He played one year at City College of San Francisco, then transferred to Reedley College (didn’t play there) before again transferring to Fresno City College. He would have two years of eligibility remaining. Lots of moving around!! Not necessarily a good sign!

Depending where you look, he is listed at both 6'8" and 6'10", weights 245. Averaged 16.6 and 7.4 as a sophomore on a 28-4 team. He started 21 of the 32 games played. Shot 64% from the field on 63% FTs. This is only offer at this point.

I like this group as it appears it contains good scoring talent but especially a bunch of ladies with good fundamentals and leadership skills - something that we have lacked the last few years. Pequot Lakes is a small school so I assume Lane didn't play against too many girls her size but she put up some great numbers (25 & 13). She is also a good track athlete - I hope she can contribute right away. As Roger noted, VanLoo played on some great teams. She would have definitely played against good competition but didn't have great numbers (9 & 5.6). Hopefully, she can provide help inside right away. As far as I know, Emma Anderson is still coming. She had a knee injury this last season and didn't play a great deal.

I posted the following last week. You are correct that the original capacity of the Betty was to be in the low 4,000s. It was built quickly as they wanted it done before UND hosted the World Junior Hockey Tourney in December, '04. There was not much planning that went into it and seating was scaled back significantly at the last minute. "The size of the Betty was decided by the Ralph. In fact, when construction began, Coach Glas understood that the seating would be for 4,100. Still too small but would have been much bigger/better than what we ended up with!"

I recommend that anyone concerned about the men's BB program or the overall status of athletics at UND send Chaves a well-written letter of concern. Bill is a good guy who doesn't like to lose. I believe he will do all he can to address the issues. However, it won't be accomplished overnight. That said, he should know the level of concern that so many of us share. UND.AD@und.edu

For those who follow recruiting closely, a ton of prospects has been added to WIKI. These are kids who have been invited to our Jr. Day and/or summer camp.

Last fall when we landed Eikens, I know we thought there was a very good chance of also getting a commitment from a "big". I don't know who it was or if he is still available. I have no inside information on this but I would think we will lose at least one guard during the offseason so a good PG would be good. However, if we only do have one scholarship available, I would prefer to use it on a big - someone to replace Avants. Rebraca needs to stay at the 4 and I don't think Schmidt will be ready to step in yet.

Yeah - there are probably 4-5 for each signee. However, that would be total offers. Many offers are withdrawn throughout the recruiting process for a variety of reasons.

I agree - if SU wants him (and I assume they will), he should be a lock for the Bison!
