  1. Yes, unfortunately I was able to hear them last weekend.
  2. I'm not going to guess or predict how many games Dell should get. Eidsness is a good goalie and I like him but he's not perfect. Dell was recruited to compete for playing time. If he's showing in practice he deserves a shot he'll get it. If he performs as well in games (and in practice) I'm sure he'll get more chances. If he looks better than Eidsness in the games, he'll get more games than Eidsness. That's my guess. It's going to be about who shows they give the team the best chance to win. And it could be Dell. And it could be Eidsness. We're fortunate to have at least one, maybe 2 good goalies to depend on, which makes it easier to critique small pieces of their game. Without even having seen Dell play there's no way any of us know if he should get 1 game or if Eidsness was lucky to play the first 4.
  3. The skill is plenty evident, IMO. The rest will come with it. The kid is clearly a player.
  4. I don't think Kristo had a great first half last year either, but look at him now, look at him now. Plenty of time for guys to work their game.

Sorry about that Goon. Had I known that was you....
  8. Yes they did. A couple of glasses of red wine helped "season" things.
  9. Good test for a fairly young Sioux team. The gophs turned up the intensity and there was some adversity to manage. Did ok, not great. Too many turnovers or poor clearing attempts in their own zone, especially noticed in the first period. I thought the gophs were lucky the Sioux didn't pot a couple of fairly open chances early but that seemed to even out near the end of the game. While I wanted a sweep, especially after last night the silver lining for me is that the team had a real dog fight here and the young guys learned that nothing will be easy. PP has been fairly effective. I was making meatballs while watching the game so didn't watch terribly closely, but it seemed like I rarely saw the 4th line. Did I just overlook them?
  10. No kidding, that's just a shame if true.
  11. It's one game, let's see what happens tonite.
  12. Therefore, we win.
  13. I liked him in The Dirty Dozen and The Big Red One.
  14. This is what I was thinking. The teams left behind who still have a little power should refuse to schedule any of them. Let them fill their schedules with UAA, Quinnipiac, RIT, Holy Cross (OH NO!), etc.
  15. I can see this two ways. Either it's good that the Sioux have some games under their belt and the gophers might not be quite ready for D1 competition, or possibly the young Sioux team will have gotten a poor example of and not be ready for the kind of hockey they'll face in the WCHA and be a little shell-shocked at the increased talent level that will be coming at them. Still, I'd probably be happier having a couple games under my belt and feeling there's a little rust kicked out of the gears.

  17. I'm all German too. Yikes.
  18. You are right. Our generation didn't do these things, but we are the benefactors of those that came before us. I don't see that we bear any responsibility for they did, but I don't see a problem in a society making a statement acknowledging wrongs from the past and vowing not to do so again.
  19. I own a copy of Mein Kampf. I also own a book with personal photos and diary accounts from German soldiers and officers involved in the Holocaust. What does that make me?
  20. Not sure I agree with this. Seems a bit of an extreme viewpoint.
  21. I thought they looked ugly from far away but when the TV would be on close shots I had a different opinion.
  22. I think we're going to enjoy watching Kristo.
  23. She'll say they were too intimidated to come out.
