  1. We all have our jobs to do here Triouxper; your's is to get us back to the Frozen Four. Mine is to turn joyous bubbles of celebration into lead balloons of logic. BTW, welcome back. St. Louis called. They want their freaking arch back.
  2. I don't mean to go all sentimental here, but aren't the announcements these three (and with luck four or five) young men have made this week marvelous indications of the type of people Hak et al have recruited?
  3. All this speculation is intriguing, and makes for great conversation, but looking at the projected line combos here makes me realize what huge holes Porter and Fabian are leaving! Wow! Big changes.
  4. More accurately, I think the team would cease to be the Fighting Sioux if they resorted to the trap. yechhhhhh, I feel dirty just typing the word "trap"
  5. Google it This one has pictures http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/1571/neutrap2.htm
  6. Nice to see the blog with a direct quote from Brian. I certainly hope that puts all this b.s. to rest. OTOH, there's a poster among us who certainly has the official word as to Ottawa's position regarding Brian Lee. I know that poster won't say anything to jeopardize her position of confidence, but perhaps she'll chime on with something. I can't recall this amount of prolonged bad-mouthing of a Fighting Sioux player on these boards; ever. I think most of it
  7. I have a Hopalong Cassidy watch. Think I'll start a freaking thread.

I guess the good news out of this chat is that the Hawks want to sign Chris Porter as well!
  9. If this is, indeed, true, I feel badly for Brian, and I am sad that Fighting Sioux "fans" have driven a wonderful young man out of college hockey. I'll not get back on my soapbox about Brian; you all know I think the world of him as a player and as a person. I am horrified, however, if he leaves because of the "fans".
  10. aleah is very connected in this instance. She may not know for sure; heck TJ might not even know for sure. But there is only one other person on this board who has such a connection.
  11. A buncha thoughts: 1. This was a great Fighting Sioux team. They provided me a lot of fun this season. 2. I don't believe BC was the "better team" last night; they did, however, deserve to win the game. They put on as aggressive a forecheck as I've seen all year, and it kept the Sioux bottled up almost the entire second period. My hat is off to the Eagles for their strategy and their execution. 3. The officiating was a little ticky-tack, but that went both ways. 4. I don't really think the Sioux lost their composure late in the game. I think, instead, that they were flat out tired, and got caught out of position and flat of foot. It takes a lot of effort to battle through the forecheck BC had in place, and it showed. 5. Giving up 20 shots in the second was brutal. The Sioux were lucky to have withstood that barrage. Lamoureux
  12. ding ding ding ding!!!!!! i believe we have a winner.
  13. Ummmmmm, I don't think the "something special" whoosh was talking about is gift-wrapped. And the distance will, um, definately be an issue.
  14. IIRC, coaches who's teams make it to the Frozen Four are automatically nominated for the Spencer Penrose award. Just saying.
  15. But he's got a CHAINSAW!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. This is wrong on so many levels....
  17. News from the Barry Melrose department: He picked BC to win it all this morning on ESPN. And the other talking head referred to the Fighting Sioux as "Dane Jackson's..." How nice would it be to know absolutely nothing and make great money proving so...
  18. You seem to have differing opinions on the subject Goon. Rub it in? Or "show some class and respect for the other team".
  19. Amen ira. Well said.
  20. That, sir, is my job!

You might find some disagreement with this statement DaveK.
  22. That Zajac has always been an ice hog! Gawd, I wish he'd quit that!!!!!!!
  23. The Pepsi Center rink was not re-configured to regulation college zones prior to the West Regional; nor was the X for the Final Five. Two questions: Will the ice in St. Louis be "college" or NHL; and Does it matter I think the Sioux benefitted from the bigger space goal line to blue line, but were hindered somewhat in their cycling by the goal line being 2 feet closer to the end boards. "New" NHL Rink Dimensions * The neutral-zone edges of the blue lines will be positioned 64 feet from the attacking goal line and 75 feet from the end boards in the attacking zone. The addition of four feet in each of the offensive zones should encourage more offensive play, particularly on power-plays. * The goal lines will be positioned 11 feet from the end boards, two feet closer to the end boards than previously. * The size of the neutral zone will be reduced to 50' from 54'. * The blue lines and center line will remain at 12 inches in width.
  24. Judging from his actions on the bench after Radke's hit, there's no question Johnson milked it. But before we cast aspersion his way, keep in mind that our #1 goaltender is a world-class milker as well. I sit right behind Phil and have seen him winking, laughing and giving little hand signals to the training staff while he's lying on the ice "stunned" from a hit. I'm just sayin'
  25. I think the second link j posted is correct... both UND and UMTC records are two games short, so that'd be prior to NCAA play. I'm going to band the seeds and see what comes out... Obviously a #1 seed makes it, in BC, but at least two more WCHA teams would've been "in" so the argument is sort of pointless. But, then, so are most of my posts, so what's new?
