It seems everyone (NCAA, PC folks, etc.) considers UND to be "Outlaws".

A SiouxSports member (Fetch9) wrote the the following piece for RockChalkTalk....Should Kansas Add Division One Ice Hockey?
-
I agree with everything you wrote with the exception of the constitutional authority. According to the ND constitution and the Century Code... I started this thread with the opinion that the SBoHE has control over this issue, not the legislature. I still believe that.

He sure has a lot of insight on the conference dealings. Too bad he isn't here providing it

Where the heck is that guy?
-
You do realize that the only thing I-AA (FCS) is football. Everything else is Division I.
-
Tell that to this guy... This issue has gone on so long that I find it hard to believe that people don't understand the settlement. No written approval from both tribes by November 30, 2010 ----> "Game over" is about as concise as it gets

I see on the Roku website under sports that BYU is listed. Now for what reason, other than money, can't UND set up a channel like BYU? I see USHL has a channel there also.

Alumni Association begins campaign against nicknameGeauxSioux replied to jimdahl's topic in UND Nickname Dahl is choosing not to run for re-election in her UND district. Just guessing, as to he is talking about.

Alumni Association begins campaign against nicknameGeauxSioux replied to jimdahl's topic in UND Nickname The NCAA is now using off-campus venues for men's hockey. Do we know what they will be doing 5 years from now? To say that UND will never host home NCAA mens hockey playoff games is questionable. The women might be in a position to host NCAA playoff hockey this year. UND will likely host NCAA playoff games in football. That is, if UND is removed from sanctions.

Good question. I thought about that one last night. If not available now, maybe they will make it available post Fox College Sports. I'm so far behind the curve on tech.

I know that the Super Bowl was streamed, but are most NFL games streamed now? I know that I can still stream a lot of the Sioux stuff via UNDSports.com, so maybe the FTA isn't worth it for us.
-
My wife and i are discussing dropping our cable and possibly going FTA or just streaming. It just doesn't make much sense to pay that much money to watch less than 10 channels of programming. We just don't have to time to watch that much TV with a houseful of kids anyway. Our TVs are ancient by society's standards, the newest one being 9 years old and neither of them are HD. We do have a blue ray that picks up the wifi, so we are able to stream youtubes and nefflix to our 2000 pound TV. So my questions are do you get anything worth watching, besides Sioux hockey, on the FTA satellite? Has anyone else gone the "streaming only" route? Are there other alternatives? Obviously none this can't happen until after hockey season is over.

I think it is that last bit you mention.

Wanless did a nice job fiscally, but sometimes that doesn't make a lot of friends.

Got to see parts of the game. The first time I turned it on within 2 seconds Rowney scored on the wrap-around. Sioux for a sweep!

If Faison/Kelley hadn't jumped on the Big Sky invite, UND may still be homeless. USD had a huge exit fee from the Summit and big brother, SDSU, calling the shots, hoping to keep the Summit tournament in Sioux Falls. If USD had taken the Summit/MVFC route before UND accepted the offer, would the Big Sky have said backed away?

June 6th... D-day. How appropriate. If there is a certainty that the vote will pass, why would any of these presidents want to "have our back"? I'm hopeful that the SBoHE and AG can head off this train wreck.

A NDSC ruling in favor of the SBOHE could benefit all Higher Ed.GeauxSioux replied to WYOBISONMAN's topic in UND Nickname I believe this "The said state board of higher education shall have full authority to organize or reorganize within constitutional and statutory limitations, the work of each institution under its control, and do each and everything necessary and proper for the efficient and economic administration of said state educational institutions. limits the board from closing an constitutionally provided institution and reorganizing it somewhere else. And I agree with Philly, the contracts clause is probably an easier target.

I have heard it is because it is a conference issue. Just as Minnesota and Wisconsin play UND in hockey. The teams from the two conferences are locked in due to their conference affiliation.
-
I think group 1 resides on this forum. I'm not on the ground to know the extent of group 2. I will point back to my post from last night regarding the constitutional amendment in Florida for pregnant pigs. People will go into a voting booth ignorant and just start checking boxes.
