  1. Well this may be Ron's last shot at squashing the wishes of his constituents...when he gets voted out in the next couple months, there is potential for a whole lotta movement on this...enjoy it while you can RHHIT...what goes around, comes around...
  2. Your answer is correct.
  3. How many people did Archie kill?
  4. Didn't know him but always hate to hear when one of the good guys leaves us. RIP TRIOUXPER! Go Sioux!
  5. I sent Grant Shaft a little message after the recent election and received a reply...see below... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Message for Grant Shaft: Don't be short sighted on the UND nickname issue...it can still be saved...The current roadblock (Ron His Horse is something) is going to probably lose the election at the end of Sept....you have a chance of saving this still...think of what that might do for your current position...Come on, I heard you are a decent guy, do we really have to give up the Sioux name on 10/1 or do we have some wiggle room? Name - UND 1990 REPLY UND Name and Logo‏ From: grant.shaft@ndus.edu Sent: Fri 7/17/09 3:32 PM To: name@hotmail.com Name: Thank you for your email. I am closely watching the election atStanding Rock and do understand what the implications may be. I am of theopinion, as I believe the rest of the Board of Higher Education is, thatwe intended to accomodate the July and September elections at StandingRock. Therefore, if, as a result of the elections, it is clear that theyintend to approve the use of the name and logo with a long term agreement, and our timeline is the only roadblock, I would urge that the timeline beextended to accomodate them. Our dates are not, in my view, what isimportant, it is the intent to let the tribes speak. Hope this clarifies.Grant Shaft

  7. Charlie Murphy....git'r'done!!
  8. the WCHA... Best talent in the country Greatest winning tradition in the NCAA Best facilities in college hockey Worst officiating and horse-shi# management of any league including the Federal League (featured in Slap Shot...the Movie)
  9. HD, SD, blah, blah, blah...all I know is I live in the twin cities metro and I can watch FSSN every home hockey weekend...my 50" Sony Wega has an excellent picture and my 4 year old thinks Ryan Duncan is the bomb. We watched the Sioux sweep the Gofs again last weekend (via tape) while we played hockey in the living room...what the hell could be better than that?
  10. just one more...I had to laugh... "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." - Archie 81-85
  11. yes...I believe we are reading from the same book... I almost forgot this one...
  12. "...And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Archibald, and hell followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth (mostly Minnesota), to kill with stick, and with punch, and with crushing checks, the wild gofers of the earth." Archie 1984-85: 41-37-24-61-197

  14. There are others?
  15. It's probably a Pontiac...I know that name would be lost on the dumbasses from the NCAA... Hey sweet....1,000 posts...I'm officially a slacker like the rest of you...
  16. Is this where I post that Panzer was robbed?
  17. Yeah, as he was telling the story 30 years after the unfortunate event, his face lost all expression and he looked like he was going to break down...
  18. Long story short, he was recruited to play for UND...during a recruiting visit, after a night of fun, he drew the short straw and ended up behind the wheel to get everyone home...pulled over by the cops, bye-bye scholarship...
  19. Back in the day, we use to say "if you can't bench'em, bring'em home!"... wait, that might be a different kind of elephant...
  20. Christ, we haven't even pulled the goalie yet and people are giving up...come on, listen to the Sic! Sioux Forever!
  21. Lighten up, Francis...like we need the expertise of Moo U's finest to tell us how to solve our problems...
  22. Anybody ever heard of a guy named Murray Strall? Strale? Sorry, I can't read the last name on the document I have with his name on it. He was a player from Canada; possibly from the Winnipeg area, who was recruited to play at the University of North Dakota at the same time as James Patrick and Gord Sherven. It would have been late seventies, early eighties...If Gino Gasparini is reading this, I'm sure he could tell me... He did not end up playing for the Sioux due to some unfortunate circumstances, but I was just wondering if anyone remembers this guy...sorry, I wish I could make out the last name a little better...
  23. Malkin was the one trying to throw haymakers...how the hell do you defend that?
  24. ...and North Dakota has done it again!!
  25. Was it because they had no opinion or were they just to scared to offend potential constituents? Christ, I thought this was North Dakota...
