  1. Not really been a fan of Hakstol, but you cant just blame him for yesterday's loss. The team is what it has been since the beginning of the season, and that is inconsistent. Unfortunatley, all of their weakness was exposed in one night and BC played a brilliant game and just handed it too us all night long. The sioux were fortunate to be in the final four, as they had played terrible in there last 6 games, being out shot and out played, but it was the great goal tending that kept us in it. Finely was a huge liability out there all year, and was largerly responsible for at least 2 if not 3 of the first three goals. Lamoreux as great as he has been, his weaker point was exposed which is that he tends to flail to the ground when under pressure and the BC forwards just waited for him to go to the ice, and all they did was shoot over him. But as for the rest of the team....not a singe sioux player stood out...and the team was extreamly flat and lifeless. The real dissapointment has to be what was a huge representation of fans at the game....and this is what they will remember. I was at the game, and sat with a large group of folks who drove anyware from 12-15 hours to get to Denver, (myself driving 9 hours).,and we all deserved a much better perfromance. This was a tough game to swallow, because we expect so much out of our team. The question now comes in hand, what is going to be left of this team after we lose about 8-10 players?? Yes Hakstol does deserve some criticism, but not sure if a coaching change is the answer...unless of course Blaise would come back, which in my opionion, would be an interesting scenario.
  2. I just purchased my tickets off ebay...and looking forward to the trip to Denver. As Denver has a pretty solid Sioux fan base, does anyone know if there is an alumni gathering or a pre-game get together in Denver anywhere??
  3. Way to JPL....the man kept us in it throught the first and second period and allowed the big boys to come through. Unbelievable come back in a very hostile environment.... Just need to get tix....and on my way to the frozen 4. WAY TO GO SIOUX!
  4. does anyone have a link to an audio or video feed?
  5. Really hope we dont play Wisc. tomorrow, as we tend to not play well in front of their crowd...but then again, DU has had our number in the playoff for the past 5 years. But if we play like we did this afternoon, it wouldn't matter. Definately need to be on our "A" game if we are going to head to the Frozen 4.
  6. FUCG.....our defenders are getting killed out there.... Good penalty to take
  7. Ever sicne the regionals 4 years ago, it just seems that DU always seems to best us in the post season. WHY???
  8. Or at the very least put one of those annoying DU puck bunnies on their arse!
  9. CAN WE PLEASE GET THE PUCK OUT OF OUR ZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Wel....they have playing with alot more intenestiy...and they deserve to take the one goal lead.
  11. Farily even first period, but the sioux definately had more chances...particularily with missing the open net shots. Need a break in the second to get a goal.
  12. Weh may be out shooting them, but DAMN.....we need a frickin goal!!
  13. DAMN....sioux defense giving up some big shots.
  14. This game should easily 6-1 right now.
  15. Are they using broomsticks? as they are not able to handle the puck right now as evidence from that last power play.
  16. Someone please put the Varsity team in!
  17. It's a problem with fox sports north, and they dont have a number that i can call to tell them to get the damn thing fixed.
  18. ok need a goal....getting a bit bored, and Christenson is gaining confidence.
  19. The b2 network feed is way better the sioux network online.....not sure why in todays online standards, that the other schools put out a better product..I mean, this is Mankato?
  20. Davidson also said "the kid could also be making alot of money right now" ......pretty much a guarantee that he will be making makina alot of money come April, when he leaves the team and foregoes his last year.
  21. It would be nice to go 40-0, but those days in hockey are long behind us. Im really not sure what the deal with the program is or where it is going. Yes, I do agree there has been a general decline in the quality of play with the team over the past 5 years. No real superstars are emerging behind Oshie, and Im concerned about who is coming to take his place, especially since are recruiting hasn't been where we have been in the past in getting top ranked players (i.e Towes, Parise, etc..) The team should be looking better going into the second half, but they have actually been playing worse. The gophers played 5 out of 6 periods to win over the weekend, and deserved to win both games, but the 10 mintues of hockey the sioux played well on both nights was at least good enought to get one game. I was at both games this weekend, and the 3rd period of play on Firday, and the last 7 minutes on Saturday's game were Awsome in which the Sioux just dominated!, but where has that been and who are we going to see the second half. Also, just my opinion, but Duncan needs to be changed to the 2nd line for a while. He has looked pathetic this past year and it has become obvious that needs a bit of an incentive to play on the top line. 70% of his goal production came of the skates and stick of Towes, and without him, Duncan has been lost.
  22. Just got back from being at the game.....and we'll the sioux just look boring! They played pretty good defense, and Lammy played awsome and much improved from last weekend othwerise this game would have been 3-0 after the 1st. But no OFFESNE! Your not going to win games with just 12 shots in 2 periods of play. And in reality, they had maybe 4 or 5 good scoring chances, but failed to find the net. Simply Denver is an awswome team to watch. Very very fast, crisp passing and fun to watch play, something our sioux fans expect out of our own players. My expectations were pretty high for the team early in the season with the ranking and all, but it's becoming painfully clear that this team has yet to come together. They were simply lost without Oshie in the game, and I wonder if in the years past, we rely just too much on 1 player. Food for thought, but I hope the team comes back and plays well tomorrow.
  23. Credit to all the players of the past (and current players) who played on those frozen four teams. Personally, Im elated that they made it, but not happy or satisfied of the fact that we have been unable to get a champioship. I state that we are an average team, because they are playing as such. A champioship team needs to learn how to play tough all year round, and prepare themselves for the tough competition that comes with the NCAA tourney. Perhpas as suggested, a line change needs to be made, but just on the saturday night. In addition, maybe the off the ice attitudes and preperation for the next game also needs to change.
  24. After last nights game, I was wondering what the heck happended to the floor checking....what good is it having a 6-7 defenseman, and playing him soft. Not one bulldog found his butt on the ice last night. The sioux have always been know for setting the physical tone of a game, but not this year. The sioux unfortunately are just an average team this year. I'm being very positive in hoping for a split next weekend in Denver, but at the moment, that is some positive hopefull thinking. Perhaps this team needs a wakeup call, but after last night's loss to a UMD that was just looking to be swept.....not sure what can fire this team up.
