  1. Agreed. Mike Howe was the USHL goal scoring leader and look how he did. It's like the stock market, past performance is not an indicator.....
  2. From what I've read they switched the game to hockey after the first period of the hockey game. But that was only in the GF area. Here in the Cities we had to live through the longest NCAA LAX game EVER. I actually think Lacrosse looks like a great sport, one I would have liked to learn to play. I just didn't want to watch it THEN.
  3. I think there is a lot of leadership in this year's freshman class. That's going to help right there.
  4. Thanks to the seniors for all of the great memories. A bunch of guys that were easy to root for, and Duncan will be one of my all time favorite Sioux. We were lucky to watch you play. Thank you.
  5. Congrats to Duluth. What an incredible finish. If you were Princeton, how hard would this loss be? Man, this might be worse than the 2001 OT loss in the finals. .8 seconds and you give up the tying goal? That's going to sting forever. Now, will Duluth build on this like they did last week? Could be. They obviously fought very hard to claw their way back into the game. They now know they can come back from a deficit in tournament play against a good team. Unless they are mentally exhausted they may be building another little tournament run.
  6. I'm pulling for the Bulldogs but we were wondering last week how they would do if they had to skate uphill for a while. Wish I could watch the game.
  7. For once my memory was correct!
  8. Was it a game against Mankato where Oshie scored an almost identical goal, where he just hung on to the puck until the goalie committed, then once he was by the goalie just put it in the empty net?

DaveK, I've said it before. You can be your own worst enemy. The offending post had already been addressed by one other poster, as well as an administrator. You should have stayed on the high road per your previous post. You're post is also a violation of the rules of this board. I heard about this over the radio and with your ID I hoped this didn't include you. Good luck.
  12. By the time we got there after the afternoon game (pretty quickly I might add) it was packed and we moved along.
  13. There's nothing we can say worse than the MacNaughton anchor.
  14. Is it there, or is it the instant before Duncan shot. Based on body language and where everyone's looking I'm thinking the shot hasn't been made yet as there doesn't appear to be any reaction from any player yet. They all look tense and coiled still.
  15. The way I see it is the guy tried to squeeze between Blood and Eidsness. Blood has his back to him. There wasn't room to squeeze between them and the bad guy bounces off Blood and into Eidsness. I don't think Blood pushed him into Eidsness. IMO that's contact initiated by the bad guy, resulting in goalie interference, or at least man in the crease.
  16. Oh man, exactly what I was thinking.
  17. Yes, congratulations to all you diehards. In section 104 there is a guy (Bulldog fan) who has been there every year since the Final Five came to the X. He sits with his Dad, a gopher fan. Both decent guys. He keeps coming every year just to watch hockey. I was happy for him, and everyone like him that comes every year regardless if their team is there, and got to watch what went on this weekend. After the game I turned to him and told him we felt he deserved this. He was so happy. He said something like "You guys have won championships so this is nothing for you, but I don't even know what to do now!" I didn't know what to say but whether you've won one or 10 championships of any kind, all you do is enjoy the moment. Go Dogs. Hopefully the Sioux and the Dogs meet in the NCAA Final game, and Stalock finally lets in goal #1 to the Sioux, in overtime.
  18. Watched the replay of Bucky's first goal. Still don't understand why that counted and Darby Hendrickson seemed to agree as well. O well, they got beat 4-1.
  19. You see the picture. You think Security wants some of THAT?
  20. Here's one Gasboy and I put together. Remember that we sat directly across from the DU bench, so the arrow was pointing in the proper direction when looking at it from there.
  21. A new memory from the 2009 Final Five! 11. Gasboy and I held this up from our seats in 104, Row 11, directly across from the Denver bench. Pregame a Denver assistant coach saw it and got a kick out of it, and motioned Gwoz over and pointed it out. Gwoz took a glance at it and just shook his head and walked away. I think he was amused. I waved when the assistant was pointing it out. He smiled and gave a small nod of recognition.
  22. You and I are just going to have to disagree on this. I agree the PP did not get the job done with ample opportunities, but I thought the team worked very very hard and never gave up. They just didn't get the puck in the net.
  23. Not only did the Sioux throw the game to screw the gophers but Sandy won the final five, so it's kind of like winning by proxy. WHOOHOO!
