  1. The problem is it is swimming and diving. I agree and think it is great that there has been such success, but it isn't exactly a high spectator attended sport.
  2. I don't think there is any server issue, it works great for me and I have watched the sample video and played many of the archived videos. Can't wait till they start using it for all the extra stuff soon.
  3. If Iowa did offer to her that may be off the table now it was just out last week that they got a commit from a point gaurd from Ohio, so Go Sioux. Let's also find a Big.
  4. As a long time Big 8 now Big 12 fan, I can see this happening, there has not been alot of happy people since this merger occured many years ago now. There simply are more differences than similarities between the Texas schools and the rest of the North. I do however see CU being interested in the Pac 10 and if that happens I'm not sure Nebraska would be happy with the rest of the North. Money is such a huge factor it is hard to imagine this happening anytime in the near future.
  5. The women are also in Hawaii in December sometime, from what I hear.
  6. Are there any commitments for signing this fall, it seems that we have one but I can't seem to remember who it is. I would think we would be looking for another big with Ashley and Val being seniors, we will need a good big, I don't think any of this comming years freshman are centers are they. Any idea who we may be pursuing? Other than Whalin.
  7. Look where the SWC is today, could this be the begininng of the end of the Big Sky, just like many of the troubles in the end lead to an end of the SWC. Yes the SEC has had schools with issues but not this many at one time or this % of schools with serious issues all at one time.
  8. The past year has been a ethical disaster for the Big Sky: Montana State - criminal implications, scholarship losses, coaching changes Northern Arizona - major scholarship losses Weber State - scholarship losses Sac State - scholarship losses Northern Colorado - punter incident, other issues Idaho State - academic warning E Washington - basketball program issues Montana - criminal issues, possible implication on coaches The only program that may have had a clean year, is, unbelievably, Portland State with its large numbers of JC transfers, and they didn't have an AD for most of the year and had to hire Glanville to keep the football program afloat. Without question, the Big Sky has lost some its luster. But, when it adds schools in the future, running a clean program, especially in football and basektball, will most assuredly be a major criteria. We know where it can look: East. Why would UND want to or have any desire to couple it's self with a group that has problems like these schools, I think UND is better than that and there will be alot better options out there than the BIG Trouble Sky.
  9. Seems to look to me as if your right Baseball could be on the way out, I can't see why else Timm Pint would be named interim Coach so quickly. With the college world serise still going on as we speak it can't be that late in the season to be looking for a replacement. The interim's qualifications don't look like they would be close to what would be looked for in a qualified person to lead us into D1. This guy has no Head Coaching exp, and only being a few years himself from playing at a school that just transitioned from a junior college to a 4 year school and very little College exp. I don't get it!
  10. I've hear Whalin made a verbal to Iowa, anyone able to confirm this.
  11. I would like to change my name to 4siouxnow
  12. Seems like apretty good Coach from reading a bit about him and would be a good possibility. My guess is he would be interested. However I don't think we should even approach this until needed. But I do hope Bunning has a short list in his desk drawer to go after.
  13. Reading the post on BobcatNation it sure seems that MVD the guy from Carroll is the fan favorite.
  14. UND #5 in women's basketball attendance, followed closely by USD at #6. The NCC is #1 as a conference in DII and would be the #8 conference in DI. http://www.ncaa.org/stats/w_basketball/att..._attendance.pdf
  15. Minnesota probably will seel out the NDSU game next year, but it will not have as much to do with playing NDSU as it wil be the new Coach's 1st year and the enthusiasim that goes with that.
  16. Sorry about the goof up's. Must have been tired.
  17. Travis Brewster former UND women's ast to USD. http://www3.sdstate.edu/Athletics/VarsitySports/WomensBasketball/NewsDetail55428.cfm?Id=46,6022
  18. If it's so bad to have a ten team conference why do you suppose there is a conference called the big 10 that actually had 10 teams for much of it's excistence and now has an even odder number in 11. It can be worked out with almost any number of teams, with bye weeks and out of conference games.
  19. Give him a break I don't think there has been too much complaining about the other hires he has made so far, Jones seemed to take the Men's basketball program in the right direction this year and the future seems to be headed ok there. The volleyball program also had a good season with it's new Coach. Bottom line is the way to put people in seats is to win, people aren't going to go to more than a game or two because so and so is the coach they don't care if you don't win!
  20. Just another note for Sioux fan 100, hope you heard Pat Summit last night right after winning the Championship she said her players hard work "together" over the summer are what made the difference and made this season what it was. The summer is when players are made, if the kids aren't in Grand Forks it's way too easy to skip a workout, if all are there that won't happen and they will build even more as a team.
  21. The time commitment is much the same at the best DII programs like UND as it is to DI programs, yes it is year round. The girls will all be in Grand Forks for most of the summer and working hard to improve their game so that they can be ready for next year. There are DII programs that have a much different commitment and that is why they are not successful like UND. I think you may be surprised by UND's schedule this year and years beyond they will likely be on the road a bit more than during the current NCC time period but it will be against some better programs than you maybe thinking, my guess is it will be similar to South Dakota State's schedule. There will be some great home games that should fill the Betty and maybe beyond. Check out how Wyoming drew during their recent NIT championship run, they finished it with a 15,000 fan sell out for the final, SDSU I think drew 11K for one of their home NIT games, this could very easily be done at UND in the near future. The girls love playing for Coach Roebuck, he's the old fashion Coach that will chew their a--, then after practice joke around and have a great time with them. UND still will have more to offer than most other mid-majors, and shouldn't have any problem getting good/great players.
  22. Maybe Coach does know more than many others!
