Thats right! Remember folks, WCHA ref's are on the GOpher payroll! Sioux-Gopher weekend, does it get any better!!?!?!?! Should be a fun weekend of hockey either way. Hope I can get rid of my shift Friday night so I can get to the game.

Supposedly Poppa Shep wasn't too happy with Anderson's officaiating last night at Mariucci. Someone who was up in the press box said he was throwing a fit. Will anything come of this? PROBABLY NOT! I don't think Shep has the seeds to do anything.

WOW, sorry, I just had to see this again. Being told I was right on the Sioux board....this is just historic for me.

The penalties that were called on 'Kato seemed logit to me, but then again I'm wearing maroon and gold glasses as well. But the thing that did worry me is that the penalties were so in favor of Minnnesota. I was waiting for the 3rd to be a constant power play for Mankato to make up for it.....and as a fan it's scary that we get that mentality that the refs will try to even up the penalties.

Seems to me like Jutting and Means should have some serious action coming towards him. Sounds like he has quite the reputation as being a tad bit whiny as it is. I can see confronting a ref after the game on the ice and discussing some game moments but to go searching for him after the game in their locker room seems pretty innapropriate. As far as WCHA refs go, maybe it's just me but Campion seems to be the most decent one around as of lately or this season as it goes, with Don Adam still being the biggest toolbox to ever don the striped jersey, how they can keep him around is beyond me.

I'm no doctor but I have a system that has worked pretty well for me in the past. You take a multi-vitamin before you start drinking and one before you hit the hay.....if you can remember. Works pretty well.

I would agree. I know that 'Sconnie is our natural rival in pretty much every sport, but when it comes to hockey I would say NoDak is the biggest rival for the Gophers....I'm sure many other Gopher fans would dissagree with me though.

I would guess Briggs will be in net both nights this weekend, just to get some playing time....will be his first games played due to his "vacation"!

Ya DAMN right! Buckyseive does bring up a good point, how many of you actually saw the play by Carman crashing the net. I am not saying it was right what he did or even clean but unless we saw it a person can't really speculate either. I talked to a friend of mine (Cardinal) who said it was clean (but then again we all wear maroon and gold colored glasses as well ). I did see the Sioux-Badger game on CSTV on Friday night, and like I said when they compared the hit that Bina put on the Badger guy to the hit that he took from Paukovich I really did laugh my ass off, because it wasn't even close, Bina's hit from Pauko' was totally malicious. Those guys on CSTV were pretty comical to listen too, you can tell they don't really know the college game very well.

As long as there are Long Island being made at a bar Frazee I don't think will he will ever be the starter! Briggs still has 1 game on his suspension so Frazee will get the knod again, but I think Briggs will be the main guy this year with Frazee getting his fair share as well. As far as the argument on bush league players or not, that argument can never be won. But each team has their fair share of bush league tactics that are used at one point or another.

Yeah, like the knee to knee hit put on Carlson by the Sioux goon last night that sent him to the hospital or the hit from behind that Bina put on the Badger guy last night, WHICH the commentators compared to the hit that Bina took from Paukovich in the Final Five game a couple years ago, but for the record wasn't even close to the hit Bina took. You guys need to take off the Green blinders for a while here.

Please, the Sioux damn near led the league in penalties last year and goon plays year after year and you are ripping on the antics of the Gophers!!!!! Carman charged the net.....which players do all the time. Donahoe decked Carmen, sticking up for his goaltender, which he should do. And Flynn jumps in to help out his teammate Carman, this is a game after game occurance in the college hockey game!!! Lucia having a gleam in his eye? If we all had great hair like that we would all have a nice smile on our face!!! This is hockey guys, not knitting!!!!

So is the discussion going to start already on the conspiracy of how the GOphers always get the late-prime time game?

It still amazes me how people think it's a good idea to riot after their team wins a championship. I remember seeing Leopold after the '02 championship as the riots were starting to near where we were at and he was just shaking his head in disbelief. The '03 riots we got down to Dinkytown just as they were starting, walking down the street and seeing them light the cars on fire by Eberts and Gerberts. The firefighters were trying to to put out the car fires and drunk idiots were throwing beer bottles at them, if I would have been those firefighters I would have turned the hose on them and jacked up the pressure. It would have been nice if the cops would have really taken control of the situation, more rubber bullets and beatings would have made those idiots think twice in '03 I think if there would have been some control in '02!

Is there anyway the moderators can archive this thread as one of the "GREATEST EVER"? I haven't laughed this hard reading a thread in a long time. You guys are great.

Exactly! I don't think they have much else on the table for big scorers but he was very solid last season and should keep them in a lot of games.
