Watching the Charlie Jacobs and Cam Neely press conference about the Chiarelli firing. Reporter asks Jacobs what specifically did Chiarelli do to get fired. Jacobs danced around it and said out of respect for Chiarelli he'd rather not get into it. Reporter pushed back and said something along the lines of "Out of respect for the fans who'd like to know details and what he did wrong, what changes you're looking for moving ahead, etc. can you be more specific" and Jacobs couldn't answer the question. He squirmed and said "Cam, can you help me out here?". I don't like this.

Paging MafiaMan.... Goon? Bueller?

Fleury did have 10 shutouts this year, so I'm hoping he can keep these games close and low scoring - all while getting swept in the 1st round! If we don't have a "fleury" of entries come in here in the next 4 hours or so, it's just going to be you and I, Sicatoka - head to head!
-
HA...agreed. I thought one option here would be Detroit's goalie, but the "4 start" wrinkle in the rules prevented me from picking one of them. Not sure Mrazek's going to make it out of that series. I was also debating Carey Price. I think that Ottawa may/can/will win that series but Price could also win it for the Canadiens.

Stamkos (TBL) Tavares (NYI) Toews (CHI) Nash (NYR) Hossa (CHI) Johnson (TBL) Byfuglien (WIN) Keith (CHI) Yandle (NYR) Hedman (TBL) Fleury (PIT)

OK...sounds good. I'll have to change my goalie pick then!
-
Comment/question (and I don't mean to be that guy)...the way you have the points set up, for goalies you'd want to pick a goalie who's team loses out 1st round so they don't let in more goals as the playoffs go on. Maybe should do something like 1 point per win and 3 per shutout?

Un-F'n-Believable... Bruins fire GM Peter Chiarelli

If we win tonight we should make sure that someone is with gfhockey. Even though the next game wouldn't be until Saturday, it's possible that we'd need someone to grab gfhockey's hands and use them to type and start the game day thread, a la Bernie Lomax. And I don't care how it has to get done, but gfhockey's hands must do the typing! With that, I'm done talking about Saturday. 1 game at a time...
-
So gfhockey's at the 'club' before the big game tonight?

The game day thread was started at 10:05 Central time - 11:05 Eastern. I would guess that this is the first thing that gfhockey did when he woke up. That's a good sign that gfhockey did it up right last night, and a great sign for the Sioux tonight!
-
Someone needs to create a sign for tomorrow's game...either: "Eichel...we're comin' for ya!" or "BU...we're comin' for ya!" Something like that...

Where are you seeing this? Can you post a pic or link? In Schlossman's articles (with pictures) the boards were all white.

I posted this in another thread. People keep saying that the NC$$ says that we have to choose a new nickname, however this seems to contradict that, coming from Kelley's mouth. Just wanted to point this out.
-
For some reason I find myself reading your post and thinking "Yeah, you're right...this makes so much sense" and then I think about what's taken place in the past X years regarding the nickname and I find myself starting to hyperventilate.
-
Correct. It'll look something like this: How mnya natyts Blai got? Hw mny natts Hka gto? Simpel qesuttns.
-
So you listened to KFAN today, I see? Oh wait...I suppose he told you this over drinks at the bar. Or maybe you 2 hashed it out over drinks and he used the insight that he gleaned from your conversation for his interview on KFAN. I just can't keep up any more...
-
I was positive you'd say a Liger.
-
Actually, if it's Zane that means that the Sioux win! I'm praying for Zane. Murphy can wait until next year.
-
You've got to be loving how everything sits right now, gfhockey. If Hak and the team don't seal the deal this year, you'll be able to keep up your schtick. If Hak and team beat UNO for the championship, you can just tweak it a bit and still criticize the $hit out of him because he beat your (and the GOBC's) best buddy. I suppose the worst case scenario is that Hak wins it but they beat Providence for the championship. Heck, even then you can say "well, he didn't beat Blais" and can speculate how Blais would have outcoached him if they'd have met for all the marbles.

I don't know what you're trying to do here Dave....wait...yes I do. You always play the contrarian. I'm not denying anything. In fact, my direct quote was "Boston certainly is not a lock and needs to finish well to make the playoffs..." But you coming on here and for some reason thinking and saying that Boston is in greater danger of missing the playoffs that any of those teams (Pittsburgh, Detroit or Ottawa) is just plain stupid. I get why you do it - you like to be that guy and think you're getting under the skin of the Bruins fans on here, but this one makes absolutely no sense, and everyone on here can see it. All of those teams are going to have to sprint to the finish and play well. You never know what other teams are going to do - will teams like the NYR, NYI, Wash, TB and Montreal rest guys since they're in? Will Florida fold since they put forth a lot of energy to stay in the race and were recently eliminated, or will they now want to play spoiler? Philly has been playing tough (especially against your beloved Penguins). How will they close out the season's last game vs. Ottawa? And the big one - how will the Tuesday night tilt between Pittsburgh and Ottawa play out?! That's one that your boys better be ready for...
-
Dave...Boston certainly is not a lock and needs to finish well to make the playoffs, but you really do need to get off the "Boston is in greater danger blah blah blah". Wake up and get a clue. Have you looked at the standings after yesterday? There are 3 teams that have 95 points (Boston, Pitt and Detroit) and the Senators have 93 points, all with 3 games left to play. None of these teams are safe yet, and Pitt plays Ottawa tomorrow in probably the biggest game that any of these teams has remaining. Here are their remaining schedules: Boston - @Wash, @Florida, @TB Detroit - Carolina, @Montreal, @Carolina Pittsburgh - @Ottawa, NYI, @Buffalo Ottawa - Pitt, @NYR, @Philly

LOL...this thread is top notch! UNDBIZ - that was funny! gfhockey - "Please no videoing either". That is CLASSIC!
