What is so shameful and disgraceful is that the Fargo Forum editorial and beat writers for years took on Chapman's enemies with a vengance. The pro-Chapman Fargo Forum and anti-Chapman Bismarck Tribune had battling editorials. The support the Fargo Forum lended Chapman for much of the past decade is a shameful example of newspaper boosterism that should go down in the annals of ND history as "journalism" at its worst. Chapman sabotages Potts and, subsequently, the Fargo Forum awards Chapman "Person of the Year" as a result Chapman vs Dunn, Chapman hires lawyer to defend self against Dunn NDUS board had pro-Chapman bias Chapman passive-aggressiveness a case study The John Q Paulsen episodes of providing Chapman with an insider scoop of NDUS consultations and the violation of open meeting laws are all documented in Siouxsports.com.

Considering the injuries they dealt with, the eligibility issue of the true center we thought we had, and some of the defections, all Sioux fans should be very proud of what this team has accomplished. A 200 RPI is actually quite an accomplishment for a transition team.

Gotto hand it to you, WYO, for stating these things. Probably doesn't make you popular in bisonland.

You do realize I hope that WAC members include schools with about half the football attendance of Montana: Idaho, Utah St, N Mex St, San Jose St. Boise St will be gone. FBS offers the chance for Montana to get higher payouts, twice in a season as well as much high WAC payouts. Where Montana is ill prepared is in their sports offering (only 14 - must be 16 for FBS).

The economics of FCS football are fatally flawed. O'Day is basically stating his choices are 36 "full" scholarships or the economics of FBS. Montana will move to FBS: FCS has no economic future and the fans won't allow a drop.

North Dakotan's generally are so trusting and so naive about manipulative-type people that their social radar doesn't even pick up those traits. I've received a lot of heat from bison fans for "hating" Chapman and by inference NDSU over the years, but Chapman's deeper character was always evident. Guess I've been around too many Philly and New Jersey types that have incredible street smarts. Chapman was gifted in many ways, but he used his gifts to deceive and manipulate. Would love to hear a public mea culpa from John Q Paulsen, who did much of Chapman's dirty poliitcal work and gave Chapman the confidence that SBoHE mandates and state law need not apply. The fallout from Chapman's scandals could politically affect NDSU for years, as almost all of NDSU's poliitcal allies have been tainted by association. Chapman the emporer never did have any clothes: maybe bisonville will finally see that true reality.

So Chapman insists on the Old Main remodeling project proceed without NDSBoHE approval and technically in violation of state law - and gave Adams a choice: either do it or be fired. Will the Attorney General file charges against Chapman and/or Adams?

Thanks Andrea, for working on this worthy cause! -
Other fans might not have an emotional attachment to the Sioux nickname, but in survey after survey non-UND fans consider the Fight Sioux logo to one of the sharpest around.

So the choice will be UND & REA vs UMD & new DECC. Which wins?

Now is the perfect time to build - with so little ongoing with construction. Hopefully the EERC and Memorial Stadium area will have a number of construction projects simultaneously: EERC expansions, old REA demolition, and a new indoor training center.

Going through Detroit, UND can fly with Delta Airlines - which in the past had offered group rates for UND. That's likely the reason for the Detroit layover. Would imagine nearly all UND-sponsored business is via Delta.

JBB and Lakes and their ilk have been bombarding the Summit League offices with anything that is potentially embarrassing to UND. Welcome to their club!

Some of the worst-hit rural NW counties - that have been losing population since the 30's - like Divide, Burke, Renville are going to experience opportunity for the first time in generations. Agree that the eastern half of the state, excluding the Red River Valley, needs some answers. It's in a population death spiral.

I guess all plastic will no longer be commonplace? Or jets will become solar-powered? And there will be a law that all motor vehicles must be electric by 2020.

Wall Street Journal There is talk within the oil industry that parallel laterals may be placed with 600 ft of horizontal separation within both the Sanish-Three Forks and Bakken formations: effectively creating an tile-like oil drain system of the low porosity formations. The costs of such a system would be staggering ($100 billion?). But with 2010 capital budgets in ND by oil companies like EOG, XTO, Whiting, Continental, Hess, Marathon all approaching or exceeding a billion $'s, the oil companies are not without enthusiasm. North Dakota's economy is changing in a way that even the most optimistic Bakken supporters wouldn't have believed three or four years ago.

Isn't West Fargo voting on a high school split soon? Maybe Wahpeton-Breckenridge could become competitive in a Fargo-area league? Could see Bismarck and Century replacing Fargo schools as powers in hockey .

Williston leading Fargo South 3-1 with a few seconds remaining. Looks like there will be an all-western semifinal: Williston vs Bismarck

We also knew Douple would bend over backwards for us. Funny, just two weeks ago, the scheduling window closed this coming summer. Now it turns out it has already closed. Does anyone else catch a bad odor from this? A year ago, I would have been upset by this decision. Now, it shows that UND athletics, players, coaches, and fans have sacrificed for the Sioux name. I truly think the whole UND community will be better off by letting the process play out. Give the tribes the time and dignity to make a final decision at their pace, not the Summit's. I know Bison fans especially will say the Sioux name will always be an albatross around the UND athletic program. But explain this: how has UND managed to obtain two successive invitations to CUSA's swimming championship. CUSA is an FBS league that has no members with an Indian nickname. Why would CUSA allow it, if the nickname taints a conference's reputation so badly?
