  1. Then I guess the new name of SiouxSports.com is Jim'swebsiteforUniversityofNorthDakotaSports.com!!! I'd vote to keep it SiouxSports.com, myself.
  2. I asked Jim this same question a while back in the Administration section of the site, and he said that he would change the name to be something similar to the new nickname.
  3. The best announcement they could make would be that they're applying to or joining the WCHA!
  4. I'll withhold comment until after tonight's game.
  5. Care to venture what the outcome of a vote would be on the other tribe? I'd put money that it is very similar to the vote at the Spirit Lake tribe.
  6. I am. However, I don't want to overlook Carolina tonight. Let's revisit this after tonight's game - if the B's win.
  7. In case you missed it, the Spirit Lake tribe voted 3 to 1 in support of the name...
  8. This is a sad, sad day. Giving in to a minority who just want something to complain about. If this decision was expedited because of the Summit League, that is really sad...who gives a flying F about the Summit League?
  9. I didn't realize it earlier, but it was Oshie in the box when Russia scored the game winning goal.
  10. Russia has carried the play in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd, but US just got a PP.

The Force got WORKED last night. In any and all facets of the game, completely worked over. Not something you typically see from a Dean Blais coached team. It'll be very interesting to see how they respond on Friday. On a side note, I was hoping someone from the Force would step up, but nobody did. Birkholz (future Gopher) and Cichy (future Sioux) got into a bit of a scrum in front of the net that I thought might escalate, but from where I was standing, Birkholz didn't want any part of it. That may have to do with Blais not wanting him to, or it may have to do with him being a perfect fit as a future Gopher - you make the call.
  12. Jim Balsillie is back in the picture, and sounds like he's going to put an offer in on the team contingent that he can move it to Hamilton, Ontario. I'd rather have the Winnipeg Jets back!
  13. I get the same questions from my friends, and although it makes my stomach queasy that these 2 play for the B's, as long as they're in Boston it's nice to see that they're doing good. If they get traded or go somewhere via free agency, then adios. I'm a Bruin fan, and to take a line from Herb Brooks - it's about the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back.

I'm sure most of you already know, but Indiana beat the Force 5-2 Saturday night, so it's guaranteed that there will be 2 games this week in Fargo. The games are Wednesday and Friday this week.

    The train keeps rollin'...
  16. Indiana and Mike Cichy finished off Green Bay tonight by the score of 5-3. Forney with 2 assists in the loss and Cichy with 3 assists in the win. Fargo will go to Indiana and it sounds like the first game will be played either this Friday or Saturday, and then back in Fargo the following weekend. The schedule for the finals will be released tomorrow, but will be a great chance to see Cichy in the finals in Fargo, along with just some great overall hockey.
  17. Headline on Forum on-line: WCHA commissioner says Minnesota State Moorhead a 'long way away' from getting into conference
  18. HA...I was just going to say...sounds eerily familiar!
  19. From the sounds of this article, it sounds as if Bemidji State will know today whether they're in or not. Bemidji State will learn whether its men's hockey team will be admitted to WCHA this afternoon
  20. Short article on Thomas's path to the NHL. Thomas will return to Boston

It's one thing for a team to play well...it's another for a team to go 6-0 in the playoffs and end up in the final in the team's first year of existence.

Force win tonight 2-0 and are headed to the Clark Cup finals. 6-0 in the playoffs in your first year as a franchise is pretty damn impressive!
