  1. I fully expect them to win but I like to go against the grain sometimes.
  2. I'll go with an upset. Bismarck 3 Central 2 ot
  3. My daughter did the same for the same reason. Her goal since she was 6 was to play for the Fighting Sioux. He put an end to that when she had him at a hockey camp when she was 12. Told me you have to get her out of North Dakota. Sound familiar?
  4. She would of went to BC or Minnesota before UND. No need to look any further than the coach at UND.
  5. Mandan and Grand Forks going overtime in the girls semi final game tied at 0. Mandan goalie has now stopped 80 of 81 shots in 2 games.
  6. I'm going to go with RR as well. No way Minot can hang with Central. So like most of us said long ago it will be an all Grand Forks final.
  7. Watched most of that game as I know both coaches real well from my coaching days. Mandan works real hard and that goalie had the game of her life. And she is only a sophomore.
  8. It was appalling and I will leave it at that.
  9. After having a couple of letters forwarded to me via email from a couple parents whose daughter played for Idalski I would be absolutely shocked if he's back. The letters were sent to Faison Can't believe he's lasted this long.
  10. @chranked: More fun with PWR volatility - a win for UND in either its loss to Minnesota or Michigan State would have them at #7 instead of #14
  11. Tournament consolidations have lowered expenses, a necessity because attendance has dropped steadily. The state hockey championship game typically averaged 6,000 fans before 2002, when it attracted a record crowd of 9,191 under a perfect storm of conditions. It was the arena's first year, so there was curiosity. Secondly, the only way to see the game in real time was in the arena because the Olympics were shown live while the game was tape-delayed. And, the championship matched Grand Forks Central and Grafton, teams with big followings. Since then, tournament attendance has declined. "In recent years, the championship game has attracted fewer than 4,000 people," Olson said. "But, all of our tournaments are down. There are fewer and fewer people in rural North Dakota." http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/fewer-state-hockey-tourneys-coming-grand-forks Definitely Minot is not big enough. So nevermind.
  12. And that second sheet of ice at Scheels is much better than the Olympic sized rink at REA. The seating is way better and the boards are lively. They did it right.
  13. I believe 2400. What is the attendance for a state championship game?
  14. Minot will be pushing for it now since they have their new arena up.
  15. I'm with you. The season gets salvaged these next 2 weekends.
  16. Played in that state tourney. Central or RR beat us in the opening round 7-1. That championship game was epic. Both goalies stood on their heads.
