  1. I wonder if he's a good golfer. That skill often transfers to a great short game.
  2. Maybe, but I'd love to have him.
  3. Sure as hill isn't our strength of schedule, is it? I don't see us losing by more than 2 if we lose. Will probably be close, though our D better be good.
  4. I'm not sure I understand that comment--I'd be a lot worried. According to the PWR, they are better than we are and will be favored, especially in their barn and without Boeser and Jost. Or are you worried we will get our arses handed to us?
  5. And I'm sure you could have scored 40 if you'd wanted, being the generous guy you are.
  6. I hope you don't have kids who play sports. We've all seen that parent. I also hope I never have to sit by you at a game. We've all seen that fan. btw Tell us your name and where you played organized hockey, and let us be the judge of how good you were.
  7. Now that one hit home, dang it, Goon.
  8. We may have scored 5 Friday, but several of those goals would not be in the net most games. Most nights, we are not 4 goals better than that team.
  9. I think most of us see it that way, Hovey. To go deep, they will need Cam to be locked in--without that, it cannot happen. But that is not an unrealistic hope.
  10. True as well, Cratter--there is that side of it. But the part of college hockey which makes it special to me is not that part.
  11. It's a game. Played by kids. They may make the tourney, they may not. But they will do their level best, and I'm going to enjoy the game and their effort whether they get there or not. And that's not settling for less; it's just recognizing what a good game this is and how fortunate we are to have this team to cheer for.
  12. For a joke, it sure lit up the red lights on the christmas tree. Must have been the profanity.
  13. Fark it. I'm becoming a gopher fan.
  14. One thing I noticed on the PP tonight is that when the D did get the puck they did not move laterally with the puck to create shooting lanes. Just about every shot from the blue line was blocked.
  15. It's not all UND. WMU is big but they can skate. UND without Boeser and Jost is no more talented than WMU.
  16. Agreed. We should be grateful we have players of that caliber and will continue to have them. We have the talent to win this game without Jost, and It will do some of those guys good to know they can.
  17. I hope you are right. Their weakest link appeared to be in net. I just think Cam kept us in the game in the first and we got some long goals last night. I have to say, though, that I think our coaches would be seeing red if our boys let down after getting behind as theirs appeared to do last night.
  18. At the break, the Hawks will have played 6 of the top 13 in the RPI, a handful without Boeser. At this point, we sit at #6. They have disappointed in a few games, including the MSU series, and it will be harder to make up ground with a softer second half schedule, but it's not been too bad a performance so far, considering the talent that left town. There is not a 5-1 difference between UND and WMU, though, so they have to put it together tonight.
  19. When we go after these high draft picks,we know we run the risk of early departure. If it weren't worth the risk we wouldn't take it. If most people were given the option of getting a nattie in exchange for losing him the next year, they'd take the banner without any hesitation whatsoever. Let him do whatever is good for him. In the UND/Brock Boeser deal, there have been no losers, even if he leaves after WJ.
  20. Kind of agree, but boy we got away with some loose defensive play. We did not outplay them 5-1, that's for sure.
  21. Agreed.
  22. Wins are most important, but there are other factors that relate to the interests of the program. First of all, we benefit from the exposure our players get on that stage, Second, players who aspire to getting the big stage are drawn to college programs that will help make that happen. The only conflict of interest I can see is the drafting team's confidence that we will take care of their product. But I suspect the school is really not in complete charge of whether the player will participate in the WJs--only the conditions we will let them play under in intercollegiate play. Sounds a bit like bullshat when I read that back.
  23. Agree with your sentiments, and it's true Sioux fans are lucky in the way you describe. But right now, with Boeser out, this UND lineup is hardly loaded. I like the team, and I like their chances of getting in the tourney and doing some damage, but the lineup is not full of top end talent. But we are only one game off of BU's pace, I think, and that lineup is full of blue chippers. You never know.
  24. What is the strategy behind changing citizenship. Other than Trump.
  25. But as you well know, Wilbur, goalies don't follow the same logic the rest of the world follows. Other planets maybe . . .
