  1. After the Thursday game I went out for a coffee before my long ride home from St. Louis and someone saw my Sioux jersey and yelled, St. Louis supports the Sioux, that elbowing call was a bunch of crap! A few of the penalities were very weak and did have an impact on the game. Porter's second penalty was a check not a charge. Even the Maine fan sitting next to me agreed it was weak. Whatever the case, Porter and Finley didn't really need to be that agressive on either of those plays. The penalties were the result of not being disciplined. Neither hit by Porter or Finley was necessary at the time and may have cost the Sioux the game. It seems to be a problem with the Sioux at times. Maybe next season they will learn?
  2. Buckysieve, last time I checked the Sioux finished the season as one of the top 4 teams in the nation? In the final national poll the Sioux were ranked #2 and the Gophers #3? I am pretty sure that leaves the Gophers with a lower ranking! Whatever the ranking and whatever the hardware, both teams had great seasons. The last two matchups were two of the best Sioux vs. Gophers games I have seen in years. Any reason we can't just leave it at that?
  3. Hey buckysieve, We will see if your opinion stays the same the next time the Sioux win the McNaughton and Broadmoor but get beat in the Regionals while the Gophers go to the Frozen Four. Conference titles are nice but they don't mean much unless your team makes it to the Frozen Four. They look pretty in the arena and take up space and give teams that don't advance to the Frozen Four something to feel good about but the Big Dance is what competition is all about. While I am happy with the Sioux winning the Broadmoor last season it didn't mean much after they lost to BC in the Frozen Four. If the Gophers didn't lose 3 out of 4 games to the Sioux this season I could see why you might think the Gophers were the better team because of the hardware you picked up this year but since the record speaks for itself you might want to rethink what you are saying? The Sioux and Gophers matchup was close this year at the end of the season but the Sioux won the game that mattered most to advance to the Frozen Four. If the situation was reversed I would be saying the same thing about the Gophers.
  4. Isn't anybody able to post the final 5 minutes on You Tube or PM me a video file of the Final 5 minutes that I can watch? I was at the game but I still want to see the Final Five minutes of video. Can someone help a brother out?
  5. I think it is worth noting the length of time Dave Hakstol has been coaching vs. Jerry York. Jerry York has an impressive resume especially in his 13 years with the BC Eagles. The guy has been coaching for 35 freakin years!! The semifinal lose to BC last year was one of the strangest games I have seen in the many years I have watched college hockey. It seemed BC had someone in the right place at the right time more often then I can remember in a single hockey game. I was at the game last night and noticed that they were using a similiar strategy as last year by clogging up the middle of the rink and posting a threat high in that zone most of the game yet again. Jerry York is a great coach. This year I think we were outcoached and outplayed by a great BC organization. They seemed to be faster, more disciplined with their breakouts and with the way they moved the puck. They were the faster and more talented team this time. This isn't taking anything away from the Sioux. I really do think that Jerry York's 35 years of college coaching experience beat us the past two seasons to Dave Hakstol's three years. Take a look at these stats: Jerry York Stats: http://www.uscho.com/stats/coachYxY.php?cid=21&gender=m Dave Hakstol Stats: http://www.uscho.com/stats/coachYxY.php?ci...14&gender=m Just as Jerry York's results have improved Dave Hakstol's will as well. Hak is a young coach in years behind the bench and his actual age. It sure would be fun if college hockey had a playoff setup like the NHL with best of 7 series or best of 5 or whatever series with the Final Four teams or something. I would love to see the 2007 BC and UND teams play a best of 7 to see who would come out on top. Same goes with Maine and Michigan State. One and out games are tough especially the way the Sioux and Eagles play against eachother come playoff time.
  6. As painful as it was to watch the final 5 minutes of the game with the rest of college hockey's best fans in St. Louis, when I returned home I wanted to see the final five minutes but my DVR ran out of space and stopped recording right when Finley got the elbowing penalty. I was curious to see the final five minutes. If anyone has it and can post it I would appreciate it. Thanks, Scott
  7. I went to the Frozen Four at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee last year and drank beer while I was there. I am not sure if Disco Balls are allowed in though? They tend to lead to irregular body movements that are inappropriate for children to see!
  8. anyone having problems making the webcast full screen?
  9. Hey, how did you get my picture.
  10. SiouxFanatic, I was just screwing around. i just felt like calling someone a buttface! I can't watch any of the freakin games at home so I am ticked. I thought i was going to be able to see the games on CN8 like I did last year. Just poking fun at you for sounding a little lippy!
  11. Actually I have read that stuff already. Keep the lip to yourself buttface!
  12. someone said earlier that they live in Boston and they aren't able to get the games either so I think CN8 is having problems or something?
  13. Your computer has an IP address that identifies your location when you are searching on the internet. Haven't you ever been to a website with advertising for the area you live and wondered, hey, how did they know I lived in this area? They use your IP address and so does CN8.TV.
  14. PCM, how did you find out about this link? Inside connections??? I may be a happy camper if the Sioux vs. Michigan game is on tomorrow like it says that it is! :-)
  15. okay, i am 2 for 1 on my picks! :-) now ND is going to be too tired to make it too the final 4, well maybe anyway? :-)
  16. i don't have the Irish game on tv, are there many fans at the game? the Joe Louis was empty for the Michigan vs. Michigan State game. it was pathetic.
  17. i knew it was going to happen and i still picked SCSU in my picks. well, maybe UMass will beat Maine and make the FF4 so i am not totally screwed on my picks!
  18. aha goalie must be playing headless! shots 38-17 Irish
  19. I think I might have been smoking some crack thinking that the Irish were actually a good team this year. Maybe I was just thinking a Fighting Irish vs. Fighting Sioux would be a cool final! It would be fun to see the Sioux kick some Irish ass. What would the NCAA do then?
  20. I am hoping UMASS gets past Maine/St.Cloud. It seems like they have been working their butts off and winning some hard fought games.
  21. I am ticked, I was going to pick Maine because they were getting their goalie Ben Bishop back after being out for the past 6 games. Maine lost all 6 games without him which impacted how they finished up the year a lot. I knew I should've picked AF to beat the Gophers too. Crap!
  22. I think the reason we are on tape delay Saturday has a lot to do with the possibility that Notre Dame may be in the Midwest Final and they will potentially draw a large viewing audience. Plus, it is a regional FINAL game and not a Semifinal game. I am not sure how ESPNU will show the Midwest Regional starting at 7:30PM and hope that it is over in 2 1/2 hours and start showing the Sioux game at 10PM??? Hopefully it will be on FSSN and they will broadcast it on the internet feed LIVE at 6:30. For those interested in CN8.TV here is a link to their schedule at http://ne.cn8.tv/channel/channelhome.asp?lChannelID=661 . Just go to the CN8 Live Sports Coverage area on the right bottom part of the page and choose College Hockey in the drop down menu. They don't say anything in the schedule about the Saturday game but it might be on at 10PM even though it is not on the schedule since they are broadcasting ESPNU games over this feed. If the Sioux advance to the final and it isn't on TV in your area, you might be able to watch the game on Sunday via the CN8.TV internet feed at 5PM CST since it is on the schedule. Hopefully I will be able to see the game(s) live somewhere in the Chicago area!
  23. I watched some of the Michigan vs. Michigan State game this past weekend and the Sioux look like they are in a completly different league than both teams. It was like watching a high school hockey game or something compared to the Sioux vs. St. Cloud game. Same goes with the Sioux/Gophers compared to the Notre Dame/Michigan game. The level of play in the WCHA seems so much higher. I was thinking it could be an interesting game for the Gophers on Friday with Air Force playing at a home area rink in front of their fans and AF also being used to the altitude, etc.... The Gophs will have some time to adjust but nothing like Air Force. The high altitude won't be as much of a factor in the Sioux/Michigan game since both schools are from up North but could be in that first game of the day. Go Air Force and Sioux!
  24. Anyone else notice how classy the Gopher fans were doing the sieve chant to Phil after a game like that. Says a lot about the type of fans they have when the do a sieve chant after the end of a hard fought game by both teams. What a joke!!! Glad to be done playing at their home field advantage rink for this year! Sioux looked pretty flat tonight. Hopefully they can pick it up again for the rest of the games. The Gophers played much better than they did the last time we met. Things will be different next time when they don't have the home field advantage!
