  1. Yes, he did...........
  2. According to the Kansas St. website, the game will be on Fox Sports Midwest.
  3. I for one, would like to see this team live up to its potential from the beginning of the season all the way to the end. Two years in a row they've been terribly incosistent during the season, and then start to gel near the end of February. Let's gel from start to finish this year............
  4. That was an extremely entertaining game! Last two games at the Alerus this season were great! Defense played pretty well in the second half and got some key stops, so hats off to them. Much like they did in the second half of the Montana game and in quarters 2 and 3 against NAU and Cal Poly. They really need to learn to do it for an entire game now. It's not like the Sioux ran all over SUU, but it sure was nice to see the run game, specifically Mitch Sutton, take charge when they were needed to. Playing defense is much tougher for the opponent when they have to defend both the run and the pass. Whatever happened to the vaunted North Dakota pass rush? If I get time, I wanted to re-watch the game and see how many times we brought 4 and 5 guys. They got to Sorenson a few times, but there was at least one time where I saw him make a phone call while he was in the pocket waiting for the receivers to finish running their routes. Good win for the team. Now take a weekend off, heal up, and go crush the UNC Bears................
  5. We may hold them scoreless, but BYE will still rack up close to 200 yards rushing.........................
  6. I'm usually pretty reluctant to criticize officials, but I agree that pass interference call on Mackey was pretty weak. That play, and the one where Mackey got the interception, were probably the two best defensive plays of Mackey's UND career.
  7. Pretty much all schools at our level of play have one or two non-DI's on the schedule. I'd expect we will have one or two of these type of games every year. But I agree that the home portion of the non-conference schedule isn't very exciting.
  8. I'm not so sure I'd agree with that. I've watched the FSSN on FTA satellite for 7 years, and the picture quality was near HD-quality, and far superior to any SD broadcast one could find on DirecTV because the FTA feed is the "1st generation" of the feed. This year's broadcasts that I've seen on FTA are multiple times worse than any other year, and these are the feeds that FCS, NESN, and the independent cable companies are using. I watched parts of the UAA games on both FTA and FCS, and I could barely tell a difference. Prior to this season, the FTA feed was always much better than the FCS feed on DirecTV.
  9. What happened to Anderson?
  10. I got no problem with this. Sounds fine to me.
  11. Didn't mean anything sarcastic by it............ Just sayin', if we can't even approach a sell-out for the home-opener, the Potato Bowl, or Homecoming, I personally don't think it is realistic to assume that this game will get anywhere close to filling the Alerus. If I'm wrong, I'll be happy to buy you a brew sometime......................
  12. Surely, you jest.............
  13. While the Big Sky schedule will certainly be demanding, I think the consistency that it will provide will be very beneficial to the team. Last year, we basically played two separate months almost entirely on the road, sometimes going 10 days between games. Getting back to the Thursday-Saturday rotation with no unreasonable exclusive road stretches, should help the team improve its traditional road woes. I hope.
  14. Pretty tough to pick North Dakota in this game.....................
  15. I think Bohl lost his job at Nebraska due to a head coaching change. I'm pretty sure he didn't leave Nebraska to coach FU.
  16. Yeah, because Deboer's offenses have been lighting up the Missouri Valley ever since he's been there.............. Doesn't seem like the offense needs much tweaking............. I listened on the radio, and it was disappointing to here our own sideline reporter say that before the end of the 3rd quarter our players had a look in their eyes like, "lets just head back to Grand Forks".....................
  17. Over
  18. Count me in as another that thinks the quality of the video is terrible. Similar to watching a black and white VHS.....................that is a copy of a copy................
  19. I've changed my tune. I fully expect North Dakota to win this game. Sutton and Miller will both have big days running the ball. The Cats are going to over-prepare for Hanson and the passing game, while overlooking what will be the most formidable, yet unassuming, run game they've faced to date. MSU is soft; the stereotypical Big Sky team. Montana St. fades toward the end of the season..................North Dakota excels in hostile environments......................... This is going to play out like the Sac St. game.............................
  20. North Dakota is what it is, and that is a hockey school for the most part. To compare it to the "big" schools, it is no different than Duke being a basketball school, or Alabama being a football school. Just like us, I'm sure Duke has their football rubes that get rubbed the wrong way by Blue Devil basketball fans that don't pay attention to anything other than Coach K, and Crimson Tide basketball fans get rubbed the wrong way by those who think Nick Saban is the football coach AND governor of Alabama at the same time. I love all UND sports, and try to keep in mind that things go in cycles. There were a couple years in the early 90's where even North Dakota basketball was bigger draw than hockey. It was not too long ago that UND football was a real big deal, and I'm confident that it will be again, and it doesn't need to come at the expense of hockey, basketball, volleyball, or even soccer. Win, and they will come...........to all sports.
  21. According to Tom Miller, it was Ivery who approached the coaching staff about him switching to defense. Gotta love that. He showed flashes last year that he could be contibutor on offense at the "glamour" position but was willing to make the move to get minutes and help the team where it has a need. He's now probably the best athlete in the secondary, just need to prove that he can handle the schemes and assignments week in and week out..............
  22. Key stretch for the Sioux. A win against Idaho St. would go a long way, I think. One game ahead of SUU for the final tourney spot.................
  23. Agree. McGill has been very good. I believe he played as a true freshman as well, so basically he had a year of potential outstanding productivity wasted. However, given his injury and the emergence of Golladay as a true frosh, his senior year probably won't be what he and we all expected as far as numbers go. Side note: I noticed during the Montana game that the two best tacklers for North Dakota are Tyrhe Ivery and Shea Walker...........................
  24. Agree. Again, I know nothing about Benton. He's obviously quite talented if he's challenging for a starting spot. But I'd be surprised if Traylor is not the "new" starter if Nash is ruled ineligible. Benton seems like a natural fit to log a pile of minutes spelling Huff, Webb, and Anderson........................ I'm really looking forward to seeing this team. If Traylor and Nash can contribute in the post offensively, I like where we are headed. With those two new guys, Brekke, and the defensive prowess of Wilmer and Archer, I don't think the Sioux will be overmatched down low as often as they have been the past few seasons.................
  25. Delaney was given a two year contract................. Griz football mentor Mick Delaney signs two-year contract
