  1. I could care less of what people think of me. If I did care, I would have thousands of posts on here so that whatever I said could be taken as gospel. You and others whine for proof whenever something is said that you don't know about. Apparently, you aren't able to comprehend that some information is going to be kept private no matther how much you whine or call people names or tell others they don't know what they are talking about. Hence the reason for my post to help try and explain that to you (apparently you still didn't get it) and to back up some of the others who have posted more on this subject than I have.
  2. Well for your sake, whatever is currently being done is not going to be done in public (here or anywhere else) no matter how much you or others clammor for it. There are more highly influential people than you or me working behind closed doors and that is where they are going to keep it. The way it is currently being handled is best for those involved and best for the university. It may not be best for you or for others who whine that they want to know the proof, but I don't think those involved in it care much or what your or I think at this moment.
  3. I get a kick out of people who always ask for where's the proof. I think part of the reason for that is a little bit of envy going on there. I mean how could someone know more about Sioux hockey, football, administration, etc. than I do.....give me the proof so I can sleep better at night and so then I will have the same information that some other person has been fortunate to get and has been fortunate enough to have the relationships to get that sensitive information in the first place. Let me tell you this, if the people concerned in this matter (Bunning, Lennon, Hakstol, alumni leaders, etc.) wanted this information public, they would have done so. But guess what, this isn't something people want to bring out in the public. It does no good there. What, just because some people who don't have the connections can feel better that they know the inside information too? Please, give me a break and get over it. I've also been privy to information, some of which would make people drop their jaws in disbelief. But you aren't going to get proof from me no matter how much you call me names or a know-it-all teenager as some have called others or how much you or other whine for proof. Well, I guess you'll have to keep calling people names....whatever makes you feel better. But I have the trust and confidence in others and vice versa that what is spoken or seen behind closed doors remains behind closed doors.
  4. I'm interested in hearing your reasoning as to why you think Goligoski is a 95% chance to leave based on that article. The article didn't talk about him, didn't talk about the need to immediately sign their prospects. Is it just wishful thinking on your part or do you seriously get the 95% chance of Goligoski signing from that article? If you actually get that from the article, can I have some of the same stuff you're smoking?
  5. My guess is the reason we haven't seen a decision yet from Toews is that he could be waiting for Chicago to offer the max (or make their final offer). If the final offer isn't the max, he'll be back. If Chicago offers the max, Toews will leave. Until Chicago comes to a decision on what the final offer will be, the fans will be left in limbo and currently they are in no hurry to make any final offers since it's too early in the process. Both sides, I'm guessing, are trying to feel each other out in their negotiations at this time. The ultimate deciding factor won't be whether he wants another year of education, wants to be with his friends and teammates for another year, wants to improve his skills for another year, etc. Instead, it will come down to money. The same can be said for Gologoski with the Penguins and Okposo with the Islanders. Once they offer what each feels he should get, he'll leave...otherwise he will be back. All three feel they can play in the NHL so that's not an issue. None of the three are going to settle on an amount lower than they feel they are worth. Rather, they would come back to college and increase their bargaining position next year with another good college year.
  6. I'm not sure what section to put this in but this seems as appropriate as any since it did happen at the "X" tonight. I was in line at the concession stand and the guy in front of me was the one and only Don (Don't Call Me) Lucia (Pet). It just so happened that I was wearing a Sioux shirt with the logo right on the front. After he ordered and turned around, he kind of looked at me like people do when they pass someone, but then the funny part was that he took a double-take at my shirt, kind of got a sh**ty grin on his face, and looked up in the air like "you've got to be kidding me". I thought it was quite funny the look he had on his face. He was probably thinking I can't go anywhere without being reminded of Five-Hole Frazee giving up the season-ending goal. Good stuff.....good stuff.
  7. Listening to Lucia on the press conference.............he wasn't really giving excuses but I found this a bit funny..... First he said Goligoski had a broken finger, then later on he said he had a broken hand. Come tomorrow, it will have spread into he had a broken arm and an amputated leg and that ended up being the reason Puff Puff gives for them losing.
  8. Someone over on the Gopher website posted this last week. Apparently that person doesn't know the definition of Karma because it's not really Karma getting back at you when you make fun of a team for losing the biggest upset in college playoff hockey history and losing to one of the top teams in overtime on a great but fluky goal. I'd say tonight's game is the definition of Karma for that person. It's called Karma, and yeah, it can be a bitch. Take that Gophers...... Go Sioux!!!!
  9. Dang webcast doesn't work for me........just keeps saying trying to connect to media.
  10. Personally I don't mind the black jerseys. Or perhaps you didn't realize that they are undefeated wearing the new Nike black jerseys this year. As long as they keep that up, they can wear the black Nike's anytime in my opinion.
  11. Just curious on an item if anyone knows for sure. I haven't been able to find anything definitive on the subject concerning RIT. USCHO originally didn't include them in their early RPI and Pairwise calculations even though they were in the top 25 of the RPI at that time (because they are ineligible for the NCAA tourney this year), but over the past month, RIT has been included when they have cracked the top 25. So right now, RIT holds the 25th spot in the RPI, nudging out Mankato from the 25th spot and as a TUC team. This also makes UND lose the 5 TUC wins and one tie against Mankato. Does anyone know the answer to this? Can RIT be eligible for a TUC team if they are ineligible for the tourney? USCHO seems to think that RIT is considered in the calculations but the SiouxSports calculators leave RIT out of the TUC teams and replaces them with Mankato. Right now that means the difference between a five seed and a number eight seed. How can RIT be a team under consideration if they are ineligible and can't be considered for the tournament? Hypothetically, what if RIT had an unbelievably great year and was 11th in the Pairwise. Would they be considered if they are ineligible? To me it seems that including RIT as a TUC is contradictory. Any info would be appreciated. I've googled it and have found conflicting opinions on it but nothing in the form of an official announcement. Thanks.
  12. I'm sorry but this statement is one of the most insanely, idiotic statements I have heard. I'm more dumb for having read it. To me it sounds like circa John Kerry 2004, "I didn't vote for it, but I voted for it." (or however his statement went back then). It's a lot like your statement, "It's not offensive to me personally... I too find it offensive." You just can't make this stuff up.
  13. An interesting point made by Moy this week in his Bracketology article. He was talking about how the CCHA teams need Lake Superior or Omaha to remain in the top 25 of TUC. Both of these two teams are 24 and 25 right now currently. He basically said that one of these two teams will remain in the top 25 of RPI even if they get swept this week and the other teams right below them win. Here is what Moy said: "Lake Superior at Miami
  14. I'm thinking you meant to say that Wisconsin drops from the top 25 (in RPI), not the top 15. Just clarifying for others.
  15. The bonus is for road wins only. The only speculation is the amount of bonus points awarded and there has been good speculation that it is in the .003 range.
  16. Yeah, good one 'Nami. Nothing like trying to be sarcastic and humorous but in the process of doing so being totally wrong. Thanks, I needed the good laugh tonight. As was stated above in this thread, the bonus factor is for road wins against teams in the top 15 of the RPI at that point in time. It doesn't matter if they were in the top 15 when you played them, they have to be in the top 15 of the RPI at the end of the season or at that point in time you are calculating the Pairwise (such as now).
  17. A win tonight can flip three comparisons.....Michigan, Denver, and Boston College. And with some other help tonight from other teams they might also be able to flip the Maine and Clarkson comparisons. But flipping those two tonight would be hard because a lot of things would need to happen just right. If the Sioux take care of their business tonight, they are back up to a #2 seed. If they can somehow sweep this weekend, they will be a solid #2 seed heading into the St. Cloud series.
  18. Well I didn't want to be left out on an island by myself. I didn't think I had that much power to stop someone from posting with as few posts as I have made in the past. Sorry, you're the only one that could come to mind that likes to live on the edge at times with his posts. Post 58........dang this posting thing is easy when that's all you do during the day. Sioux-Hab-It.....at this rate soon I'll overtake your number of posts. I'm coming for you. Will you accept me then?
  19. Post 57 Just trying to get my post count up. Guess that's what you need here to be taken seriously or to feel belonged.
  20. Well then you aren't looking that well. Granted, I don't need to spend every waking moment on this board and post multiple times daily like some of you do but I do come on every now and then. Please see this link to my previous post....just 10 days ago no less. http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7905 I'm sorry if HakFan has such a quiet and shy demeanor and can be easily pushed around. That's not my problem. I'm flattered that I could be the reason he doesn't post here anymore. I never knew I had that much power. Apparently, I do. Hmmm....now who is next that I don't want to post on here if I have that much power.....hmmmm. I'll get back to you on that one. And if I can get someone to not post on here for as little as I post on here myself, then TheTrouper should have been able to get many people to stop posting by now with his attitude at times. But again, thanks for the compliment. I'll be sure to note in the future how much power I actually do have. Maybe somebody caught wind of HakFan posting verbals names before they officially committed and HakFan no longer has his sources or perhaps he's been told not to give verbals names before they become official. That's the story I'm sticking with because I still don't believe I have as much power as some of you think I do. It's not my fault some of you can't get the information on your own and rely on others. Wait until the word becomes official like most people do or get your own sources and be happy that you have those sources. Just because a person has sources doesn't mean that gives them a right to blab that information to everyone who is willing to read it.
  21. It's not a given that MSU drops from the top 25 RPI with a loss tonight. If RIT, Lake Superior and Anchorage all lose tonight, MSU will very likely remain in the top 25 of RPI. Then Mankato will need to take at least two points next week up in Anchorage and win some games the rest of the year. But by the end of the season, UND will need Mankato to be in the top 25, along with St. Lawrence, Dartmouth, and Bemidji State. With six wins and no losses as of now against those teams, and possibly a seventh if the Sioux win tonight, those teams remaining in the top 25 of the RPI will go a long way in determining if the Sioux are a high #2 seed or a low #3 seed.
  22. First the Gophers went out and got perms and now this. If this isn't saying something, I don't know what is.
  23. 11. I thought for a second the puck was Toews coming in all alone on me. Don't you know that he always makes me look foolish?
  24. I agree also but I find it amusing how much discussion it has gotten because it was Puff Puff. Now tell me the truth, there is some deep-seeded reason why you all care about Puffy so much. Perhaps it's you are all trying to live vicariously through him. I mean he does have a job talking about sports all day, from what I know, really does nothing else....has privileges at various establishments throughout the cities because of his on-air status....has time to golf a lot....and has a puck-bunny as a wife. Now you know as well as I do that Puffy wouldn't have any of those had it not been for Ventura running for Governor (he probably wouldn't have gotten the on-air job had Ventura not left) and that is why Gopher fans hold him in such high regard. He went from nothing to being the envy of you all. Come on, the first step is admitting it. (FYI...before I get blasted for the above, keep in mind that the above was pretty much in jest and just trying to be funny / sarcastic.)
