  1. Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm saying this more to the "too little, too late" people. Maybe he enforced a stricter punishment after the fact once he realized what the guy actually did to Bina. I'm not saying it's right, just trying to speculate why there was a delay in punishment.
  2. Hey, don't park at Denny's, they get really pissed. As if they would EVER fill their parking lot...
  3. Not to stick up for Gwoz or anything, but he had no idea the extent of Robbie's injury during the game. I know that isn't much of an excuse, but maybe he thought it wasn't potentially-career ending? I know the hit was awful, I saw it, it should never be condoned, but it's just a thought.
  4. oh my god, i am laughing so hard at that.
  5. Well, you missed out on my rendition of "Family Tradition!"
  6. He's not going out Gotta have SOME time off.
  7. np, if you have any other questions just PM me.
  8. So you want Old Time Hockey? Like Eddie Shore? Ok that's stupid. I've been seeing that suggested by a few other people and it would never fly. Plus, it is possible to board someone or check them from behind and not f*ck them up horribly. Like in the Bulldogs vs. Vermont game, the 'Dogs took 2 game misconducts for checking from behind (one where the player turned at the last second) and the Vermont players didn't even miss a shift. Oh yeah, that was the same game where 2 'Dogs players were checked from behind and lying on the ice hurt, and NO CALL was made on one hit, and another was just a 2:00 boarding. I think that was the game that ended Ryan Geris's season, too, as he was one of the players hit from behind. Yeah, really fair. Crap. I'd tried to forget about that game. Now I'm all riled up again. Oh, right, my point. Extent of injury shouldn't dictate how severe the penalty is. I mean, do you have to wait to find out what is the real problem? And then what if they reassess? Whatever. Doesn't make any sense to do it that way.
  9. In case you didn't notice, there are plenty of morons who have been posting for awhile who should exercise that kind of restraint. So don't worry about "not knowing enough."
  10. Ew, I hope you're not referring to the Mann's. I used to work there, ugh. I LIVE in SLP (as you can all see) and I'm going to the Park Tavern tonight. PINGO and Karaoke. Come out with me!
  11. I said a small incident, not a gang-bang!
  12. This is the commuter rail line you'll want to take. To get to South Station, take the blue line from the airport (go towards Bowdoin, no matter how tempting it might be to go through the rabbit hole... Wonderland is a slum!) to Government Center, then take the B,C,D or E lines (anywhere NOT headed to Lechmere, basically, although if you feel dirty about it you can avoid getting on the Boston College line) one stop to Park, then take the red line towards Ashmont/Braintree and get off at South Station. Cheaper than renting a car, for sure! And flights to Boston shouldn't be that bad.
  13. That's you. As for me, I don't care how big he is, I'd tell him what I thought, in no short order. This is the reason for a small incident between the Minnesota band and me on Saturday...
  14. Fly in to Boston, take the commuter rail into Worcester. Commuter rail is cheap and fun!
  15. That was you??:D?? On the zamboni? I thought so! That is so awesome. How do you arrange to do that?
  16. BTW, Colorado College absolutely BLEW ME AWAY. They looked so good out there tonight! Partially because the Gophers played like crap. WCCO picked Barry as the #1 star of the game, and he was the player of the game for the Gophs. WHAT? Barry turned the puck over every time he touched the puck. He couldn't get a decent shot on net, if he could even hang on to it long enough to get a shot off. Huge difference between the fans at the early and late games. The early fans (Gopher, Sioux, etc.) were really nice and talked hockey with my bf and me. The late fans were either on their cell phones, drunk and talking about stupid crap, or trying to start a fight with me about the Bulldogs because I was cheering for CC and yelled at Chucko. It's OBVIOUS they didn't care about hockey at all! I mean, it's one thing to be wasted at a game, but another to be wasted and not even paying attention. Or to be rude to other people and not have a single supportive comment to make about your own team. I was totally disgusted by the people we sat near. They were freaking out about the final CC goal (where the goal light mistakenly went on, but then they scored for real a few seconds later.) My boyfriend was trying to explain that turning on the goal light does not stop the play, but they were just screaming at Shepherd. God, Shepherd called a lot of ticky-tack on CC and let a lot go for the Gophs, he was trying to donate the game to the Gophers, but they couldn't even capitalize on that. CC stays with their man, stays in position, and defends well against the oddman rush. I was so impressed! I saw one guy in a chiefs jersey, we yelled at each other about old time hockey and Eddie Shore. I want one of those jerseys.
  17. Sorry about the loss guys, Denver didn't impress any of my group at all. My favorite part of the game was Diggler's boy toy getting his stick stuck in the boards, then falling over trying to pull it out. It was entertaining. I sure hope Robbie Bina is okay, that hit looked so horrible and he was down for so long! I'll be checking in here to find out how he is. Also, I hope Brady Murray is all right. I saw him go off the ice with one arm just hanging, didn't stop to talk to anyone, just ran into the locker room. Compared to Paukovich, I'm guessing Marco Peluso doesn't look so bad anymore... And as much as I find Matt Greene to be annoying, he had a lot of self control in not retaliating for the hit on Bina. He was also right there with him most of the time when the trainer was there. The rest of the team kept their cool, too. I wonder, though, what would have happened if it was 3-1, or 4-1, if there would have been some fights.
  18. It's not so much that I drink Killian's because I thought it was Irish or I was hoping it would be a decent copy. I just drink Killian's because I've never met another beer I like that's commonly on tap.
  19. Yeah!!!!!!!! Killians!
  20. I find if I put the little handcuffs on my fingers, I can just pull them off the tips of my fingers if the key doesn't work, but hey, that's just me.
  21. Little do you know, that's me on bertibm's avatar...
  22. This thread discusses 3 separate sports. And I get flamed for posting 'Dogs scores???? B.S.!
  23. You people are filthy.
  24. Every other year, the other years I got out of school early I know Evidently I'm not sitting even close to anyone at all. I'm in 110 (row 19) on Saturday night and Club 39 on Friday night. I don't have tickets for the day games yet but I will (like they'll sell out!) and I'm not going Thursday. I wish I had a job where I actually knew the schedule IN ADVANCE. Grrr. But if you're looking for me, it's not hard to figure out what I look like.
