Five different schools have won their first NCAA title by beating the Gophers. Maybe #6 next year in St Paul?

My neighbor owns a restaurant near the U of M campus. I predict they will be serving blackened chicken Sunday. -
For all the talk about parity in college hockey, the final game is #1 vs #2. #2 Q has a shot, but they need to get the first goal. Can't play from behind against Minnesota. But they are good with a lead.

This game fits all the stereotypes of East vs West NCAA hockey for ... oh at least 40 years. Western team playing attack, with better athletes, Eastern team playing counter-attack, with a better goalie.
-
Interesting to have Hockey East refs in game 2 after ECAC refs in game 1. Typically a split of east & west.
-
Some of Michigan attacks on the PP - think X and Os - would be great adds to ours, especially the week before a rivalry game.

I actually like Q chances here. Reason: goaltending.

I think #28 - if he leaves - is a bigger loss than your comments suggest. He led the team in plus-minus. He scored 10 goals this year (after being snakebit for half the season), and I think 15-20 is a very realistic target for his production next year. Plus, I'd expect him to wear the "C", maybe most important.

It’s a Friday night without hockey. I think I will watch the hockey NIT. oh wait …

@UND Fan, thank you for coordinating LHB over the years. Every contribution helps. I agree with the geography issue, which makes completion of HPC phases important. (And Fargo is only one hour away, NBD.) We can overcome geography with facilities and the support of the University and fans.

From a friend in Mankato - blue line club member - the offer for Knott as head coach has been made. Let's call that a rumor, to be safe.

@DrunkHockeyGuytaught me everything he knows. And still I know nothing.

Summit League Men's soccer ... last year's standings: Top 4 teams don't sponsor football (aka scholarship dollars freed up). St Thomas has non-scholarship football. The 6th is Western Illinois which has a ton of problems. And the bottom three just went off to the OVC.

Is there anyplace (indoors obvi) on campus / in GF that could be the home court for beach volleyball?
-
Exsqueeze me but I could have sworn you suggested an Omaha-ha-ha-ha player could improve our lineup. Oh wait, you're right.

What's the over/under: For how long into the Frozen Four Gophers game before Bucci says "Brock Faber scissors ..."

This weekend, Scheels Arena is a vomitorium.

I really hate that ESPN puts announcers from a team that's competing. Impartiality destroyed. (Clymer looking at you.)

Yeah. Eastern hockey was hurt by total shutdown of seasons in 2020-2021, and they are still recovering. NCHC? Well after winning 5 of the last 6, we're due for an off year. (Now watch St Cloud pull the unexpected.) Duluth was certainly down, and our out of conference record wasn't as good as we've been accustomed to (so it was more than just UND and Duluth in an off year). I'm optimistic about the NCHC future, especially with CC getting stronger and Omaha improving too.

They earned their high seedings via Pairwise, and as a result got the weaker opponents in the field. Atlantic Hockey, 2 EZAC schools and the CCHA #2. Will see this weekend how they do against tougher opponents.
-
Easy to forget, after Tech loses 8-0, that they beat some pretty good teams to get the At-Large bid: Boston U, Michigan State, swept Alaska in Fairbanks, and split the season series with Mankato.
-
I wish for: a close game in the first round. Maybe two. So far wins by: 7, 7, 4, 4, and 2.
