  1. Linebacker.
  2. UND aligning themselves with Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, and Notre Dame in a college sport is never a bad thing.
  3. The way UND plays will not change anything as far as recruiting. They know they need better OL, especially in four years. The rest of it is the same. UND needs good safeties in their scheme no matter who they are playing, for instance. Corners, yep. Defensive line, yep...and so on.
  4. They have four years.
  5. He also stated in the past that there would be "national outrage" if UND dropped women's hockey.
  6. UND plays nine defensive lineman. Yes, there is a dropoff at around 7-9 but that is to be expected, as it is at every school. Actually, the freshmen that are coming in and replacing the outgoing seniors are way better and way more talented. The depth is there. Now they need to build the same depth in the secondary.
  7. The offensive line needs to get better and more consistent to run the ball on anybody, not just the bottom half of the conference. Luckily for UND, they they are not joining the MVFC for another four years.
  8. NSDU beat them by 7. SDSU beat them by 7. They beat UNI. They competed just fine.
  9. I am convinced he copied and pasted somebody else's article into his. Snippets and links are how it works, not the entire article.
  10. Why is he 'good'?
  11. The Sioux nickname is gone. No nickname is not an option. Rinse, repeat......
  12. He has been hired twice now at an FCS school. Answer this: have you actually looked at his resume and broken it down as to what his job was and what school he was at, etc? He was quality control/recruiting at Indiana.
  13. He was from UND, loves UND, and views it as his dream job. From that end, with his experience, yes it was a great hire. Grand Slam, I don't know. Messingham is a life-long vagabond with zero ties to NDSU. He could leave next year and nobody would be surprised. He has had very little success in his coaching career that I can tell. His head coaching experience is two years (same school as Rudolph was at) and they were terrible. Just not seeing why he is so great.
  14. No doubt about the experience part, always a bonus to have a variety of it. But, we sure as hell wouldn't be calling it a "grand slam" hire.
  15. Gotcha, didn't see that. The money is coming from the Onward Campaign, correct? Phase One (of four), which is locker rooms and chairs for students, will be done in a couple years then.
  16. "about to"...as in about 10 years when they raise the money? They just spent every last nickle on the basketball facility, like NDSU.
  17. I hope NDSU spends more time recruiting in Texas. Sprinkle in a little Arizona while you're down there, as well.
  18. Okie dokie.
  19. One would think NDSU could garner somebody a bit better after all the success (and money) they had. The drop off in your defensive line coach is dramatic. Your staff got worse at both positions.
  20. Yes the Post Office one.
  21. ...and they would still only lose 1/3 of the money WH does. Half their roster is paying tuition to UND as well, which is good for the school since they only have so many scholarships.
  22. Therefore, it's OK that UND loses to them every single year since they are good. As long as UND beats the other doormats everything is alright. What a program. Well worth the nearly 2 million dollars. Softball could strive for that at 1/4 of the budget.
  23. Some people will, some won't. Some like the move (like myself) and some don't. It's a message board.
  24. Crawling back to NDSU? Like they own the Summit League. They just added you, my lord. That arrogance right there....
  25. To sum it up: you like women's hockey, people will go nuts if they cut it. Great defense of the program right there. Absolutely nothing about their budget and what percentage it is of our entire athletic department. Also, your comment about not being able to cut a women's sport is horrible. The money wouldn't be reallocated at all, it would be gone and never spent again. Called "cutting the budget".
