I was hoping to see James become a solid contributor this season and it seemed like he was coming along. I believe this is a setback not only for James but for the team. Hopefully it's not too bad and he can be ready to roll at somepoint downstream. We can use him. Good luck, James.

Question: How is the roster chosen? I see many people commenting on "Sandelin's" choices for this roster. Yet my impression is that this isn't totally within Sandelin's control. Am I right?

I agree, Goon. I think Duluth is going to be all stirred up. Seems like they gave sconnie a battle last weekend and probably feel like they are coming on. The first have of the year has not met their expectations. They have 2 home series going into Christmas with the Sioux and the Pioneers next weekend. Think they don't want to feel good over break? With the issues that showed up last Saturday night, I'm concerned about this weekend. We better be ready.

I'm more concerned about Stafford leaving for MJ than the pros. I still remember his interview last year where he didn't sound as if school was a big deal for him and he still seemed interested in the MJ option. Hopefully he likes school enough to remove that option.

I watched a fair amount of MN and CC on Saturday (pre-MN goal scoring surge). What a fun hockey game to watch. 2 very talented teams that could move the puck. That's what hockey should be like.

39 shots on goal. You can't blame scoring only 1 goal on the refs or the loss on our goaltender. You gotta get the puck in the net. Despite the what we think of the officials we were apparently able to get the puck on net. Just didn't get it in the goal. The Herald story says Parise didn't see either goal. Not sure how you can blame him for that. Parise had a 90.9 saves% for the game. That's acceptable, even if it isn't stellar.

You can't lose to AA at home.

Gophers are rated #1 in the nation. Sioux have the points to be the #1 team in the WCHA race. However, we've also played more games than most of the other league teams so that's basically meaningless too.

Here's the sequence. Massen gets the puck to center ice, shoots at the open net and misses. Prpich comes down and from around center ice shoots and hits the pipe. He chases the puck down in the corner and Tim says "in frustration" throws the puck at the net and........ Gilchrist kicks it in his own net!!!! Sioux 4-2!

You almost pity AA with all the stuff that's happened to them over the past few years. I mean, when a sign falls from the rafters and knocks one of your players out of the game, it's just not your decade. Who knows what we'll get from AA. They've swept Duluth (which may or may not be saying much, and beat MN early in the year. They have a freshman goalie with a .915 save %. They put up 2.5-3 goals per game. If we aren't aggressive and put up some shots this smells like a team that could steal one. They do give up an average of 34 shots per game so if we work hard we should have our chances. It's no big stretch to say our fate is in our own hands this weekend. We should be able to enter 4 points on the ledger.

Lucia was just mixed up. We are The Fighting Sioux you know.
