Well played, Tom. About time we have a sports writer with some guts.
  2. It's like sticking your tongue in a cavity - somehow compelled to do it
  3. Drives me nuts to see our linebackers get run over
  4. For the love of all that's holy, doesn't anyone know how to wrap up?
  5. Great win - I was worried about this one - way to go - take it to Miami in their house.
  6. Well . . . . .
  7. You seem to have some team insight - any idea why they had good sucess with Miller to the outside on the first drive, then decided to pound the rock inside with our 168 pound back?

Well, we played much more like I thought we would this season - still have miles to go though. An interesting game in which some parts of our team started to play well. It was sure nice to see some tackling and not have our linebackers get run over. We were much more physical. I think Molberg looked good overall, but make a killer mistake with the pick 6 - I think the penalty on the previous play was the real game changer - Some of the coaching decisions continue to be head scratchers - Miller had a great run on the outside on our first posession, then apparently we decided to run up the middle with our 166 pound running back. With our defensive backfield no game is safe for us. If we have the best players out on the field, I'm not optimistic for the future even if we improve in other areas.

My point exactly - and it seems like everything from this point forward

It like this team doesn't know at all how to win - you could sit at home and write out the worst case scenerios and they will somehow stumble into them - chop block to take us out of FG range followed by a pick 6 - you can hardly make this stuff up - Not to mention the personal foul that we are known for. - Even though this is the type of play we expected from the start of the year, the absolute lack of discipline has once again done us in.

But but but - the league voted - In my book a pathetic excuse - we should have more and this is not ok

\ As I exited the game I heard several fans talk like a 3 touchdown loss is a moral victory - how the mighty have fallen - how have we come to this?
  14. An average 168 pound running back
  15. You, sir, are full of crap Aparently my Captains Club membership is not enough for me to find a decent parking place or a shuttle ride to the Ralph - This was added to insure that season ticket holders who couldn't afford a parking pass could at least get to the arena - a broken promise in my book. The schools who should provide shuttle services are the people who don't have adaqate parking - I was gladly paying $10 to be taken to the arena in addition to my "donation" and the cost of season tickets. If you aren't corporate you don't count at UND.

    Fools!

Everyone understands that this is a league decision - People are upset 1. because it is a poor deal for the league and 2. We see UND as a mover and shaker in this league and are surprised at how quickly we rolled over and how soon it was before the rest of the league stuck it to us. Add the officials that we saw last night and I am not happy with the new league (even though I see the reasoning behind forming it - don't need that lecture again).
  17. Ok - I understand the dump and chase and the cycle - not looking for a hockey lesson. But can anyone explain why Hak is so enamored with them. It seems like our first option is always dump and chase regardless of team speed or talent. Anyone have any insight into why he loves this style so much?
  18. They will make more than enough money to subsidize the bus service just from the new seats added in place of the goal judges. This is a horrible slap in the face to the average fan. It's corporate or nothing for these clowns.

    2014 Recruiting

I agree that great coaches look great because THEY assemble talent both in coaches and players. That is their responsibility as head coach. However, I believe that it is also true that a poor coach could screw up a talented team.

    2014 Recruiting

Not exactly - I get the fact that the Bison may be a bigger recruiting draw right now for local kids - What I don't like is the loss of good will that seems to be happening because of this coaching staff. I think we are losing some of our fan presence in many areas of North Dakota because of the attitude of our coaches. That, I think, is a big deal and will be noticable in the future unless we wake up.
  21. Couldn't agree more - especially since our #1 QB last year fell into their laps.

    2014 Recruiting

In addition to losing very motivated area players we are losing the battle for the hearts and minds of North Dakota football fans in many parts of North Dakota (and not just because of wins/losses). It used to be that every small town had a large contingent of Sioux football fans and many coaches loved UND. This crew is alienating coaches and fans right and left. Show some interest in area programs. Bohl visits almost every school in North Dakota every year - even when he doesn't get a recruit or when there isn't one to get he gains much goodwill. This is one of the most frustrating parts of the program to me. I don't know if this is arrogance or ineptness on Muss's part, but he sets the tone.
  23. If UND wins this could maybe be a jumpstart into a new attitude and belief in the team among players. It certainly would give players a sense that they have the talent and can win with discipline and hard work. In my opinion a win of this type is badly needed and could be a season-changer. For Muss, this would be the first step in a long time down the right path. I don't know if a win should save his job, but I think another blow-out would be disaster.
  24. Good question - one worthy of dicsussion I am a life-long Sioux fan and really hate to say it, but there is much I don't like about this team/program that isn't all won-loss. They are cocky without reason, they trash-talk, they take horrible penalties including unsportsman like conduct - 14 penalties in week 5 alone, and their sideline behavior is pathetic. To see some of them cock off you would think they were undefeated and chasing a third title in a row. Contrast their behavior and deportment to the Bison who once again got the job done under pressure. (on the field behavior) - I blame some of this on the assistants. I think Muss is not capable of leading, but position coaches who spend most of the week with their small group should carry some weight. You would think, for example, that the D-back coach would at some point tell his players to shut their pie holes, strap on their helmets, and go out and just get the job done. Hasn't happened yet. All we have done so far is beat one of the worst scholarship programs at our level by 3 points. In my opinion we win 7 this season and still have great cause to worry about this program.
