  1. The officials can't even tell when the puck has hit the back net half the time, how are they going to tell if it was deflected out of play or not.
  2. It isn't a certainty that Cam will leave after this season. It all depends on the offers he gets. True his numbers aren't as good, but I think that NHL scouts understand the defense isn't as veteran in front of him either. But Cam could decide to stay and improve his stock and numbers, even if it means he may not play all the time like he has this year.
  3. Which is why I said if he has anything to do with it. If he gives any input, you know what it would be.
  4. If Gene Taylor has anything to do with it, you know the answer.
  5. Are you going down the Lucia road of why do these things always happen when North Dakota is involved?
  6. I will be watching for Iowa's reaction in games from this point forward when the "Games Over"! If you're down by 10 with 30 seconds to go coach and still playing physical it will stand out quite a bit in contrast to your comments.
  7. I am trying to figure out Jones' reaction to the play. Can't tell if he was thinking "No, No," or "put it in the hoop".
  8. Now you sound like a Minnesota Gopher fan. Is that you Dave K?
  9. Yet you expected them to win by 25 in the rematch?
  10. They have quite a few defensemen recruited, but he very well may pass up offers and decide to wait and see if they will offer. If you're confident those offers will always be there, it is easier to wait for your dream offer.
  11. Adams with a goal and Kiersted with 2 assists leading team USA to gold at World Junior A challenge. Kawaguchi led Canada West in scoring.
  12. Any interest in defenseman Jesse Bjugstad from Stillwater?
  13. Eastern Washington's loss shows me even more we are going down the right path by following the Bison example of a ball control offense and dominating defense. Eastern Washington had a comfortable lead and didn't even attempt running, going downfield just about every down. If this was a one time thing for them it would be different, but they traditionally need to outscore teams, and that doesn't work so well come playoff time. More depth and beef and UND should be well set to challenge consistently.
  14. True, but if we hadn't won against Bemidji in 7 games, it would definitely be pretty ugly!
  15. Keep throwing crazy things out and maybe one day you'll hit. On the positive you're within 50.
  16. I wonder when the actual injury occurred. I remember Boeser going ballistic and getting a penalty earlier this year after he had been slashed. Wonder if it happened way back then.
  17. If we win the second game against Western Michigan and score another 5 goals, the outlook is a lot different. Who was perceived to be our best line after the CBS line last year? Gardner, Poganski and Johnson. Two of those guys could still be here next year, along with Jost, Gersich, and newcomers in Mismash, Adams and Kawaguchi. Not many freshmen have the success Boeser and Jost had/have. You mention Gersich, well he has made a huge step from last year to this year. Others certainly could make a jump as well.
  18. ... but I thought if we won a National Championship we could have several down years and it would be all right because we just needed to win like Duluth did.
  19. The game against Union could be huge. If we could somehow find a way to beat them and they beat Boston University before all of their players come back from the WJC, that could really give us a nice pairwise boost.
  20. Why does Minnesota try to market themselves as the "State of Hockey" then? Obviously not marketing geniuses, although you certainly know how that feels to be shortchanged in intellectual capacity.
  21. "This game was a microcosm of what next year will probably look a lot like.... " This quote makes it sound like you aren't very high on this roster, without Boeser, because we have been without Boeser for a while now.
  22. The most frustrating part is that we had taken momentum of the game over five on five, then we have a chance to do the same on the scoreboard and it ends up costing us the momentum and the game. I would like Schlossman to do a little research on how bad we have been on five minute majors. Somehow I don't think St. Cloud would go scoreless on 12 minutes of power play, much less hardly any shots. Where was the desperation we saw when the goalie was pulled? It shouldn't take a marquee game to have the motivation to win. Rant over.
  23. I'm guessing that UND must see some benefit if they are bidding Sioux Falls. Perhaps the benefit is that they think the NCAA won't put a regional in the same place two years in a row, so they can bid on a different place every year.
  24. I am sure the Minnesota Wild would have preferred that Parise not play in the World Cup of Hockey after his injuries down the stretch last year, but sometimes the allure of playing for your country and having another lifetime experience is going to play into your decisions.
  25. When you only get a few shots on net, what do you do? Do you tell guys to skate around at neutral ice and not try score. If you ask me that is an embarrassment too! Now if he kept throwing his first line out on power plays or didn't utilize his other lines more than his top units, I would certainly question his sportsmanship. Not knowing the particulars, I won't be the first to cast the stone at him.
