Is there a reason Griffin isn't playing?
-

A couple of predictions have been made on the other thread but let's start another: Hope I am wrong: SJSU 34 UND 17

How is attendance?
-
What type of injury does she have?

Thanks for the insight - it sounds like they are a couple of very talented kids! Please continue to post - any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I hope many aren't pissed if we lose by more than 10. We were 3-8 last year, have tons of new players this year (still learning Bubba's system, etc.) and playing our first game against an FBS opponent on the road. I am a believer! Bubba will turn things around for us but no one should be too upset if we lose by 15-20 points - AS LONG AS we play disciplined and passionate football!

This offer was made in early August but I don't think it has been mentioned here: Donnell Rodgers, 6'1", 210, 4.6, St. Paul (Woodbury), MN Different sources have him recruited as a RB or LB. I would guess we are looking at him as a LB but I am not sure.

I was going to post the same question - very concerning!

I have not lived in GF for many years. Enlighten me - what is on the MN side of the river where a southside bridge may be built?l

Welcome to the board! Thanks for the info on Tristyn. Based on your name, you must be from Lakeville. What else can you tell us about either Engwall or Hanson? Hanson has a couple of other offers - is he leaning one way or the other yet?
-
New offer: CB Brian Hanserd, 6'2", 185, Glen Ellyn (College of DuPage), IL JC Player

I assume our coaching staff is aware of their interest in UND? I see Tavernier is a relatively small town but if you play in a metro Miami league and the twins have those types of honors, they must be good! Welcome to the board - are you related to the twins?

Quite a tweet regarding the Hass commitment: Minnesota Fury AAU @MinnesotaFury ยท Aug 12 Congratulations to Olivia Hass on her verbal to the University of North Dakota!! Steal of the year, mark it down! @CoachBrewU @CoachPollari

Three: Evers, Lauck and Burck. I don't know for sure who was on scholarship but I suppose a couple of the other girls may be losing their $.

Appears to be another good "get". Ladies certainly don't like their weight discussed but she is a big girl (200 lbs) - she won't be pushed around underneath the basket. With five commitments already, I wonder if that means we have no interest in the Stewart girl from Minot. I thought we would go after her as she apprears to be pretty good and her dad & uncle played at UND.

OT Ben Shoults has verballed to Harvard.

Two comments: 1) Be prepared to be reminded of your comment regarding "SU being lucky to make the playoffs" about four months from now! 2) This is a UND website - why in the helll are we wasting any time talking about SU??

I didn't see the game - should he have come down with it?

The vast majority of our 19 offerees have picked up a bunch of offers over the last 10 days. They all have at least one offer with most having 5+. Six of the kids have 10 or more offers. This tells me that we are obviously recruiting some very talented prospects but the many offers will make our landing a couple of these kids very difficult. We should be elated if we do get any of them. Wiki has been updated.

My opinion: This being August, I wouldn't consider a commitment received now (or in the last few weeks) to be early. It is becoming more commonplace for a prospect to make his decision prior to the start of the HS season. At the FCS level, there aren't a great deal of kids changing their minds and going elsewhere (although it does happen). Most schools have seen a prospect at camp and on film so they have a good idea of their talent level. So if a school has "done its homework", I don't think there is much risk - other than the player having a serious injury during his senior season. Therefore, I think getting a bunch of commitments at this time of the year is great - I wish we had more than one. That said, we often compare ourselves to NDSU. They are on such a roll right now that recruiting is relatively easy for them - for good reason. I follow recruiting very closely and most FCS teams have commitments from very few players. When I looked at this a few days ago, the recruiting websites had SU with 10 but no one else (that we compare ourselves to) even had five (SDSU had 4). I am sure it isn't fact but Montana, MSU, USD didn't show any commitments yet. Wyoming only had three. Again, these services certianly don't provide 100% accurate info. Bottom line - I would love to have 10 or so commitments but only having one doesn't overly concern me. Bubba and has crew will bring in a very talented recruiting class.

I would guess that the roster currently posted on UNDsports.com includes all the players that were expected. We will see if it changes over the next couple of days. Any no-shows may also be mentioned in the Press Day coverage. I would think the roster will be updated with current weights as well. Some of the weights listed were from spring ball while some of the true freshmen weights were from their HS team a year ago.
