  1. Field lacrosse is played on Football fields at most schools that do not have a dedicated field. It would easily fit inside the Alerus Center.
  2. I am from the East coast, and co-own a lacrosse camp in NY here are just a few stats for why lacrosse should be brought in: Numbers from US Lacrosse Participation Study 2005: In 1990 less than 12,000 players in the United States In 2005: 186,000+ Youth Lacrosse Players 133,000+ High School lacrosse players 23,000 Division I, II, and III lacrosse players Over 8,000 club college lacrosse players 150 professional lacrosse players While the majority of varsity collegiate lacrosse programs are still located along the Eastern seaboard, Lacrosse is expanding throughout the country at he collegiate level. Teams from outside of he traditional Lacrosse hotbeds have been experiencing great success. In Women
  3. Maybe we are at a disadvantage having the possibility of playing the playoffs at home
  4. It would be nice if we could actually see the most important series of the year....oh well at least i can listen to it i guess.
  5. I would be more then willing to pay over 200 bucks for a student season ticket, we get it for a steal right now at 75, this would weed out all the students that just show up because its 6 bucks and something to do, and bring in all the true student fans. A true fan would work his butt off all summer to pay for the season ticket Right now you can pay for it by collecting coins off the street all summer.
  6. I went to a DIII college hockey game one time, and during a small fight (like the one against Mankato) they began to play Barneys "I love you, you love me" etc, I thought it was very entertaining. After the fight while the refs were trying to figure out what was what, they played the final Jeopardy song, good stuff. That Elephant skit they showed prior to the overtime, I hope I never see that again.
  7. I was unaware that standing in the upper bowl was a problem. Every game I am up there the students stand the entire game, and it seems that the seats are at a big enough angle and the ice is far enough down that the sections to either side can still see the whole game. If that wasnt the case I would gather that the sit down police would be up there, and they are not.
  8. I thought everyone seemed to be a lot more into it during the few seconds of overtime. So maybe it just doesnt matter how loud the crowd is....we still lost! That elephant thing they put on didnt do much to get the crowd up and cheering, anyone know the intention of that?
  9. I thought the student section was fine again last night. My only problem with the whole game was 2:18 left 2:00 power play, 2-1 game...seems like the perfect time to get the whole arena standing and supporting the team. The students section barely was cheering. The general public was sitting and watching. Some got into it towards the last 30 seconds, but this was a time the whole arena should have been giving our power play team a boost. (Maybe Oshie wouldnt have heard his teammate calling for the puck and would have shot it and tied it )
  10. I think part of the problem is few know when those songs are actually played. The band seems to know what song is being played, maybe the band director should hold up a sign to signal to the rest of the crowd what song is on. Eventually people might know the songs by the starting notes.
  11. What would you suggest for some cheers for the student section??? Lets hear some ideas.
  12. I know entering the Ralph security reads every sign that you bring in to make sure it can be allowed in. Hopefully no security guard read that sign and found it acceptable...I hope it was just a lack of security that allowed it in.
  13. The media guide gives you team totals and leading goal/assist/point scorers for all of those seasons. Also gives player career totals but not by season.
  14. I have been a season ticket holder for the last 2 years in the student section. THAT out of the way, our student section sucks. If anyone can say we make a difference in a game it is nonsense. Our student section has been boiled down to a few chants and the band making a few of us to stand up. Otherwise the student section is nothing. It is all because of the atitude at the ralph. Students are the outcast, which should not be. WE as students are the university. Why we do not get the right I will never know. Alumni have their place, but come on, they were in the same place as current students, drunk and stupid at games, only they didnt have this great place to show this terrible behavior at. Don't bring your kids, because of the behavior and stop complaining, kids have no reason to be at a college game....I am from New York, and we dont have much college, so kids do not go to those games, its too bad ND does not have a Pro team, they may not care so much about college kids going nuts about their team. Afterall it is our team...
  15. A few words:: LeTS GO SIOUX...LETS GO SIOUX...THE GOPHERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SWEEP!!
  16. how many points did lee goren have in his career? how many total games did lee goren play in his career? how many points did lee goren have in the 4-2 win in the title game vs BC in 2000? 111 games, 127 pts, 2 goals and an assist in 2000 game
  17. (tickets are still available in the Student section for General Public going on sale tomorrow)
  18. I am also looking for 2 tickets to Wisconsin series. Any help email hockey10@hockeymail.com
  19. I just tried multiple times and got in, it comes in snap shots for me. Its like looking at pictures of the game, but the audio is perfect.
  20. How about Brad Miller's performance, great speed, great to see him out there last night. Representing Georgia, give him another game or two then ITS MILLER TIME!!!!!!!
  21. You are comparing semi-pro/pro hockey to college level hockey. For purposes of NCAA eligibility, Major Junior Hockey is considered to be professional hockey. Therefore, anyone who participates at this level of hockey is deemed ineligible to play at a US college. Basically you are comparing paid players or compensated players (education allowances ect.) to true collegiate athletes who are playing for free or on scholarship. When our hockey team wins the national championship or even goes to it we show that we are either the #1 or #2 College hockey team in the country, football can never say this. The football team will lose to all DI-A football teams in the country, that is a fact, no matter how bad the team is we will lose to them. We will lose to most likely 90% of DI-AA football teams, the speed and talent on teams at that level are far superior then that of our Sioux football team. When the football team wins the national championship they are still #200+ in the country of College Football. Thats why our hockey team is the big deal and will always be until we see UND in the Rose Bowl .
  22. I sat in the student section I didnt see too many problems. They had the sit down police come around whenever we stood for longer than some thought we should. It was one guy who wore the same sweater every game, he would tell everyone to sit and everyone would. Swearing besides the introductions I never noticed to be a large problem, except for a particular October series with a "f*ck the gophers" chant. But every game there would be some old guy complaining to the ushers about something we were doing. I might be the only one who thinks this way but isnt sh*t maybe stretching reaching PG-13 now a days its basically allowed on TV now, I am pretty sure Bart Simpson says it all the time . If thats really a word that people would complain about they need to get out a little more. The largest problem I see with student season tickets is the most faithful fans were the ones that lined the Upper Bowl row 1 every single game. They would show up hours early to ensure they had those seats, those are the ones that should be getting season tickets, those were the ones that were first in line when we were told to leave as there would now be a lottery. Hopefully the new student president will have a better system worked out. My brother went to Michigan State, he didnt get basketball season tickets until his Junior year because they gave them out to Upper classman first, which makes perfect sense. Let the freshman and sophmores sit in GA and learn from the older students how you should behave and cheer. But I think Kupchella was right on one front, something does need to be done, but it should be done to please the students not the general public. He completely sold out the students in his letter, and I am pretty sure thats who he represents. Its like President Bush saying our troops arent patriotic.

    HD TV

You have to subscribe to HD cable through your cable company, the little cable wire gets replaced with about 5 different colored wires and the picture magically becomes so clear you can tell if Jordan Parise has a zit on his nose. It really is an amazing picture, but beware you will never want to switch back to regular tv.
  24. Any ideas if/when we will play Maine at home?
