  1. At the game right now. Really sloppy power play...no passing, just a lot of one on one and no patience. Kristo is playing great though. Cmon Sioux...we have to have this game
  2. Yesterday's game was by far one of the poorest defensive games I've seen by a Sioux team in a very long time. Offensively the team has amazing skills, particularly the top line; however without defense setting up the offense, the team struggled to get the puck out of our own zone. Yesterday was yesterday, so hopefully we will see a return to the team we know that is capable of playing solid hockey on both ends of the ice.
  3. Too bad for this sioux team that has had to battle hard all year...unfortunately another loss in the NCAA for Hak...but didn't expect they would get this far. Hopefully Nelson and Kristo return, but we'll have to wait and see.
  4. The play is being dicatated by WM...need to continue our floor-checking and more control in the offensive zone. Go Sioux
  5. Thanks gfbugman...your the savior today!! Damn it to all hell with ESPN!
  6. Does anyone know how to get ESPN3 if your not on the provider list?
  7. Can anyone help me sing in with espn3....FSN is blacked out and were not able to view the game.
  8. Michigan is just playing defensive hockey...game looks to be at hand...well need 8 guys on the ice to win
  9. Michigan is just playing defensive hockey...game looks to be at hand...well need 8 guys on the ice to win
  10. At the game...michigan could care less about offense...they have 5 gouys back at all times. There opportunistic on defense...tough to score on these guys. Average only 2 goals given up all year
  11. Michigan is going to be a very tough team. Colorado College had little success offensively as the wolverines contested them at every chance prior to getting to the blue line. The sioux won't be able to afford sloppy passing in the center of the ice, as that's where the wolverines cahsed in on colorado and omaha. Hopefully, this year's team comes ready to play. We won't be ablet o afford to come out flat and fall behind, as this Michigan team is too good defensively. There year's sioux team has been fun to watch, and I want to watch them play again on Saturday.
  12. Thanks to StubHub, we'll be there...Section 103.
  13. I get what The Ralph is trying to do... and I see the "If" in the short excerpt in the article, However, let's not look past the first game nor give your oponent any visual fuel ...our history hasn't been too good lately in the first round, so let's beat our first oponent and go from there!! Go Sioux!
  14. Best news I heard all day! Thanks!!!!
  15. Does anyone know what ESPN syndication channel may have the Sioux game on this weekend? Were down in the Southwest, so no local affiliate. I agree with an earlier post that the game against RPI is theirs to lose. And if we play DU on Sunday, it's going to be a very tough and physical game The Sioux power play was less than stellar, but it wasn't a won-or-done type of game and I'm sure we'll see a more energized and ready to go team this weekend. Having Gregoire back will be a huge boost...with trupp, frattinn, and gregoire on the ice...there a fun bunch to watch. DU has had our number over the past 6 years in the playoffs, and it's our turn to return the favor!
  16. http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=204804810 Should be on 623 for the DirecTV subscribers.
  17. The NCAA over the past 4 years has made an effort to group the WCHA in one bracket, mainly to avoid the scenario of having an all WCHA frozen 4 (which happened in 2005). With that said, no team more than Nebraska-Omaha concerncs me with regards to playing the Sioux. In a one game scenario, Dean Blais has the ability to have his team moving on all cylinders. Not that any team is a given win, but I would like to see UNO moved out of the Midwest bracket.
  18. Regardless of how Danny got into this situation, as many have posted, is speculation. The concerns is how much frostbite and the severity of the frostbite are we looking at? If it is just his toe, and though a very serious situation, the concern is the integrity of circulation. If it is just isolated to his toe, at worst he may be looking at an amputation (again, just the last option for a physician), but if the circulation is compromised above the toe, that opens up a whole case of possible scenarios which most are not all that great. But again, we just don't know that much at this time. Often times we compare frostbite to that of a diabetic foot when it comes to circulation, so it will be treated similarly. The first part of his medical care will be with restoring/maximizing circulation and preventing infection to his foot, and then movement, and then possible weight-bearing. This whole process can take up to 2 weeks to even several months. So let's just hope and pray that the area and time of exposure was small, and that Danny will be able to walk out of the hospital in due time.
  19. After this weekend..the Sioux will most likely be in 3rd. (maybe tied for second) Denver will sweep Colorado College (though I really hope that the Tigers at least win 1 of the games, as this will help the Sioux tremendously) Minnesota Duluth will most likely split with Minnesota, being that the game is in Minneapolis. Wisconsin is off this weekend and really don’t see them moving up in the standing's too much over the next 4 weeks. The Sioux have the benefit of a weaker schedule compared to Denver, and if the Sioux take care of business and win the next 4 series, they should be near the top and hopefully compete for the MacNaughton cup.
  20. Thread's a little off topic...so anyways just returned from Colorado Springs. Saw 2 different Sioux teams...and hopefully the team from Saturday night is the one we see the rest of the season. The Sioux didn't look awful Friday, just flat....and compounded with the fact the Tigers played their best game of the year (so said the tiger fan next to us) and we saw a good Sioux team lose to a Colorado team that came out ready to play. On Saturday, that second period was amazing! The Sioux were cycling the puck with consistency and it played off.....and Lapoint's freaky goal with 55 seconds to go, just goes to show what happens if you keep the puck going toward the net. 4 series to go..and with the bye weekend ahead.....the sioux have their work cut out for them.
  21. Allot of folks will be staying at the Double Tree as it's right across the street from the World Arena.
  22. My error....I meant Oshie, but you can add Zajac, Stafford, Duncan, Chorney, Greene...and again ets...(and you could also go on to say how many McNaughton cups has Hakstol won...one is the answer, and Blaise won 5 and Gasparinni won 4)...
  23. The concern with Hakstol from a number of boosters/Alumni started when the team was embarassed in Denver in the frozen 4 , and unfortunately every year since then the Sioux have bowed out in the first round of the playoffs. It's not so much to be beaten, but to do so on national TV and look unprepared has been an apparent consisteny for Hakstol.. In addition, but of equal importance, many folks are fed up with the off the ice incicents with players use of alcohol and the police. Does Hakstol not put the living fear in these guys in regards to their behavior and representing the school and team? From a fan perespective, it's embarrasing to travel and watch your team get outplayed (did so In Denver, and Yale last year), and from a booster perspective, how much more talent does a coach need to get to the championship (Toews, Parise, etc..) The Sioux are not going to win every game, nor be at their best at all times, but does Hakstol represent the ideal coach in getting his team prepared and "bringing out the best" in his players - when it counts - is the question to ask.
  24. I too would be interested in the tickets....but send me an IM to discuss the prices.. Thanks
