  1. I'm going to go ahead and not blame this loss on the officials. They are crappy, and inconsistent. But they didn't blow this one....UND did.

Exactly. CC was called with a bogus penalty on a clean hip check. I think that penalty allowed the Sioux to tie at 1, if I recall the sequence correctly.
  2. Hak pretty upset with the team from the get go. Said they didn't play hungry up and down the lineup, and he didn't sound pleased that Saunders gave up the first goal. Said a few guys played hard and tried to change things but the whole team needs to play more hungry tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some changes in the lineup tomorrow.

  3. I agree. I recently had a buddy who was driving across South Dakota call me and ask if I knew where Sioux fans met to watch games in Rapid City. Right then I thought of the same idea....that it would be nice to have a forum covering that. You need more than a thread because locations will get lost in a thread. You need a link to a page that collects all of this, or you need a forum where each thread can cover a particular city, etc.

  4. There definitely was an issue with the sound synching with the video this past weekend on FCS. I've never seen that in the past. I assume it was a one-time issue that will be fixed by the next time.

Unlike KSSioux I don't think the FCS video feed is any worse than last year. I thought it was terrible last year and it's just as bad this year. But it's better than not seeing the game, but I do hope for better in the future.

Sounds like the Midco picture is of better quality, so sounds like something endemic to the process of getting the signal from Midco to FCS.

And yes, it did seem worse after I got our HD TV. I went from watching the games on a Comcast cable signal (FCS still) on a 28 inch SD tv, and suddenly had a 55" plasma TV and have to admit had hoped that the video would be a little better (though I knew it wasn't in HD). So it seemed like the picture actually got worse on the new TV but that was probably a combination of getting used to seeing HD video on other channels, personal hopes and expectations, and perhaps blowing the video up to fit on a 55 inch screen. I don't know.

    Anyway, Jayson, thanks for listening.

  5. Hak is as complimentary of the team effort as I can ever recall, in the after-game radio interview.

    Happy with the effort.

    No deer-in-the-headlights.

Dillon Simpson was excellent, great decisions, etc.

Saunders was really good in the 3rd. 2-3 grade A saves.

Then said not an outstanding night for anybody, but a real solid night for everybody.

Need to get better on entries and scrums on the PP.

Said one of the sophomores commented, in jest, in the locker room that "we don't need the green line!" referring to the big boys.

  6. My favorite game was in January of 2009, when the Sioux put the beat down on the gophers both nights.

My buddies and I make it up to GF for 1 series a year. We were fortunate enough to be at this series. I can understand there may have been better experiences in the life of the Ralph but for me, when I've been in attendance, this is the pinnacle. I remember being jacked up from the introductions/video, how exciting the first period was, and then the feeding frenzy that was the last 5 periods of the weekend.

    What a blast.

  7. I would be fine with this as a solution (considering how bad the options could be) and I doubt the NCAA could say anything about it being it is the state name.
