bg, I might point out that there is to be another west regional site in hockey and that the NC$$ is not doing this out of the kindness of their heart. It's about $$$$.That is all the NC$$ cares about plain and simple.

The BIg Sky Conf. just inked a deal with N.C.S.N. Is this something the WCHA as a whole should check into? Let's face it ESPN and FOX could care less about college hockey.(Until the NHL goes on strike in 2004) Maybe we could get in at the ground level. I think we should add rifle as a D1 sport. Also I thought this interesting a small blip in the paper mentioned equestrian as a future women's sport. Imagine a D1aa team being beaten by a D2 school! What will Bob say then jbb? But to be fair, Godo did have alot of passes for 1st downs.Just not TD's. And it was a nice that the bison gave "Old" Jim Heintz something to smile about.

Fri.issue of the Chronicle of Higher Ed. shows that ND moved up Six spots this year to 25. In a ranking of 668 schools,NDSU advanced 20 spots over the past 4yrs. No.43 w/9.4 million.UND w/9million jumped also to No.45 (one rung over) John Hopkins University! Soap Box Alert!!! Don't even get me started on how the Republicans have had almost 10yrs to develop a program to create higher paying jobs. We can only have so many Fishin' Dakota's eh Ed? Gateway Football Commissioner Patty Viverito I think just stepped on NDSU's toes. While I was watching the Youngstown and SMS game during half time Fox did an interview w/ her. The Gateway Conference is NOT interested in NDSU because of (get this) GEOGRAPHY! They IMHO are waiting for 2004 also to see what the NCAA is up to. So NDSU fans, still want to go it alone and find a conference?Or maybe the NCC as a whole moving up isn't so bad after all.

I think they will do fine if they can get the support. Some will say it's a $$$ pit. But IMHO Shantel is doing a good job. They are in TRF today helping clean up a Girl Scout camp. ( And probably gaining fans). Any time you can make Minnesota fans UND fans it's all good. It's time to show that we are hockey fans of the Men's and Women's teams @UND. Go Fighting Sioux!

Tony, I think Jim does a great job it what he stated the only person who might be a little negative about the Bison is ScottM. But unlike jbb, he at least uses large caps where he's supposed to. Terry the former UND-AD. I think could help UND-and NDSU. NDSU has a meeting in Oct correct? What if at that time the Big Sky said: Well we would like to have you join BUT what if you could get UND to come along. Sure no body likes a little brother tagging along but if it would get you in the door I wonder what the Bison faithful would say? IMHO, NDSU needs UND and UND needs NDSU. plain and simple. I think UND might be waiting until 2004 and seeing how or if the NCAA is going to shake up the D1-D1aa-D1aaa's.I just hope by waiting UND is not shooting themselves in the foot.

Jim, I will forgive Terry when Blaiser ties the record w/National Titles in hockey. I can not tell you how I was when Gino was let go. But Deano has eased my pain. (I give Terry a little credit there) I LOVE the new logo but I do miss the "Blackhawk"(old school) I think Terry might be able to help NDSU and UND in the future.But that's another thread on this board. Stinger. Terry learned his lesson as Jim pointed out. Hockey at UND is what football is at Penn State. The ONLY game in town on Fri and Sat during the winter months.

I think we should lend a hand to USD so they can sit next to UND on the fence as we watch NDSU-UNC and see what happens.

bisonguy, I am confused IYHO does NDSU want to be the lone wolf or be a part of the NCC flock? I stated long ago about WSU and Duluth,Crookston teams. If UND would have been beaten by a team w/ 13 scholarships last year the UND camp might be a little more serious about D1aa. Why would the NCC/ D1aa be any different than aNCC/ D2 bid for the post season play?Not everyone IS going to be happy that's the way of the world. There is parody in all sports.Example SCSU was the 13th team in a field a couple of years ago in hockey instead the NCAA gave their spot to a team that sucked.Not to bore you w/hockey. But SCSU were robbed they played stronger teams and deserved the 12th spot. They are over it. I am sure. Oh we just loved Micro Mgr. Terry.
