Wow, kind of surprised they didn't wait to see a year in the USHL first, but who knows what the offer entails. Usually, you can wait on goaltenders because there are a lot of late bloomers that have great junior credentials. Just wondering if the local guys are wait and see offers because they have connections to UND and really want to be here with guys like Johnson and Montgomery. Was expecting a Cole Spicer first, but great to have the local guys that know what the program is all about. With the commitments out of the way, they can focus on getting their games ready for the next level.

It's not bad playing someone that will play hard the whole game early on, they just need to learn to match it. Shouldn't need to learn the lesson over and over again. There were only 3 freshmen in the lineup on Friday night, so they can't use that as an excuse, especially when Bemidji had more than that.
-
As frustrating as it is, it is only two games into the season. Winning fixes things. We'll see how they play against Minnesota State this weekend, as both BC and BU the teams we are always held up against in comparison, both have worse records than us.
-
Most of the empty seats have been in the student section. I agree it is harder to sell tickets, but mostly only for the games against non traditional rivals. Have a feeling they will take away more student seats at some point.

The word on him coming in was hard nosed player with great work ethic. I see the hard nosed, but the work ethic seems to come and go.
-
If everyone had his motor, they would score much more often. Mismash, Kawaguchi and Adams only go in spurts when they have a perceived opportunity.
-
If Shaw was serious about his comments about the defense and such, his inability to utilize their talents on the power play looks even worse. Finishing with 19 percent with the likes of Schmaltz, Boeser, Caggiula, Stecher, Poolman and LaDue doesn't inspire my confidence in the scheme.

Agreed. I even liked the hustle of Senden. Think the whole team can play a lot better if they play with some passion and urgency. My biggest concern is that after all the talk about getting back to the NCAA tournament, they played with neither this weekend. If every game counts, they sure don't seem to understand it.

You'd think that the way they are slaves to analytics they would see it needs to be fixed. Of course those same analytics told them to put Simonson and Olson out frequently because of zone time, so you never know. I would think they would have screamed how many career goals they had between them, so why are they your go to when you are down late.
-
It's pretty bad when you know that they will let the other team hang around and hang around, then give up a goal late. Urgency to begin, score, play emotionless until they tie it, then show a little more urgency. I am certain most fans saw Bemidji's goal as inevitable, don't know how the players and coaches can't see it coming, and focus on adding to a lead.

I share your pain in not having everybody on board tonight, but realize that it is just one game. Funny you mention Duluth, because Bemidji State has owned them in the past 5-6 years.
-
Oh, so the standard isn’t Boston College anymore. They got shut out by Wisconsin. Disappointed they couldn’t win, but the next 6 games are going to tell the tale about the potential of this team.

He has mastered the art of trolling just as you have.

Call me disappointed. Game one and Brad Berry is talking about passengers. So much for the lip service of we know every game counts, and every period starts at zero.
-
All I know, is that if I hear after this weekend that "we need to learn how to bring it all the time", I will be very disappointed.
-
Why have they scheduled Minnesota Duluth the past few years then? If it's o.k. to schedule them non conference, then it shouldn't be that degrading to play them in conference. But then again, it's Notre Dame, and they think they are better than they really are.
-
Remember the vilification heaped on UND and some of the others that left the WCHA? Listening to fans of some of the Big Ten teams was particularly funny as to the forming of the new conference. With the small time thinking of some of the schools left in the WCHA, and even more concerning an extension for Bruce McCloud rather than a vote of no confidence, it is not surprising that they made this move. One cringes to think where we would be right now if we stayed in the WCHA.

Notre Dame was very particular about having their own TV package.

Have 1 ticket, section 302A Row G, right above entry way in upper deck, end where UND shoots twice.

That's what I looked up before I got my tickets. It seems odd that UND doesn't take the Wrangler's bench. It surprises me that a lot of venues, especially hockey venues, have no clue where each team shoots twice when they are selling tickets. I would bet they are asked that question numerous times, at least I ask it or research it before I get my tickets. Just disappointed this time that UND did the opposite of what the home team does. -

It was in an information packet about the event. -
Have a hard time listening to games because I go nuts when I hear the phrase when the puck is in UND's end, "cleared but not out". Have to have that visual confirmation.

I see that Minnesota shoots twice on the end with the bowl. Seems odd that UND wouldn't shoot twice on the end with the most fans, as most fans prefer to sit where their team shoots twice. In fact, I thought I looked up where the home team shot before I bought my tickets, and I thought that was the end that they did. -
There is no rule for sports other than football where you can play so many games without losing your redshirt status?

If I worked at a till, I would. For you to disparage hard working people that have those jobs says a lot about you. Work on that bitterness!
