THe airport is in Hancock; just across the river from Houghton. It's small, no jets, just put-puts.

I've been on planes that were delayed because we were waiting for people from other planes. They should have done that for you. I don't expect to get reimbursed for anything but I'm still writing to the airline, enclosing all my receipts and asking for reimbursement for my extra expenses or my flight back that I couldn't take. All that and I'm still not sorry I went to the games. (Thank goodness for smiley emoticons, 'cause I certainly don't have one in me this morning!).

The week-end was a good time but........ I was scheduled to fly out at 7:20A. We're on the plane, sitting and waiting, waiting, waiting...Finally, the pilot says the co-pilot's radio doesn't work, she can't hear him with her headset. We wait some more, they try to fix it, no go. The flight is cancelled, the last flights out of Hancock are all full and I can't get out until Monday afternoon!! The airline is NOT giving out vouchers for a hotel or meals and they are not reimbursing those that made alternate plans of travel. I have to be at work Monday morning to work a 12 hour shift and as a contracted employee, I have no PTO time. I don't work, I don't get paid. So, I rent a car and drive from Hancock, Mi to Florence, KY (that's where the Cincinatti airport is) to pick up my car. This is not the first time, the pilot or mechanic has identified a problem with the plane I'm on BEFORE we take off. It's always been the first flight out! Don't the airlines know about RISK MANAGEMENT/QUALITY CONTROL?!? Why the hell don't they inspect the plane the night before or right after it gets in to the airport? Why the hell do they wait until we're on the plane to check it out?!? I'm tired, I'm cranky and I have to be nice for the next 12 hours.....

I checked. One in Houghton and one in Hancock. Al's group is staying in Hancock. I changed my reservation and am now staying at the BW in Hancock too.

From RedFrogs post, Once your selection is made, you can NOT change it. Be aware of who is dressing and who is not, it is YOUR responsibility to find out!

Given the Goofs past few years, it's obvious the 'good ones' certainly aren't wearing piss yellow and puke brown .... Even Goldie has changed colors,

I'm in! Just let me know what you need to make it happen. AND, Like YaneA, I'll up the ante if Stoa hurls.

Rent out your share of the shack and use the money to go to Houghton!!

Why does it come down to 'if they do it to .... they better do it to....' or 'if they do it we can do it'? Honestly, I don't mind the occasional ef bomb. I hate to admit it, but one or two has escaped my mouth a time or two, not as part of a chant, usually as a reaction to something that happened on the ice. Just quit with the stupid, continuous, efing chanting of 'F... the goofs!' Just curious, what big $$$$ donors chant 'F... the goofs'?

I want to take a moment to defend our 'old' fans. The majority of them are not there to socialize but to support Fighting Sioux hockey. I have seen some of these fans at games since the late '70s when I (yeah an old fan) started going to FS hockey games. The ones that sit a couple of rows in front of my seats were 'old fans' back then. I'm guessing that more than a few of them are probaly in their late 70's or early 80's(maybe older!) by now. They don't stand and cheer, high five or do the wave but they're there!! A big accomplishment for some. I remember one senior who I know had terminal cancer that went to the games until just before his death. They could be home watching the game on tv or going to bed early but they choose to watch the game in person. Why? BECAUSE REGARDLESS OF THEIR AGE, THEY ARE STILL FIGHTING SIOUX HOCKEY FANS. So, my fellow SS.com fans, get the eff off your 'I'm a better fan because I stand and shout' platform and quit picking on our senior fans!!

I just read this in the Dakota Student opinion page. For some reason 'chanting sieve, pronounced siv', really tickled my funny bone. I'm still chuckling.
