Since HS sports aren't being covered that heavily right now, I'm not exactly sure what the Herald reporters could be busy doing besides flicking boogers at one another across the newsroom.

There is nothing wrong with the National Association of Marlon Brando Look Alikes becoming more mainstream.

01grad would have to be included too. Anyone who falls all the way down the stairs and tears his hands up at the Old Ralph only to stay for the game deserves some props.

Mario is in the Hall of Fame and still playing, so no. The Barrel Guy at Bronco's games is a legend, as are the Hogettes at Redskin games. I am simply a living legend as I still intermingle with the common folk.

Those jersey cards are another thing. It's bad enough when they are cutting up the jerseys of scrubs, but then they start cutting up jerseys of guys like Bonds. And of course the worst of all was when Upper Deck(?) cut up a Ruth jersey. That is just unspeakable.

Baseball cards are ridiculous now. You look at them and the cheapest pack is $3 for a 10-pack of cards. I used to go to Target and get a 45-pack for $ .99. The packs were clear so you looked on the front and back to see which packs had the best cards visible.

Yep. And it's working about as well as most get rich schemes.

My exact point. I really should complete posts more often. Left wing loony toons aren't the only ones who have problems with nicknames.

I read three pages and Izenberg didn't really say anything. He jumped around and just sort of babbled for a while. He brought up UND, Kupchella, Engelstad, Saigo, Japenesse Internment Camps, The Bisons , and a student at Red River. Through all this he never really seemed to have a point. This is the kind of paper that if I wrote in 9th grade, my English teacher would have written at the end of the paper, "D+. Structure and RESEARCH your thoughts. You bring up many interesting points, but do not support them in any way. The points you bring up appear to be very random. You have one week if you would like to rewrite it."

Hill was absolutely terrible in what I saw of him. Getting sacked, terrible passes and an interception.

I love how this rivalry makes the coaches act like children. It's just a reflection of the whole Grand Forks-Fargo thing. UND asks NDSU if they want to start the rivalry up again and the Bison response is "NO! You acted like poopheads last time, you can't play with my ball anymore!". UND acted similiar when NDSU was going DI. You expect it out of second graders, but when coaches and AD's at colleges do it, it's rather pathetic.

I think UND should keep Bruggeman on part time just for the whole Student-UND-REA contreversy. While students saw many UND/REA people as trying to screw them, I don't think they saw Bruggeman this way. Maybe Bunning will be able to do the same thing though.

I have seen people who want the name to stay suggest compromise. The responses have either been sarcastic or flat out no.

What exactly do they do? Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like the North Dakota Delegation gets elected and then does nothing for 2 or 6 years, then get re-elected and the process repeats.

Nice attitude. It's too late for compromise! I want my way or no way. That's just wonderful.

What about the Blackhawks?

It's a nearly impossible question to answer though. What reason is there to keep any nickname? What if someone wanted to change the Twins name or the Wild? What reason is there to keep those names? Ummm, it's cool?
