Interesting note on Thurman. He held an offer from Central Michigan and from what I gathered by reading online got a commitment from someone higher on their board and that offer is no longer there. He is a must sign. Watching his highlight tape he could come in a play right away. He's physical against the run and moves pretty well.
I'm guessing this will be a big recruiting weekend for us and I'm hoping there are a lot of chest bumps getting thrown out on Sunday and Monday. Thurman is set to visit Southern Illinois the following weekend but hopefully we get him locked up before he leaves town.

Held offers from UNI & Southeast Missouri St. and preferred walk on offer from Northern Illinios. Another DL up front. Welcome to UND Ryan!!!

Holy Cross was ranked #20 in the nation in the latest poll. That was in D-1, real D-1. Face it, North Dakota is known as a hockey school Because they won 7, that is 7 national championships at the highest level of college hockey. That's real D-1. Not some faux D-1 like Moo U has won.
The fact is, the truth is, that the FCS championship calling itself "D-1" is a running joke. It should be called D-IAA like it was in the past. It's not the highest level of college football. But, winning it is an honor. But, it should be honored in the right context.
Just because you don't like to hear the truth doesn't mean we shouldn't speak the truth.
Now, continue go on how gay we are or whatever else you wish. It just says more about you than us.
Do you not congratulate your son for winning a grade school basketball tournament because it wasn't the NBA? You play the teams on your schedule and this year FU was the best team in OUR football division. Its not worth knocking or belittling. As someone mentioned earlier, I know our players, coaches and recruits were watching and taking note. That is the level our program is expected to reach.
-
This is frustrating. After watching the game vs. ISU I thought we moved the ball well. Passed it around until we got open looks. Last night apparently, not so much.
-
Congrats to FU on the championship. They played a solid game yesterday and wore SHSU out.

We need to improve our RB's. Both seem like good options. Clarence Smith seems to be a big guy with some speed. Kidd appears to be smaller, but is a burner. In order for our offense to continue to improve against better competition, a running back who is consistently a threat is a must.

Recruiting has become a big part of college athletics. It now has full day coverage from ESPN and is a huge part of the All-Star games at the end of high school seasons. I'm all for the "chest bumps", the recruiting party and everything else the coaching staff does. I wish they would do more. I wish Wayne Nelson would somehow know or get tipped off immediately when a recruit committed.

Example?
PM sent. Probably a better place for it.

Nice to get a road win. We have missed Huff the last month. We need to get Brekke back and remain healthy and see where this season wll take us. We played very well at times tonight.
-
These officials are terrible. Another poor call on a clean block by Webb
-
Wow, nice follow up dunk by Huff
-
These officials are doing their best to keep ISU in this game

UND up 8 with 3 minutes to go.

As I said, they had an easy out. If they felt it deserved suspension they could have sat them for the Robert Morris game and the heat would have been off and they would have still won the game.
This logic leads me to believe that the powers that be didn't feel their actions deserved a suspension at all for who knows what reason. Given Coach Bohl's track record with suspension, and don't kid yourself he has always been quick to punish when warranted, I tend to lean in the direction that they don't need to be suspended further.
I know your a former FU player but from the outside looking in, in the past if a player is a backup or won't contribute he has been dismissed. If its been a starter, slap on the wrist of the infraction they committed.

Would like to see AJ get on the phone and bring Akeem Roller, Mike Redmond, Jareid Combs and Mikias Alipate with him. There is some good talent in Minnesota this year.
Redmond and Alipate appear to be outstanding LB's. Alipate has a good looking highlight tape. They would be solid additions to the LB core and could see early playing time.
Jaried Combs could be an outstanding TE in this offense. With the WR we have, that guy looks like he coud do absolute damage in our offense, and see the field right away in a position we have to fill.
Roller is a big body we are going to need at DE in the future. He could come join fellow Cretin alums Shea Walker and Joe Kleason.

Did the players deserve a suspension? Probably. Were they not suspended because NDSU wanted to win a football game, not a chance. As everyone knows they could have won that football game with the practice squad.
Agree with your first part and since they weren't suspended, the questions and comments are going to keep coming after the game this weekend no matter the outcome. From the outside it looks like winning games is all that matters since the only punishment was a couple extra laps of conditioning. buttlessonlearned

This class appears to really be taking shape. With the 4 recruiting weekends in January hopefully the coaching staff can continue to get their targets and we get some kids who may be able to contribute immediately next season. There is some opportunity for playing time on the defensive side of the football.
Welcome to UND to both AJ and Dustin.

Yes a thread on a whoND site about the Bison softball team. Go figure
I see the troll showed up to try and derail the thread to change the topic away from ANOTHER criminal investigation into a FU athletic program.

I wasn't comparing Alabama to UND or Alabama football to UND hockey. I feel we'd be crazy not to bring these guys to hockey games. The building and atmosphere are something we should be proud of and show off. A lot of these kids have been up in the fall for an unofficial visit. A lot of other colleges wish they would have something as great as the Ralph and the UND fanbase to showcase in the winter when football is over.

There was an interview on earlier this year with Nick Saban and men' basketball coach Anthony Grant. In it Saban talked about how he makes an attempt to meet with every recruit for every sport Alabama's campus and encourages other programs to bring recruits to Tide football games. Having a strong athletic dept. requires all sports to rely on one another. It goes on everywhere at every level.

Looks like Jameer Thurman will visit UND on Jan. 11th and Southern Illiniois the following weekend on the 18th.

Hard to say. I think there is still one, possibly two from the Illinois area we don't know about. Coach Schleusner has had a few chest bumps and we only have two comitments from Illinois if you include Adams. JJ Robertson being the other. Its hard to say if we have been able to keep up on the commitments or not.
