  1. I actually wouldn't run either (I'd probably trip) but just got a burr under my saddle when I was told what I better not do.
  2. THIS I can understand. Won't steal that one. I like it though.
  3. I'm assuming you guys stand up and cheer when you score too. Can we do that?
  4. Someone explain to me how running a victory lap is disrespectful. While you are at it, tell me why I had to sit in the first row of the upper deck while a couple of hundred of your fans ran right on the walkway in front of me and my kid while the game was going on yet THAT wasn't disrespectful. Don't get me wrong, I don't really care that you run the lap. But if you want to say if we run a lap that somehow we're peeing on your statue....... Give me a break. Tell me if you have some cheers we can't copy too.
  5. Good to hear. I actually liked the Decc in my visit 2 yrs ago but had my 6 yr old son with me. Having the students lead by white helmut guy yelling you know what at me for wearing my Sioux jersey wasn't the best thing for him. Fortunately he didn't go back to the hotel and recount the incident for my wife. Or he wouldn't be going with me to the game this friday!
  6. Wasn't that the year McMahon got into a big fight? I think so. Oh, DHG, please don't yell vulgarities at us in our Sioux jerseys on Friday night. We're going to have our pre- and grade school kids with us. Save it for Saturday, it'll just be the adults. Thanks.
  7. Way to go, Aaron. Doing something about it.
  8. Could be he still has flashbacks when he sees your gopher ball cap.
  9. I think Duluth is downright scary right now. I think what they have going for them is confidence. By now they must know they are a good team and can play with anyone. They won't be intimidated by the Sioux. They'll be ready to play and ready for revenge. Duluth has most of the intangibles going their way. They have home ice, it's probably senior night or parents night or something as it is their last home regular season series, they probably consider themselves the underdog considering where their program has been of late, and they are on a winning streak to be proud of with the league title in hand. That, and the revenge factor after being beaten 3 straight times by the Sioux this year. Fortunately, I think the Sioux are at least able to go into this series in the right frame of mind. Maybe it was only the Mavs, but we did what we should have done against a team of their caliber at this point. Our scoring was balanced. Bo got 1+ goals, goaltending was good. Other than not playing as well on Friday night and needing Brandt to bail us out, I think the weekend was as good as could be hoped for. My guess is the guys feel good about how they are playing and since it wasn't a big battle for the league mentally rested for this upcoming showdown. I think it's a pretty tall order to expect a Sioux sweep. Duluth is playing so well I could see a Duluth sweep but consider a split most likely as I'm clinging to the hope that the Sioux just in time have regained some of their form from earlier this season. Duluth hasn't lost in too long. They are due. We're just the team to pay them. Can't wait!
  10. I saw the replay of the Cooke/Johnson thing the other night. I'm no fan of Cooke, so I'm not trying to defend him. Johnson probably got what he deserved IMO. The 2 hander Paul Bunyon he put on Cooke was deserving of his penalty. The league probably doesn't take into account that Cooke is a spineless hack who asks for a lot more than he gets. They probably just look at the incident...Johnson chops him, Cooke skates away, Johnson follows him, Johnson gets speared. Again, I'm not defending Cooke. But the league may look at that and say Johnson was the big goon out to kill Cooke and Cooke was acting to save his own life. A little over dramatic there, but that's the only reason I can come up with for why Johnson's penalty was so much worse. Seems to me they should have been even.
  11. Thank you to Senser's from this Mpls Sioux fan!! I've been down to Bloomington several times this year. If it wasn't for hockey, I wouldn't have been there at all. Between myself and the guys I've gone there with specifically for this there's a good $100 or so right there you wouldn't have had otherwise. Keep it up!
  12. I think Sandy has the advantage actually. He would well know Blais' coaching tendancies from observing them first hand. Blais would have much less opportunity to observe Sandy as a head coach. I agree with you on the penalties. We better play awfully clean. We can't afford to give them too many PP chances. Just can't.
  13. I felt the same way Pat. In fact, I said the same to a friend just this afternoon.
  14. Not surprised to hear this stuff from Mankato fans based on my experience there the past few years. On another topic, if the word about all the scouts is true, why do you suppose they are all there tonite? Did Drew just send out the word "I'm going to opt in to the draft this spring"?
  15. Way to go Fabian! When we were in GF for the Denver series we ran into the Fabian family at Whitey's after the saturday game. We gave up our table to them because they were a much larger group and couldn't find a spot. We moved to a smaller table. The point of all this is that during the encounter, we were all impressed with how genuinely nice Eric was. Easy to cheer for him.
  16. Game ain't over yet but it feels very good to see the 4th line scoring 3 goals, and Bo getting a goal as well. Yes, it's Mavs goaltending which isn't stellar but we're doing what we should do. Let's keep it sharp the rest of the game and into next week.
  17. Good job Fabian. I gotta get out of work and get home so I can listen in!!! Geez, with all those scouts in attendance it's no wonder Stafford is stepping up.
  18. It's my guess they blow the whistle the moment the net is off.
  19. STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Jordan Parise is getting screwed. He's not getting a chance to show his stuff. Blais has got it out for him. Did I miss any?
  20. Whereas I think it is interesting the word "compromise" was use at this point in the process I think it is best NOT to guess at what the Pres meant by that and instead continue working in the direction as stated. Keep an open mind and see what happens. Could be NOTHING was meant by that. If anything was meant by it, it will be clear soon enough. Reacting to non-clear statements prematurely is a recipe for failure. Good job Aaron and all who are involved. Keep up the good work and let's see what happens!
  21. Yeah, a "disappointment". HAHA!

    ROTY

I've not seen him as much as others but Marvin has never bothered me when he's on the ice, be it forward or defense.
  23. Fabian played when we were up for Denver series and he's not the greatest skater but he had a couple of chances, just couldn't bury the biscuit. I believe he was on a line with Hale that night, so let's hope they have a little magic between them. Wasn't Stafford a center last year? I'm just guessing...
  24. There'll be 3 of us going up to Duluth!
