  1. Give em' hell in the tourney! Although it surely worked against us tonight, I really do love the fact that the Big Sky tourney is at a campus site. It really does give the league's strongest team the best shot to advance to the NCAA Tournament. Now go make CBS talk about the Big Sky Conference for a few weeks.......
  2. I've got 5 lower bowl tix for Sunday available. Three of them are in 102, row F, and the other two are in 103 row P. I'm 100 miles from GF so I'd have to email through ticketmaster. $20 a piece. Sell all five or split them up by section. PM if interested.
  3. Listened to the game while I was at the hockey game. Sounded like we didn't play all that bad in the first half offensively, anyways. Just struggled on D like we do at times, and Weber just too strong fo us, especially in the paint. Bad matchup. Would have taken a a near perfect game and the guys just didn't have it tonight. Webb and Schuler were sorely missed in this game, because when things start to go South, they are the ones who are usually able to calm things down. It was a fun ride, but a great opportunity was missed.
  4. That was fun to be a part of. Great atmosphere at the Sioux Center. I'd say 2,500+ was the actual attendance.
  5. Huff has gotten his points in this tournament, but he has struggled a bit offensively. Despite, that this team has put together two good games. Need Huff to find his rhythm in this game. Be great if he can channel the Troy Huff that played in the Wisconsin, NDSU, and last UNC game. The other big dilemma is how our bigs are going to hold up against Weber. Traylor and Salmonson got into alot of foul trouble against a smaller PSU team. Calcaterra has been very valuable in this tournament, but I think Traylor needs to be on the floor for 20-25 minutes in this game.
  6. I thought it looked fuller than that on TV, so I bought tickets for the championship game online last night, rather than risk getting turned away at the door. Damn ticketmaster fees..............
  7. Late in the game, one of our guys was at the end of the bench with his knee wrapped in ice and Jones was squatting down talking with him. I couldn't tell for sure who it was but I thought it looked like Webb. I don't believe how was out there near the end...
  8. Why is it not them late game?
  9. We've been talking about the attendance figures in the women's forum a bit today. Odd to me that they are listing attendance for the women's game's but not for the men's . In Grand Forks today, the attendance has been announced at around 900+ per game. My guess is that is sold, not "butts in seats" from what I saw while watching. The population at the Dee on the men's side looked pretty sparse today as well although it is nearly 4 times the size of the Sioux Center. I'm guessing the late game tomorrow that will involve Weber St. will have between 5,000-7,000.................
  10. Upon further review............. The last time UND hosted the NCC tournament, which was in 2007, they averaged 1,930 for the games the Sioux participated in. That same year, UND hosted the NCAA regional where they drew an average of 2,050 for the games they participated in. I don't think there is any way that 2,000 fans show up for either of these games. Sad but true I think.
  11. Of the 5 former NCC schools still playing football that moved to Division I, USD is the only school that was offered the choice of playing football in the Big Sky or the MVFC. That university chose the Big Sky Conference. It was then over-ruled by its state Board of Regents.
  12. I actually agree with that. But we were all told that was the way the game was going to be officiated this season. That new "emphasis" sure did fall off as the season went on. On the flip side, I'd argue that NDSU doesn't have the athletes to draw the calls that we did in that game.
  13. Well maybe they are, I don't know! I'm not that familiar with Minot. The girls were playing in a gym that just said Minot at center court. It had a curtain for a stage at one end. I just assumed it was Minot's high school gym. Disclaimer: My senior high school class had 25 graduates. A record for my school. When I see bleachers and a curtain in a gym that tells me "High School facility". Perhaps that is not the case in Minot, Bismarck, Grand Forks, etc................ I honestly don't know where the girls were playing, but it wasnt' at the MSU Dome............
  14. I don't know............. Every sport is about match ups. Personally, I think North Dakota is more athletic, more talented, deeper, and WAY faster than FU. I think FU is bigger, stronger, WAY better defensively, WAY better fundamentally, and better coached than North Dakota. I think the home crowd played a huge factor in the way we ran NDSU off the court this season. For a veteran squad, our team is very immature. They seem to need that energy more than other teams do. Honestly, I think if they played 10 times on a neutral court, UND would win 6 or 7 times. Just because of the match ups. Next year's game will be interesting because both teams are losing a ton of fire power.
  15. Game time is 5:30 PM central. Viewing/listening options are as per usual: Watchbigsky.com, 100.3 FM This really should be an excellent game. North Dakota and Portland St. are the two hottest teams in the Big Sky right now. PSU has won 6 of their last 7 games while UND has won 5 of their last 6 games. The Vikings only loss in their last 7 games came against North Dakota. These two teams are very evenly matched. We split the season series with each team winning on their home court. I expect it to be yet another very close game.
  16. You are correct. I see tonight they had the A girls playing at Minot High, and had the A boys playing at the Minot State Dome.
  17. I am normally really into all the conference realignment topics, and for years I have always enjoyed reading SiouxVolley's posts on the subject as he obviously does his homework, and he nailed it many years ago about UND getting into the Big Sky, obviously. But personally, my gut tells me that this whole theory about the Big Sky moving en masse to the FBS is pretty far-fetched. That's just my opinion and it is probably a result of my preference. I have always wanted to be a part of this league ever since the DI debates gained steam in the early 2000's. This is where I want my alma mater to be because I think it is a good fit. By far the most insightful piece of information divulged in this thread is the fact that Idaho's membership in the Big Sky apparently hinges on North Dakota being a part of it. That's awesome if you ask me. First, you've got Montana threatening to go to the WAC a few years back unless North Dakota is added. Now you've got another great University in Idaho saying they will join as long as they have an easy out in the case that we ever leave. Respect.
  18. What is amazing to me is that Indiana has 10 DI teams. I never knew that....................
  19. IMO Weber and UNC are the least desirable matchups for our squad. We are superior to PSU but we are also capable of making anybody look damn good. Should be another entertaining game tomorrow night......
  20. I really wasn't concerned about the outcome as far as who I would rather play. North Dakota is capable of besting either team. They are capable of beating any team in this field. Sadly I think our biggest enemy is ourselves. If we can do what we did today offensively and tighten things up defensively, we will be playing on Saturday.......
  21. Portland St wins. Sioux v. Vikings in the semis tomorrow......
  22. No doubt about it. I need to get there one day! ESPN ranked Weber St #39 of the 50 best college basketball programs of the last 50 years.
  23. PSU up 6 with a minute to go.....
  24. The Dee Events Center looms like a really cool arena....
  25. Sioux swept the Bengals in the regular season.......
