In order to have had a chance in this game, Nash would have to have a big game. He's being held in check. Gopher D is impressive already forced 12 turnovers. I think that is more than our game average for the season.

How long does it take for the Big 12 to expand now so they can have a title game? Who is it going to be? Probably BYU and who else? If I were king for a day, this would be a six team playoff. 5 conference champs plus one at-large berth. Top two seeds get byes into the semis.

It has been so long since they have fielded a competetive women's team that they don't even recognize quality basketball anymore. Kind of sad really given the tradition of their program. I think their new coach has them playing better so maybe that will change in time. They don't think Evers would make their team? She would probably be player of the year in the Summit and she's the 2nd best player on our team.......

As I said, I'm ecstatic to get a road win, and against a Missouri Valley team to boot makes it even better. But just perusing the box score, I see the team shot just 56% on free throws. Am I the only one that thinks that is ridiculous for a Division I college basketball team to barely make half of its free throws?

Attendance almost always dips at playoff time. I'm surprised it wasn't more than it was. Too only have it go down by 5% is pretty impressive. I bet it was far worse at other venues.

Finally a win on the road. Great job by the players and coaches to scrap their way back into it after an awful start. Drake may not be great, but any win in a Missouri Valley barn is a good one in my opinion. Lots of positives to take from this game.

I asked Tom Miller the same question on his blog. He said Shanks is thin and likes to face the basket. Don't know if he will be a rebounding/defensive factor early on....
