Hmmm, I heard it was made by a diamond mine owner, a former WCHA referee. The statue is filled with diamonds. The diamonds are to fund a civil war between the WCHA and those eastern college hockey leagues. The planning will take several more years which is beneficial to the WCHA as the statue's value increases daily.

Ok, this has nothing to do with tickets but it's not worth a thread as it's just an observation. I'm in Mankato and decide to go to Scheel's to buy a Mav hockey 'doodad' to add to a friend's little boy's collection of WCHA stuff. I can only find pom poms, generic at that, and a stadium blanket. Next to the area with dozens of Vikings things for sale is another large area full of lots of 'doodads' for another college, UMtc. Hmm, go figure...

How do you figure that it's a waste of money? The REA does not belong to the U. One of the stipulations of the gift was that the REA be self sufficient. Events like this bring in tens, hundreds, of thousands of dollars for the facility and the community. Exactly what Ralph intended when he gifted the money. I see no waste.
