  1. Thanks - Carr has been added. I made quite a few other updates on Wiki this morning - let me know if I have missed anything else.

Jim - I continue to get the below message when attempting to access Wiki. Any suggestions - attempting to "run the installer" does not do anything. Thanks! DokuWiki Setup Error The datadir ('pages') does not exist, isn't accessible or writable. You should check your config and permission settings. Or maybe you want to run the installer?
  4. Thanks for your post and your interest in, and loyalty to, the program. I agree with all of your thoughts. Do you have any thoughts/ideas as to what the athletic department can do to create interest among the students? If we can win, that will sure help but we need students now to help us win. Do you think a few players and a coach or two attending a meeting set up by the athletic department in some of the dorms and frat/sorority houses would help? They could give away UND football stuff, answer questions, etc. What else would have an impact? Not only do we need students, we need them to stay for the whole game.
  5. Wiki isn't working for me either. I had heard that we may have offered Miller but had been unable to confirm it. I know we have Favors and Carr as offered and I think Phillips as well. I know that SU had offered Benoit but I am not sure he was on our list. Thanks for the info - I will update Wiki as soon as I can get in there.
  6. Gerber was the most important. The second doesn't come to mind right now. Let me do a little research. It could be that the other one just finished his soph. year rather than freshman.
  7. This team has a ton of talented freshmen - I just hope we can keep them on campus. This year, a couple of really good sophomores-to-be elected to play elsewhere.
  8. Thanks for the info. Who else is recruitng Bell? Do you know of other WI athletes who attended our spring game?
  9. Latest offer: Ath Nate Phillips, 5'10", 175, Chandler (Basha), AZ Has offer from UNA
  10. UND has offered a shooting guard from Pekin, IL. He averaged about 14 points a game as a junior. A lot of folks have offered! SG Nate Taphorn, 6'7”, 175, Pekin (Pekin), IL Has offers from Bradley, CSU, Creighton, Drake, Green Bay, Miami (OH), Northwestern, S IL and IL-Chicago
  11. Thanks for the update, Ira - what is the latest projection on the total cost of the facility?
  12. Iowa offer: Ath Trev Hadachek, 5'11”, 170, 4.5, La Porte City (Union), IA Has offer from E IL
  13. I think is was amazing that Malik Rucker was in GF for the spring game (I assume he was there). For him to make to trip when he has offers from so many big time programs adds a lot of credibility to our recruiting efforts this off season. If there were 50 or so recruits on campus, someone must have heard who else was there or seen their letterwinner's jacket! Who else was in town?
  14. The latest known offer: DT Brad Ambrosius, 6'5”, 225, West De Pere (West De Pere), WI
  15. So how was the overall atmosphere? Do you think the recruits and their parents were impressed? Do we know some of the recruits who attended?
  16. I am also ignorant - how is USD "paying for it"?
  17. Hopefully, these are couple good additions to the team. As noted, Traylor was a good HS player in the cities and apparently went the JC route due to grades (nothing wrong with that - it happens with a lot of kids). He should fit the power forward mold quite well. He graduated the same year as Aaron Anderson. It is interesting to see Anderson listed as 6'2" on some of the lists back then! Salmonson apparently was a late bloomer at his HS (Colfax in Auburn, CA). Didn't play much until his senior year. I would guess he went to JC to work on his game, mature, etc. His stats were interesting (odd) this last year. In one game, he scored 39 points (16-19 FG, 7-9 FT and 16 boards). In another game, he went 15-15 from the field and scored 30 points. I saw where he scored 18 and 22 in other games. It seems odd that he averaged less than 10 pts. per game. That would mean, in those four games, he scored 37% of his season total and averaged 27+ per game. He averaged less than 7 points in the other 27 games. His team was 18-13 and he played in all 31 games. I don't know if he may have played with some injuries. He shot 71% on the FT line and didn't get into foul trouble averaging less than 2.5 fouls per game. My comments about Salmonson aren't meant to be negative - just mentioning some odd stats. Hopefully, they will be two great additions. It would be nice if we could find a little more offense up front but I guess there is no more scholarship $ available. I am still somewhat surprised that a couple of the veterans will apparently be back with their scholarships.
  18. Next offer: WR Tyler Lloyd, 6'2", 190, Muscatine (Muscatine) IA
  19. I know we have had 3-4 kids in over the last couple of weekends but had not been aware of any commitments. I hope your source is correct!
  20. Agree - I concur with each of your points!
  21. We really don't need to debate this any further but why would Edgy Tim just be reporting UND and not USD offers. I don't visit other schools boards but I understand (per the avid SU fan base) that you can count their known offers on one hand (maybe a couple of fingers). They follow recruiting we do in hockey - they would likely know about at least most of their offers. Do I think Dale has just made one offer? Of course not - as I said, no one really knows what offers are made but unless UND and SDSU are leaking this info into the media (and they are restricted from doing so and I don't believe they are dumb enough to do so), they have to be recruiting in a different manner than most of the other peer universities. You can have the last word, if you like, but then let's end the debate. It really isn't necessary.
  22. Please understand that the following is not intended to be critical of our very proactive recruiting strategy but I do need to disagree with your statement "That amount of offers is par for the course in D1 football". It certainly is the case with the major bowl-eligible D1 teams but it isn't the norm at our level. If you assume that Rivals is a reasonably good source of FB recruiting data, the following are examples that very few FCS schools are doing this. These are number of athletes (by school) being recruited who have offers from someone - not necessarily offers by that school. This means that the individual college's actual number of offers may be less than the number shown below. School Recruits UND 27 (per various sources, we know we have made at least 33 offers) Montana 2 Montana St. 1 USD 6 NDSU 1 S Illinois 1 N Arizona 2 Richmond 0 Appalachan St 1 IL St 8 SDSU 23 (appears to be the only other school with a similar recruiting model) UNI 1 Cal Poly 1 IN St 1 Sac St 0 GA Southern 7 N Colorado 0 S. F. Austin 0 UC Davis 0 W IL 1 Youngstown 0 Even some of the bowl-eligible schools have not started to actively make offers: Fresno 7 S Diego St 0 E MI 0 Bowling Green 0 Wyoming 0 Toledo 0 San Jose St 0 UTEP 0 Some are a little more active: CSU 18 Ball St 27 The above certainly is not a scientific study but I believe it does tell a story - it would appear that no one (outside of SDSU) is making offers anywhere near the number that we are handing out. I also realize that Rivals is probably more up-to-date in some geographic areas than others but if you simply compare our offers to other schools in the midwest, you should be reasonably close to comparing "apples-to-apples"! Again, I am not looking to argue about the strategy - I like it and sincerely hope it is effective!
  23. Two more offers: OL Max Rich, 6'7", 280, Portland (Jesuit), OR DT Garrett Cary, 6'4", 265, Walwork (Bigfoot), WI As I said before, I applaud our aggressiveness and all these offers sure make it enjoyable for those of us who follow FB recruiting closely. However, I hope we aren't going overrboard. If an offered recruit goes on Rivals (as I am sure most do) and sees that UND has so many offers out there, I hope they don't ask themselves "does UND really want me when they have already have 10 offers out to defensive linemen?". I would guess that coaching staff is explaining our philosophy to these kids - I hope so!
  24. The PR we get from Edgy Tim write-ups like this certainly can't hurt our efforts to continue to make inroads in IL.
  25. The latest offer: RB Tre Favors, 5'10", 180, Glendale (Mountain Ridge), AZ Has offer from SDSU
