  1. Best of both worlds,UND wins and messages sent in the process. Nice for Bast to get some pressure packed minutes.
  2. You also can’t count on pulling out a new business suit in white to make up for uninspired play the night before. Would guess they pull out the Nodak jerseys tomorrow.
  3. A team that is not supremely talented seems to have a hard time realizing how they have to play game in and game out in order to be successful. That doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. You can’t count on always coming out with a split after a less than inspiring game. Sometimes you run into a hot goalie, bad officiating and bad bounces, or a combination thereof. They certainly can’t afford to learn that lesson tomorrow. Let’s hope that isn’t the case, and they can move past the Friday blues.
  4. Which is why he said no, so actually he was right.
  5. I have one ticket in section 302 Row G for Friday against Minnesota. $50, and take PayPal. Brian (701) 330-8439.
  6. It was a Wisconsin goalie that did that, I believe Terry Kleisenger. He would deflect shots in practice into the student section, and back then the glass was not as high. Can't imagine what would happen to him today if he did that. Would guess that some of their forwards had to be in on it as well.
  7. Where do all the Sioux Forever chants start after every announcement that says Fighting Hawks? Sure don't hear it much from my half of the arena. It gets tiresome.
  8. https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2021/jun/02/luck-of-the-draw-spokane-chiefs-land-first-pick-in/ He is expected to be the top pick in the WHL Bantam Draft, so maybe he went home because he plans to go that route.
  9. This, after being told by the Grand Forks Herald that a generic logo was the likely outcome from other schools that had gone through the process. And they still went down the same path. Kind of funny that the group that probably has the least tie to the old nickname, the current students, are the most vocal against the mention of the new one. Just keep referencing Nodak and let it take over by default much like Zags did for Gonzaga. You don't see their fans getting bent out of shape if someone references them as Zags rather than Bulldogs, why is it a problem if some just reference UND as North Dakota, or Nodak rather than hawks? It amuses me when people in the "it's just a nickname" crowd get so up in arms when someone doesn't refer to the current nickname, or make it the focal point of attire.
  10. Other than Strinden, that is a pretty young group. Correct me if I'm wrong, but just because they signed doesn't necessarily mean they are coming in next year. I could see them dipping into the transfer portal to get one experienced forward then choose which of those are ready for the next level. Would love for the young guys to play as much junior hockey as possible as we have seen guys like Adams struggle in their first few years even after being top players in the USHL. Would guess Blake will be the no brainer for next year. I also could see needing another forward, as I would think that Pittsburgh would love to get Caulfield in their system. Hoping that being a local boy, that Caulfield realizes he can stay here and develop just as much as he could in the AHL. Big boys with great hands are always in short supply in the NHL.
  11. We know that all of the Minnesotans and North Dakotans on Minnesota and UND know the importance of this series, let's hope the UND coaches and leadership can show some clips to express to the rest of the guys what this series means to the season, pairwise importance notwithstanding.
  12. Exactly. It is hard to judge who needs this series more. If we would lose three to Big Ten teams it could really damage our pairwise. Minnesota sure could use wins against the NCHC as well. Bottom line for UND is to learn from their losses to Penn State and Duluth, and stay out of the box. I believe Minnesota mustered the split with Penn State by converting on a 5 on 3. UND has to treat this series as critical to their NCAA tourney hopes. I don't want to be talking after Friday night that UND needs to learn another lesson as to staying out of the box.
  13. Maybe she's talking about the Duluth fans and the smallpox blanket remarks.
  14. Give us a split there this year and I’ll take it in a heartbeat.
  15. ...and to think someone on GPL said they couldn’t believe all the empty seats in Nashville. So we had probably 4 times or more fans at a venue 1200 miles away than they have in their back yard! Reminds me of their fans complaining that they last played us at home on Thanksgiving when students were gone, allowing us to take up a good share of the arena. Not worried about that happening here this weekend.
  16. ...and I think we can all agree that you have done the best with what you were given to work with. I believe there was one moment you came close to stringing together a complete sentence, albeit with numerous spelling errors.
  17. Ben Clymer is officially the biggest homer announcer ever. Normal jousting among players deserves a penalty if it happens to a gopher player, but is being tough if the gophers do it.
  18. So you know exactly what Bubba would have done. Great. Facts show you as a blowhard.
  19. We’ll never know but your assertions aren’t holding any water.
  20. https://fightinghawks.com/sports/football/stats Brady Stevens 4 for 4 39 yards in.
  21. You tell me the stats then big mouth.
