  1. Completely agree, by far the most underrated player on the team. 3-0 when he scores no coincidence.
  2. Only problem I see with the poll is us below Michigan State, come on a 1-1 with Western Michigan when we are 1-3 vs two in the top 5, seems like we can at least be ranked above them. But at the same time after our performance we should be out of the top 20....but Army in with 7 votes!
  3. After what the team saw fans can do in Wisconsin they are hoping our fans can match, doubtful but lets give it a try!
  4. I think Miller will have a breakout year...watch for him
  5. Its my understanding that he is going back to mary his fiance and play in Europe.
  6. I would much rather see someone attending this fine University cheer for their school team when they are not playing a team you grew up liking, then a person who just doesnt cheer for their school team at all. So...welcome aboard. Give it a few more years, and that Wisconsin phase of your life will disappear
  7. Oshie played too good with the national audience in the regionals and in the FF game. Hopefully this doesnt have a certain team calling him tomorrow morning with a nice offer... He is by far the hardest worker, and best asset the Sioux had this season. He is a leader and a play maker. I can't wait to see him next year (in a Sioux jersey)!!!
  8. Any chance we can get the Holy Cross guys to announce the game
  9. That is a sweet video...would love to see a 2006 version!!
  10. I dont know the numbers for the other regionals but watching them on TV it sure looked like they were not sold out. Grand Forks was offically sold out, and people came to the games. If others were sold out, people didnt show. I can't imagine the NCAA not coming back to GFK.
  11. If Oshie completed his absolutely crazy deke on the defenseman (which he did) and scored he would have been above the 40-1 horse race
  12. Jeez can i predict or what.......
  13. Not that I am not a fan of the Sioux band but will Michigans be there? I have listened to them in about 4 previous regionals and they are amazing....but hopefully they dont have much to be playing about tonight!!
  14. That would be the ideal outcome. Although I would suspect that the Gopher game will be more of an embarrassment....of course when the Gophers lose....
  15. I was home in NY and my parents have the fox sports package through Time Warner, got to see just about every college hockey game going on...ECAC (CSTV), CCHA, and WCHA...a great weekend to be home!
  16. I thought they originally had the time right, the score keeper usually keeps track of the time they forgot to start the clock for, and then adjusts to make it right. I dont know how shep could even think that only .7 seconds happened on that faceoff, to shot...
  17. I think the 1 game playoff structure really adds to the hype of each game. It makes the regionals and frozen four more like the March Madness of College Basketball as anyone can win 1 game, you never know who will show up for the big game. It puts every team on edge as they have to win one big game after the other. I think it is what makes college hockey playoffs more exciting then the NHL playoffs. On the flip side, I do agree a 3 game series would really show what team is the best. In the current structure every period is like a game, sometimes you see whole new teams come out of the locker room after intermission, when they know they have to step it up or they are going home.

    DU and UND

It didn't take long for the snowboarder's lingo to get to you
  19. El Roco, Dagwoods or just go to Suite 49, good food and drinks, pay 10 dollars to park there and they give you that money back in drinks once you are inside. Then around game time you only have to walk across a field to get to the front door.

    Duluth at UND

Only true hockey fans venture out in the -30 wind chill to get to a Sioux game....with the long weekend there will probably be a lot of students missing, it will be interresting to see how many people actually make it to the game Friday night. Saturday night it might be a little warmer at least!
  21. I used to work at the football and hockey games when I was in High School as a ticket taker. I have been to a lot of sporting events on the West Point campus. Football is by far the most entertaining game to go to. Hockey is always fun, and cheap to watch. Their lacrosse team continues to get better and better each year, and the attendence keeps going up due to that fact. I do agree with you their campus is a really nice campus, the stone buildings are a great sight, and you can't beat being right on the Hudson. Have you been to Michie recently? They just finished a new press box, and athletic center, made the stadium look really impressive.
  22. Looks like they checked the siouxsports forum and decided to do something about it. They have the majority of the ply wood covered with a tarp now.
  23. I had no idea they transfered down to Rutgers, I have only been to 1 MLL game and that was when they played at Yogi Berra's stadium. When I went to the NCAA Championship it was maybe 3-4 years ago, so I would assume that would be the new Rutgers stadium. I just remember walking past lots and lots of fields (soccer etc.) before getting to the main stadium. It had a good attendence, the whole lower bowl was filled. I actually live in New York, by West Point.
  24. I thought the New Jersey Pride played on Yogi Berra field out by his Museum, or do they just practice over at the Rutgers lacrosse fields? I went to see the National Championship at Rutgers great facilities they have out there.
  25. We finished our 4th year last year. Every year we have shown a 150% increase in campers. Expanded from one location to two, each holding over 300 a week for 4 weeks. We use 12 different fields (6 at each location). As for a camp at UND, I am not sure how well it would go over. As far as I know there are no high school teams in the area. I do think it could have potential to draw campers if the price was right (cheap). Our camp runs 9am - 5pm, we are just a day camp, and the main draw is....it is cheaper then babysitting! We get the serious athletes that want to move up to the High School level, but the younger kids are mostly there because their parents wanted them to learn a new sport and their parents dont want to see them all day during the summer. A cheap camp would be a good way to expose kids in the area to the game. I was recruited by Binghamton, Bucknell, Canisius, and Stony Brook. I think other lacrosse-playing schools are always looking to expand the sport. As for recruiting to East Coast schools, you will see nearly all from NY, Maryland, Delaware, Mass, and Pennslyvania along with the Carolinas, all of those states are hot beds for lacrosse. Maryland and Delaware consistantly have multiple High Schools in the top 10 in the nation. New York easily puts 2-4 team in the top 10 in the country each year. You wont see east coast schools tap into the west or canadian athletes too much, not to say they dont have good players up there. Denver has a couple from Canada on their team....they are preseason ranked 18th right now! Lacrosse is an exciting sport to watch at the DI level. The moves and speed at which one can score is unparalled to any other sport. Shot speeds are in the 100+ MPH and the goalie has a chest protector and helmet on....no goalie pads! It is fun to go to the games and I am sure it could draw a crowd with enough press and possibly handing out quick reference guides to rules on the way into the Al.
