  1. One thing I forgot to mention.... There is no chlorine in the water, none at all... It's kinda weird! And the water is REALLY cold!!
  2. This is kinda off the subject of TJ being at his HS Prom..... But Brian was at my HS Grand March. I didn't even know it till some little kid came up to my brother while I was standing there and said "I got Brian Lee's autograph!" I was going to mention this earlier, but I forgot all about it until now haha
  3. The waterpark was just ok. There were actually quite a few people there to test things out. They would have everyone "play" in the same area for like 20-30 minutes at a time. I wouldn't say it's super exciting, although it is quite relaxing to just be in there and hear the kids having fun and the water going. The slides were pretty lame, they looked fun but didn't quite live up to people's expectations. There were a crap ton of lifegaurds, which I don't know why because the water wasn't more than 2 feet deep anywhere and half the time they didn't really pay attention anyways. The coolest part of the whole thing was the big bucket at the top of the playground that dumped water everywhere when it got full. I would recommend going there at least once, even if it's just to check it out. The kids will have a great time, that's for sure!
  4. Hmm that's funny... Because Sioux Crew board is going over there today to test it out... I'll let ya guys know how it is!
  5. Well I'm the same age as TJ, and I went home over the weekend for my high school's Grand March. I had some friends in it, and my brother and his gf and all their friends were in it too. I see nothing wrong with TJ going back to his HS to see their Prom. The picture's fricken hilarious, makes me laugh! I'm sure TJ got a kick out of it too lol
  6. Didn't someone say that this place was supposed to open on May 1st? And isn't that tomorrow?? Because I'm on the Sioux Crew board, and we get to go and test out their water park and do "slide testing" for them tomorrow. So that must mean they won't open till later in the month?
  7. I have talked to a few of the guys... The last time I talked to Bruneteau (couple weeks ago), he said he still had to talk to the coaching staff but that he wanted to come play. Frattin wasn't sure yet. But Hextall said he's coming in next year. Hope that helps, but probably not lol
  8. I would NEVER become a BC fan.... If I had to choose between being a BC fan and dying, I guess I would probably end up in a grave...
  9. I LOVE AMERICAN IDOL!!! But I'm a singer (or try to be anyways haha) so I've watched it from the beginning! I love Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, and some of the other Idol products! I love Idol!
  10. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/9608 EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize this had already been posted under the Prospects thread!!
  11. Really long... Pretty much just skimmed through the whole thing. It's a very well-researched article though. PS. We do NOT have a mascot, thank you very much!
  12. I was only 10 years old during The Flood, so I don't think I fully understood the ginormity of it at the time. Yesterday as I was sitting in my room looking for something to watch, I found that the Student Channel on campus (channel 17) was playing a documentary-like video of what happened on the campus and in the community. It did a very good job of explaining everything, and it showed a lot of the flooding in the buildings. It really opened my eyes and made me realize how big it really was and how it affected so many people. I really hope that it never happens again, because who knows what could happen next!! Congratulations to the Grand Forks community for working together so hard and making Grand Forks a city again!!
  13. Yes, you guys are both right. And I don't think anyone will STOP drinking either. I'm just saying that maybe if HS athletes could hear about the college athletes getting punished too (instead of always receiving special treatment for it), then maybe it would cut down on HS athletes' partying and drinking. To stop completely, or to drastically slow down on the drinking, is a pretty intense thing. There would have to be a personal issue happening, such as a car accident or someone dying, or something along those lines.
  14. Feel free to leave comments about the game when you get back!! I'm stuck at work, then driving home after, and I would love to hear what happens! Thanks!
  15. That's great!!
  16. Yeah I think that would be a great idea! My brother was kicked off his HS team just for being AT a party that got busted, and they were leaving so they didn't even get in trouble by the cops at all. He got kicked off for telling the coach the truth about him being at the party. It's too bad, too, because it's his senior year and I kinda had high hopes for him playing juniors or at a DIII college somewhere. Oh well. I always try to talk to him and his friends about what can happen when you drink and party too much. My first semester of college was all about partying and being social, and my grades that semester and the next just plummeted, and I ended up getting suspended from school and am now stressing out to keep up my GPA just so I can stay in school. Lots of my friends have gotten minors A LOT and have had to pay A LOT of money and do community service. Maybe if they heard it from college athletes and not family members, they would take it a little bit more seriously?? I think it'd be a great experience for both the high schoolers and the college student athletes if they did this! Just my thoughts...
  17. I think it's funny that you guys are still talking about this (well I guess I am now too)..... Didn't they get a hockey cheerleading squad set up for next year now lol
  18. Well of course the Herald's not going to take the blame.....
  19. I actually agree with you on this. I was reading an article at www.cnn.com about a guy whose friend was killed, and he said that he thought the killer shouldn't be getting very much attention. He also said he's trying to get as much air time and interviews with anyone as possible because "every minute I get is one less minute he gets." Good for him. I believe the 32 victims of this guy should be honored way more than they are. Hopefully the media figures this out soon, for everyone's sake.
  20. Just because he's a hockey player, I don't think he should get different penalties than any other person. I say it's nice seeing a hockey player get punished for something like everyone else would be! On the other hand, I do think it is a bit harsh for only having 2 minors. Oh well, there's nothing anyone can do about it now, so just give it a rest.
  21. Wow, that's pretty bad! I clicked at the link on the bottom about the other story he recently wrote... I think it's a very good story, good background.... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/sto...ge=swiftcurrent
  22. Ah I got that too... Congrats to the hockey cheerleaders....
  23. There was a bomb threat today at NDSU when a student found a backpack left alone at a bus stop. The guy interviewed on TV said that with all the stuff that happened at VTU, they didn't want to take any chances....
  24. This is so sad, I still can't believe it's actually happening.... http://prideforund.blogspot.com/
  25. This is a horrible thing that happened at VTU, and my thoughts and prayers go out to victims, their families, friends, and anyone else associated with this.... As a college student, this is a very scary thing to hear about!
