P.S. Last time (and only time) I was at the Ralph was for Opening Night vs. the Goofs. Saw Ralph come on to center ice and get a HUGE standing ovation from the crowd. That was a great moment. Please, people. Post whatever you know is going on. Those of us who are travelling would love to hear.

I'm super-pumped to be coming back to G.F. for the WJC's. My biggest question is... what kind of celebrations/festivals/business promotions are going on? If you are a restaurant owner, please let us know ahead of time what kind of specials you will be having. If you know of a festival/celebration, please post it here. I haven't been home for Christmas in 10 years. Man, I'm jazzed!

That's what I'm sometimes about, too. Criticize the current situation, because you have immense pride in the program. Stick with the team forever, because you have immense pride in the program. Bleed green (or maroon, or whatever). As for whether UND is "chippy," they are. But not any more so than most WCHA teams. Almost every team has one or two guys who are "instigators." For UND, those guys are Greene & Prpich this year. And they are damn good at it! Greene nearly kills someone every game. Prpich is excellent at getting under opponents' skin by walking a fine line throughout the games. Welcome to hockey like it is played at the next level. They do it there, too. Not that you Dogs fans deserve any lecturing...you are among the best hockey fans. Not arrogant or nasty, just dedicated. Not to worry, Sandelin will come through; if not this year, soon. Go Sioux! Great breakout game, tonight. I don't think they liked losing to UAA last Saturday. Let's hope they carry that fire over to tomorrow.

This hockey team is a letdown. So much experience. So little development. Crash the net! Stop prancing around behind the net, pushing the puck back and forth. Pull it off the wall, pass to someone IN FRONT OF THE NET, shoot. You didn't see UAA trying to establish cycling behind our net that went back and forth. They worked the corners, then cut to the net directly. If it went behind the net, they generally tried to pass back across the grain and hit a forward cutting in. Our forwards are wasting their time (and effort) out there. It's getting old.

Sioux work rate was pretty good in that period, but the shots on net were not very good chances. Prpich should have had one with an open net. Refs are calling very weak interference penalties. Not allowing what should be legal checks (especially Bina's). Lame hockey that way. Sioux need to go hard to the net and get better quality shots. Go Sioux.

The PSU website has some stories on their team, but I found this one more interesting. http://morningsun.net/stories/120204/psu_20041202003.shtml Looks like Belmore is slated to start the game, with Lennon willing to toss John in there should things not go well. I have the feeling Belmore is going to have a big game, along with Dressler and Johnson. Let's hope so.

Anyone heard what has happened to Moreland lately? I looked on the FM Jets site, and they only have him playing in 3 games w. 1 assist to date. Otherwise (as mentioned) , our signed forwards for next season are tearing it up in the BCHL: Watkins 18 + 17 = 35 in 29 games Kozek 26 + 20 = 46 in 29 games Duncan 19 + 19 = 38 in 24 games

Obvious: Jeff Panzer. Hometown hero. Less mentioned: David Hale. Wow! Could that guy throw his body around. I remember opponents' reactions to getting hit by him. It was sort of a "tense up and then fly through the air backward" thing. A truly gifted checker. Too bad we lost him prior to his senior season, or we may have seen UND hoisting #8.

Be nice, folks. Some gopher fans deserve to be told to take a hike, but this guy actually posts interesting stuff, with the exception of the "STD incident". And perhaps the "Irmen stinks" thread. Okay, my point is dwindling.

I love to see GF kids setting records at the DI level. Boo-Yah!

Ever since beating UND in the Saturday game, the Goofs have gone on a tear. Pretty impressive, given the preseason assessments of too much youth and lost leadership. IMO, UM is the surprise team of the Fall. IMO, they will be the team that falls on their faces sometime in February/March. As has been circulated many times in these early season, teeth-gnashing UND threads, the Goofer-paraded anthem of "Its not how you do in November..." is what really matters, and is going to come back to haunt them in March, if there is a God that pays any attention to sports. Go Sioux!

Just wanted to shout out to Sioux fans all over this great country. Happy Thanksgiving! There is much to be thankful for in my life. I hope you all feel the same. Sioux hockey helped get me through some very tough years in the recent past. I'll always remember that. Lastly.... "God bless the Fighting Sioux." When I hear that on the radio or see it in advertisements, it always cracks me up! I miss G.F. sometimes.

Thanks for the tip. Given the reliability (or lack thereof) of Dataflix this season, it is good to have a backup, even if I've already paid for the whole season of Sioux webcasts.
