  1. Okay. I just talked to my "contacts" in G.F., and we are a "go" for the Frozen Four". Wow! It's been 4 years since I've been able to follow the Sioux to the big dance. Who is going? Does anyone know good places in Columbus to meet? Let's coordinate. Go Sioux!
  2. Just a "shout out" to Hakstol and Berry & Eades. Great job with these guys. This is a team that was on the cusp of packing it in 5 weeks ago. Now, they are the hottest team in the country. When many were questioning whether Hak had the right stuff to be head coach, I just remembered a two minute meeting with the man during the WJC's. He seemed like a real solid character, with enough class to let a guy like me just walk up to him in the concourse of the Ralph and demand his time. Ditto for his wife. Nice folk. Never doubted his potential. Glad to see it coming around. This Sioux team, in MY pre-season assessment, should have won the WCHA. Of course, that doesn't mean a hill of beans. However, of late, they are proving me right, which I love! Please continue to show how smart I am (joke). Go Sioux!
  3. Many of us "thunk it"; many of us were disappointed with how the seaon went, until the last 5 or 6 weeks. With all those seniors, this should have been the Sioux's year. With a little luck, it will be!
  4. This team has done what no team since 2000 has been able to do - play better at the end of the season than at the start. For all the flash and "W"s the Bochenski-Parise combo provided, they couldn't seem to get it done in the playoffs. Congrats to a great finish to the season, win or lose tonight. The grit and work ethic of this team has been phenomenal of late.
  5. One way is to go to fightingsioux.com, click the "Live Broadcasts" link, scroll to the bottom of that page, and click "Listen to hockey"
  6. This is one of those days that I love having a desk job. Not too much pressure on me today, and I get to listen to the big game (Assuming the feed works). Here's hoping that Fabian-Canady-Massen pot another one today. Go Sioux!
  7. This season has often been painful, with UND losing games they should have won. Given last weekend's seeming turnaround, let's hope the Sioux are ready to take it to the Huskies. Huskies...are you kidding me? Why have a name at all if you are going to have the same name as dozens of other teams?
  8. Our young talent is great, and that has helped ease the losses. But the upperclassmen, with the exception of Genoway, have failed to develop year-over-year. UND needs senior leadership out of these guys, and part of that is performing. There is no "Skarperud" on this year's team. The most frustrating thing is that, with 10 upperclassmen skating regularly, the Sioux are around .500. THAT might be unprecidented.
  9. Postgame interview: Hak says the team is going to have trouble staying mentally sharp after winning one of the last 6 games. However, he looks forward to getting Murray and McMahon back for the last 6 games. Can this team recover? I kind of doubt it. The poor streak has been too long. It would be a miracle for UND to do anything substantial this season.
  10. Empty netter called off, but still swept at home. Yes, they were shorthanded. However, the same old stuff was evident. Missed chances. Stupid penalties. Lack of development and leadership. Lousy season, as judged by those who have watched the Sioux for more than a few years.
  11. 2 min's to go. Penalty on Jones. TH sounds bored. What a season. We'll be lucky to be a top 5 team.
  12. Next year's team could very well be better, with the recruits we've got coming in, and our best talent a year older.
  13. The most frustrating thing about the Sioux recently is that, with all the gifts they have been given, they still have not been able to field a team competitive enough to get back to the Frozen Four. They have the best weight room in college hockey - the best arena, a great tradition. Yet, since moving into the Ralph...
  14. This team is so frustrating to watch. Of course, that doesn't stop me.
  15. Schneider and Pork-o-which (SP?) nearly go at it, but Andy decides against it. Given that our chances of coming back without somebody making a big gesture are slim, I wish he had dropped the gloves. We need someone on this team to show he has a pair.
  16. Given that UND is incapable of scoring 4 goals, I'd say this one is over.
  17. DU scores within a minute. Bina loses his man. What a surprise.
  18. Stafford scores! Fylling gave him a great feed. 2nd PP goal tonight. 2-3 now.
  19. Another freakin' goalpost by Bina. This team is absolutely cursed.
  20. DU 5 of 6 on the PP this weekend, if you count the one where Fylling had just left the box. 5 of 6? That SUCKS!
  21. 3-1 DU. Fylling's man was left alone in front of the net. Fylling very frustrated.
  22. Schneider again on a pick interference. Inconsistent reffing.
