  1. Plus he's still getting his salary as a consultant from North Dakota. That's like close to $450, 000. I'm guessing that's better than getting your house remodeled and a little bump in your salary.
  2. What about the potential economic loss to the Grand Forks community? Maybe GF should sue the NC$$.....
  3. It's fantastic the way the media has picked up this story. This is national news folks!! I can't wait to read how the NC$$ tucked it's tail between it's legs and had to eat it words. I have NO DOUBT that UND will win this lawsuit, none whatsoever! http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/6036390 From our own sudo reporter http://www.uscho.com/news/id,12754/NorthDa...iouxName.htmler
  4. I'll be bringing 4 packs of brats and buns (20 total), fixings minus onions, cookies, plates, plastic spoons, napkins, two card tables, table cloth and garbage bags. (I won't be bringing the wheel barrow to his tailgater .)
  5. While pretty, the smoke was also a problem for my son and me.
  6. In this day and age, 'life in prison' does not mean dying in prison. Murderers, child rapists, etc. are paroled out of the system routinely mainly due to overcrowding. Executing Rodrigass will insure that he will never again rape, torture or kill another human being! The death penalty, in this case, will most certainly 'shield women from violence'.
  7. A couple of brats at a neighborhood back yard cookout with neighbors which includes hockey players who live in the neighborhood is NOT a violation of NCAA rules. (See bolded statement.) If the hosts charged all the neighbors a cover charge and made them pay for their food and drink to attend but exempted the hockey players that would be a violation of NCAA rules. I know you were joking but this brings up a very good point! In order to protect themselves from committing an NC$$ violation, the student athlete has to be very careful about what they can accept from fans and friends. Having someone buy you a drink or accepting a simple little birthday or Christmas gift can be a violation. I understant that before a little cookout that includes student athletes can actually occur there are a lot of phone calls to 'officials' for clarification, permission, etc. that take place before the actual event. If you want to include a student athlete to pretty much anything, be prepared to spend a lot of time on the phone. You also want to protect the student athlete from unwittingly committing a violation. AND there is the 'infrequent meal' exemption that PCM ponts out.
  8. I don't think anyone hates Favre. I don't. I agree he is a class act and I for one respect him as a great quarterback. I hated watching him kick the Bears a$$ when he was in his prime. He was one of the greats!!! The game he played the day his dad died (or was it the next day?) is one I'll never forget. He had a lot of great games. That's why it's so painful to see him today. I really wish he had retired or gone to a winning team.
  9. It is a violation of the NC$$ rules for a student athlete to receive any gratuities from a 'booster' (which is very clearly defined as a fan. You don't have to be a big monied alum to be considered a booster. Cheering for the team, wearing a jersey, just being a fan makes you a booster in the eyes of the NC$$). Basically the acceptance of ANY benefit from a booster/fan by a student athlete and/or recruit is a violation of NC$$ rules unless that same benefit is available to the general public. Examples of violations are many, here a couple of the more 'petty' ones; A team received free breakfast coupons from the motel they were staying and used them. The coupons occasionally were given to 'the general public' but not always. They were made to pay for the breakfast. A recruit's meal was paid for by a 'fan' during a visit to a campus. He was made to pay for the meal. Hockey players getting admitted to a bar for free and getting free drinks is a violation of NC$$ rules. The general public pays a cover charge to get into the bar and pays for their drinks.
  10. Be prepared! Once the Fighting Sioux spirit enters your heart, it will NEVER leave!!
  11. I love Fighting Sioux hockey. But, having said that, I have to admit that Holy Cross's win over the Gophers continues to give me goose bumps. Everytime I hear Remember the Name by Fort Minor, my heart rate goes up, a chill goes through me, the roar of the crowd fills my mind and a rush of memories from all three games that week end flood my mind. Gopher fans poo poo the game as 'over and done' and criticize us for our on-going 'obsession' with Holy Cross. But this is one sporting event is bigger in NC$$ hockey fans' memories than our opening night loss to MNtc. It's that 'David vs Goliath' game at the Ralph that is #1 for me and keeps me going over to CrossSports to check up on the 'little guys'.
  12. Hak's confidence that the freshman are ready to contribute and our returning veterans are on track makes me feel really good about our up coming season. Bring it on!!! Thanks PCM.
  13. Just read in CrossSports that McGregor got cut by the Sharks. (OK, anyone, run with it.) Aeros signed Steve Shields so it looks like Quesada will be going to the ECHL. Some one also posted in CrossSports today that Quesada was at the Wild's camp, got hurt and is out for 4-6 weeks.
  14. Yeah but didn't the team vote give her the big "C"!?!?!
  15. I'm getting this strange craving for a GrahamKracker dunked, no drowned in milk.
  16. Just a joke, didn't mean to offend. I apologise.
  17. WTF!!!! Where is the responsibility of the journalist to check and recheck their information before submitting it to print. WTF are the editors whose responsibility is to verify information they print is accurate. Geezey, Peezey, there is something HUGELY wrong with this!!
  18. Are you kidding? I seriously doubt once implemented the parking fee will be discontinued.
  19. Woooo, Whooooo Now THIS is news I like to read about!!!!!!!
  20. I know there's a big interest in the transgressions of 'our' boys (i.e. Philippe's black eye) but something like this, IMHO, shouldn't be posted. If you know for a fact it's true, post it but to start a speculation on a 'he said, she said' about one of 'our' boys being arrested makes me very uncomfortable. If it's true, we'll find out soon enough. I'm no angel and don't pretend to be one. This thread upsets me. Again, just my opinion.
  21. The colors on the jersey don't matter in cases like. I feel bad for him and hope that his recovery eventually is sufficient for him to do whatever else he chooses to do in life. Good luck and God speed!
