  1. Oh, please don't keep them. Can't stand the diagonal stripes. Ugh.
  2. It's good to see him speaking out. Maybe that will start something.
  3. The more I looked at that I was thinking what if the roles were reversed? What if the Native American was in the position of the TT icon, and vice versa. Would that be any better? Would we complain then? One of my problems with this whole issue is the idea that this is ok with whitey but it's not ok with anyone else. I get the "repressed minority" argument but I'm not sure that I buy that as a valid reason for differentiation. But that's just me.
  4. If there is recruiting behind the scenes initiated by the coaches, while he was still a recruit at CC I would not like it. That said, Hakstol seems to be in favor of keeping the agreement of no recruiting after a verbal so I'm not too concerned that anything went on.
  5. I agree it would have been nice to see the state officials put the Tribal leaders on the spot.
  6. It's nice to see the Herald being the voice of reason here.
  7. Ha! That reminds me of my first experience with this exact thing. Dropped down to Bloomington and ran into Big Chief. He and I are the only 2 Sioux fans watching the game on 1 TV, in a sea of red. I thought Sioux fans took over Sensers on game night, but it's not close.
  8. Ditto all this, and as for Mariucci, from my perspective, there isn't a bad seat in the house, including SRO.
  9. From what I understand, Hakstol is going to put his stamp on a new trend in roster/scholarship management by recruiting a "hybrid" player. In a sense, sort of like the football "wildcat" this 3rd goalie will suit up as a forward or defenseman for most games, but be available for emergency duty in nets when necessary. Ditka would have thought of it if he was in the right sport.
  10. It's always great to have these kinds of people involved in the program. He will be missed, and hopefully he's trained good people to take over for him. I was struck by how, in 45 years, the story says he's seen 6 head coaches. Wow.
  11. Always sad to hear news like this and my thoughts are with his family.
  12. Let's take the personal stuff to private messaging and let the thread be about the thread. Thanks
  13. Yeah, Lemaire has only won 1 Stanley Cup with the Devils in the past. Why would they think he can coach?
  14. Do you have a link for the Herald piece?
  15. According to Russo's blog this was more political than performance. Russo says the mistakes were not Tallon's fault but he's taking the fall.
  16. Have been to Manny's. Very good. Not one that people in my strata can make a habit of. I love to find the nice family owned neighborhood places. There are more in St. Paul than Mpls, but still not a lot, although you can definitely find Mexican.
  17. Not that I do a lot of eating out but that's something we lack here in the Twin Cities, IMO. I prefer the same.
  18. Can we just watch her? Yow.
  19. If skating is a bit of a weakness, I hope we fans give him a chance to acclimate to the game and improve his skill in that area before we expect him to be the next Hrkac. You have to be able to skate to a certain extent at the D1 level to be effective. I'm not saying he's not there, nor am I saying he can't be there. I just don't want to get to Christmas and read half the posters on this forum ripping the guy for not producing.
  20. What? You get groin pulls by turning and heading back on defense? Poolman must be a genius to keep all the Sioux players on the ice these years.
