to play Caggiula, I think, even if a rest would do him good. I know it's not really "Sioux Hockey" to sit players to avoid possible injury exposure or to just rest them, but I'd still like to see that strategy get some consideration. Pairwise is a factor in the background, since seeding counts, and that's a strategy consideration too. I'm guessing the coaches will just play those who are cleared to play and treat Saturday like any other game, regardless of Friday's outcome.
