Every little hockey player in the tri-state area, and beyond, wants to be a Fighting Sioux hockey player when they grow up!

When we went to see the Fighting Sioux play in Anchorage, I bet that arena wasn't 50% full. And, I wonder, what else is there to do in Anchorage in November?? Watch the moose come into town and graze across the street from you hotel?

Fact - Unfortunately, many of us know of someone who's life was saved because someone or they had a hand gun. Fact - Unfortunately, many of us know someone who's life was taken because they did not have a hand gun. Fact - Unfortunately, many of us know someone who's life was taken without a gun/rifle/assault weapon. Fact - Unfortunately, many of us know someone who's life was taken by someone who used a gun/rifle/assault weapon. Because of my own personal experiences in life, given what I know as cited above, I know that I am safer owning a hand gun than not owning a hand gun. If you have had the similiar life experiences as I have had (sister and niece murdered by fire, murderer allowed to go free, murderer-who did not have a gun on him then justifiably killed by gun while attempting to harm/kill another woman), I will listen to your point of view. If you are citing 'facts' from a stand up comedian's act, your opinion is without merit, IMHO. *I use 'unfortunate' in all the above because no matter what the outcome, violence is always an unfortunate occurrence.

That being the case, why oppose the Supreme Courts ruling? I think that's a very arrogant statement and statements like those may be one of the reasons other countries can't stand the U.S. But, never the less, if you believe that, why do you oppose our owning whatever weapon's we're legally allowed to own? We're more civilized and peaceful.... You do know those countries with higher murder rates include England, Australia, China, countries with gun control that other countries (other than the U.S.)consider more 'civilized' than the U.S.?

Absolutely! GUN BANS DO NOT DECREASE THE NUMBER OF MURDERS. THERE ARE MORE MURDERS IN COUNTRIES WITH GUN BANS THAN IN THE UNITED STATES!!

In countries with gun bans, there are higher murder rates than there are in the U.S. The people are murdered with knives, bludgeoning, strangling, etc. There are less people killed with guns but NOT less people killed.

And based on you're ignorant, stubborn attacks on people who disagree with you, I and everyone else who heard the story of your attacking a young hockey coach because your kid's team lost to his team, have no doubt you acted like a bully in that instance. And when adults came to his defense, you blame them for bad behavior. Ha!! And if not accepting drivel that's posted in this forum as fact makes me a bitch, well, I embrace the title.

My sister and niece were murdered by my niece and nephew's father. Her two month old son, my nephew, survived the fire. (He's my son now.) They had been in a relationship long enough for her to have two children with him. He physically abused her the entire time. She finally left him. He set fire to her apartment and she burned to death. We all know he did it but could not prove it, so he walked. Five years later he was breaking into his new ex-girlfriend's apartment. He was unarmed. She shot him five times with her registered gun and killed the ba$tard. Because of his history of domestic abuse, she was NOT arrested. Had she not had a gun, he would have killed her, too.
