  1. A while back the Herald said that they were adding 9 flights to Nashville out of Grand Forks between Allegiant and Delta. Did all of those flights fill up, or were they adding them as needed. I noticed when looking last night, there was nothing on Allegiant. Anyone have any suggestions?
  2. Basically AA and Alabama Huntsville have programs just to have programs. How can you ever hope to be competitive when your program is always on the chopping block. You basically are always going to get the leftover recruits that have no place else to go, because who is going to commit to a program that has had to tell their players to look for a different place because the program is being cut?
  3. I do think that they will be a true force this year, as they have guys that have that year under their belt and being that they are top NHL picks I'm sure they have been hitting the weights hard. Think how Sanderson and Kleven will look after a year in the system. Powers, Johnson, Beniers, and Brisson will be much more formidable this year than last, as we saw the progression of Sanderson after Christmas.
  4. Tufte hasn’t lived up to expectations, but it might be too early on Samberg, as he is in the top 3 of Jets’ prospects.
  5. We’ll see how UND does after losing a bunch of guys to the pro ranks. If UND falls back to where they were a few years ago, they may need to re-evaluate their philosophy. If you are going to lose guys all the time anyways, you might as well go with the reload route with top end talent. Not that you can just count on that, by witness on guys they have missed on. In the same token, the Michigan’s and BU’s may need to re-evaluate if they don’t take strides in the postseason. Ideally the reload could be with a combination of transfer and elite young players, but then you need to manage every year because both of them would likely only be there one or two years. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
  6. We seem to do very well with defensemen, but don’t get as many top end forwards, unless we get on them early before they are considered elite. We should be set up to pull in our fair share of guys like Dylan Holloway and Kent Johnson in leagues we have been traditionally strong with. Hopefully guys like Dylan James and Bowden Singleton can develop nicely. It sounds like James will be in the USHL this year.
  7. Isn't it pertinent? If Weatherby is evil for leaving after committing to come in, shouldn't Montgomery be evil for ditching the team he committed to for the coming year? At least Weatherby is making some money.
  8. If it's the wrong decision it's his decision so he deals with the consequences. I wonder how many people on this board have made decisions in their lives that turned out to be bad in hindsight. In the same token, I'm sure we've all made decisions that worked out. The fact that so many people are so vehement about another person's decision makes me think that they are living vicariously through other people, which makes me wonder if they made all the right decisions in their lives.
  9. Not only did we lose a ton of our top scorers, we lose two of the best faceoff guys in college hockey, preventing offense from the opponent. I think Ford had good numbers, but we need Senden, etc. to pick up the slack.

  11. I don’t equate this to Tambellini whatsoever. Tambellini didn’t want to work for more playing time in certain situations. I have a feeling if this was Pinto leaving this late he would get a little more slack, but I think people have the kneeling episode as another knock against Jasper even though it seemed they forgave him down the stretch of last year when he was producing better than anyone. I’m not so sure everyone would hold fast to a decision if they were pressed by their future employer and had the pot sweetened. It would be interesting to know the coaches and players feelings and what kind of communication took place during and after San Jose’s camp.
  12. You definitely don’t want to just throw scholarship money to anyone, as there may be plenty more options in the future, but it would be nice to get someone that could help us this year, if there is someone out there that can.
  13. You lose half your team it’s tough, especially all your top scorers. The transfers will have to be huge if we are going to contend, but I imagine chemistry will take time.
  14. So maybe the University should wait until late August to renew season tickets so the fanbase can make decisions in their best interests. You lose your #1 Center this late is going to be tough. Being strong down the center is huge and losing all that we lost besides, we could be fighting for home ice.
  15. Hopefully we get another Connor Gaarder as a late add.
  16. I don’t think Michigan succeeding is as important as the players succeeding when they get to the next level.
  17. Aren’t they planning something like this south of KingsWalk? Is it hard to mitigate against a huge mosquito breeding ground?
  18. True, Duluth is looking for a few Good Old Boys bandwagon hoppers.
  19. Sympl anser, I assume it would have to be Goehring since he only won one as a player. Both Jackson and Herter won as assistant coaches but not as players.
  20. Which begs the question of why you quit as associate head coach of a championship team and then join as assistant coach at a less successful team. Was there something behind the scenes, or did he miss hockey and want to come back? Edit. The story said he quit to pursue pro scouting to spend more time with family. Maybe his kid/kids have moved on to college now.
  21. I got the shot, but they keep changing the goalposts. So, being that some aren’t getting it, should they cancel college sports again to protect everyone?
  22. Just wear a mask to get us through this. Just take a shot to get us through this. Just wear a mask to go along with your vaccination. Just get the booster shot and wear a mask...
  23. Well, at the very least we know that gfhockey has Shaugabay as a Blue Chippah, so we have a means of comparison in the future.
  24. There is a consensus on complaining. Not enough to do for young people, don't get good enough recruits. Why can't we have this, Why can't we have that? You can never please that crowd because that is their joy in life.
