If consistency holds true, a loss to an unranked team at home should completely slide them out of any rankings. Look what a 3 point road loss to the #3 ranked team in the country did to UND.
-
Yes. I think the team needs to play like they expect to be in the playoffs and you aren’t sitting him in the playoffs if you get in so may as well play him.
-
I’d say it’s more the ISU loss that kept the team out of the playoffs.
-
The loss to a cupcake on our schedule is what kept us out/could keep us out. We had the cupcake there already and lost.
-
Agree to disagree. Chicken !@#$ mentality that doesn’t improve your program. Kids want to compete against the best.
-
This line of thinking is why I hope the selection committee takes SOS into serious consideration. Is the goal only to get to 7 wins or is the goal to challenge yourself while doing so? The NDSU loss isn’t the one that kept UND out of the playoffs both years.

Grover likely took 3rd string snaps all week and ran scout team. If he comes in and for some reason fumbles you would have been the first to get on the staff for playing a guy not prepared. Could it happen that Schuster has to play three more games this year, yeah but again if that happens we are in the quarters or semis and him losing a year of eligibility is the furthest from anyone’s mind. You set your depth chart and go with it.

As a three loss team SDSU likely should be seeded 5 through 8. With one of those losses being FBS Minnesota and a “quality NDSU loss” a 5 seed is likely where they belong. If both Montana and Sac St lose those weekend maybe they slide up to a 3 but I think the Big Sky is deserving of having one top 3 seed this year.

That 2010 team actually proves he point that once you get in anything can happen. They really could have won it all that year and had no business being in the playoffs after a terrible loss to Missouri St the last week of the regular season in which they looked like they didn’t belong. They fought injuries that year and got healthy and rolling at the right time. Got beat by their head coach getting conservative and a judgement call by an official. Sometimes things can align for teams that sneak in

Tough to argue. Need an impressive win and maybe some help.

This is my point. People are upset about a player coming back from injury, making an impact but potentially playing 5 games (or more) or a QB taking one snap to get to 2 games played this season when he reality is we need our best players on the field. If we make the playoff and if we make a run and if Kett gets injured and Schluster gets to play more than two games, than taking one snap vs UNC might suck. But at that point we are in the quarters or semis of the playoffs and I don’t really care. It’s a long shot but another thing for people to complain about. Regarding the RB, the kid just has to play. He is good but how do you bench McKinney after how he was playing Saturday. I guess I have no problem with either.

Is two games played the cutoff for losing a redshirt?
-
Let’s just keep saving all of our best players for next year. Makes sense.
-
What if Skonka wanted to play? The kids have a say in this too.
-
So what if we win that playoff game? Do just sit everyone?
-
SDSU loses today and there is a chance we play round 1
-
I didn’t mean in your 15 second left example. I meant in the actual 3:30 or however much time was left vs Weber. Even with the fumble, still had an opportunity to win/tie the game.
-
If it was Weston Dressler or Santiago returning the kick would you have been ok with the attempt?
-
Props to Luke Skonka today. Kickstart when we needed some life. Kid is a very good player and is a different wrinkle for the offense.
-
Honestly, going into the game did you think UND had a chance?
-
If the timeout was not called it was a delay of game penalty. They threw the flag.
-
And if he returns it to he 50 everyone is talking about what a playmaker he is. Should of he let it go, probably. Has he earned the right to try and return that this year, IMO.....yes
-
He looked set to me. Tough call. Not the reason we lost but just one of many unforced mistakes. Tough one for the Hawks
