  1. Me too. If this were a best of 3 or 5 format, I'd want the weaker team first, but in this tournament random causes play such a role in determining outcomes that I don't really care who we play or on what order.
  2. If any team is good enough to go deep, let's play them right away. No use putting it off.
  3. Irregardless, he is one of our own.
  4. Ok, so we can say "irregardless irregardless," but we should say "regardless because" rather than "regardless regardless?"
  5. So it's ok to use irregardless irregardless?
  6. I suppose as Sioux fans we tend to think each team has something special, and they are. But this team. Might be my favorite ever. They have delivered so many times out of some combination of desire, character, talent, luck, probably, and that typical Sioux loyalty to the program and each other. I hope they catch some breaks in the tourney and bring home a banner--for them, not for us fans. It's obvious how important it is to them, and they are the ones who are putting in the work and making the sacrifices every day since they arrived in GF. Whatever happens between now and mid-April, they have made me proud with what they have already shown.
  7. Stick salute is one thing, the TCoS is ours and ours alone, though. Doing it after sweeps is the traditional part. The boys can stick salute after a tie or loss if they want to do that, it just wouldn't be a TCoS.
  8. I really like Tim too. His color guy talks over him a little bit too much, but Tim does not leave a lot of room for color so I don't blame the guy. For many years before streaming coverage the Tims were my primary source for Sioux hockey.
  9. After seeing what he did at the face-off last weekend, I seriously wonder if he isn't just a little slow upstairs.
  10. Perhaps. I just don't see JS being ready to perform his defensive responsibilities at the next level. I know they move up for development and more minutes, but he's often soft at this level.
  11. You're probably right. Besides, whining about good things is bad form.
  12. Goal is to sweep Minimum objective = one point and stay in top 2 PWR Split is still a challenge but a reasonable expectation, IMO
  13. I've been happy with the NCHC broadcasts, but I'm disappointed that I only get to see one game per weekend with that subscription, even when the Sioux play at home. I don't recall it being presented that way when I subscribed. It's still well worth it, but mildly irritating.
  14. I think so, but as I recall it was a guy who has never been right about anything hockey-related before or since, so no one paid any attention.
  15. I hope it's not the trainer who's letting medical information out. Friends and teammates OK, but not that person.
  16. Ironic, because political speech is afforded more first amendment protection than non political speech in the school setting. Obviously, this is not the school room and there are other limitations on signage, etc.
  17. True, but, you know, with this group, if they can win #8 with Mark, they can win it without him. Resiliency has become their identity.
  18. That seems awfully low, Sic. Must be a bunch of states with none, because many have two, and Cal alone has 5 or 6.
  19. When I saw him do that on a faceoff, my first thought was "I'd like to see this kid's ACT score." LJ is a fine player who brings a lot to the team, but some guys just have a problem figuring some things out.
  20. That's a fair point. In goal and on D alone, we have some serious talent. I guess I fell into the trap of looking at the scorers, where we do have NS and Caggiula, among others. But this team wins with gritty play and hustle goals. Most of the time.
  21. You're right about Johnson. He got away with one in the third when he cross checked a guy out of frustration at the faceoff dot. It was just a stupid reaction.
