  1. What did Harmeson say?
  2. Close, but it's actually Phillip of Nazareth
  3. Bottom Right.
  4. I want that Spokane Indians one. Just replace Spokane with Diggler and get rid of the mohawk/headress! I would be uber popular with the ladies! Looking at many of the costumes on that site, they are just disturbing. They could give Freddy Krueger nightmares.
  5. $#*@. I'm totally screwed! Totally!
  6. Should the NCAA give UND an exemption and UND then proceed to reach a compromise with all the tribes, which I believe they should attempt to do, would you respect that compromise or would you continue to protest the name?
  7. Since when is being questioned equate to being attacked? I must have missed the memo on that. What makes you racist is the words you use to purposely insult others, not your views on the nickname.
  8. Why don't you answer the question instead of being so smug about it?
  9. It is nice how you can throw out the words nazi, rabbit choker and hang around the fort indians, but at the same time complain about people not honoring you. It's also funny that you call a poster HockeyMomwhoteachesherChildrenRACISM, when she has said nothing racist in this discussion as opposed to you and the many terms you have used to insult people who don't agree with you. It is becoming more obvious every day that you don't really care about the name as much as you care about trying to push people's buttons on this issue. Sure you want the name changed, but only so you can dance in your own personal victory and taunt people who don't agree with you.
  10. Just like all the questions asked about what UND can do to honor the Lakota/Dakota/Nakota will never be answered.
  11. That just wouldn't work for oh so many reasons. Anyone know if Hennan will be doing FB games or is he quitting all together?
  12. That stinks. I hope the new PA guy will have some personality. When Hennan hasn't done games, thehis replacement has been blah and boring.
  13. Really? I've been inside for an hour and a half by then. Learn something new every day.
  14. Nope. I have laughed at it though. When any website has this: loses it's credibility on discussing an issue rationally. Actually, I've read a little bit on the BRIDGES website, but since a good number of their links lead to page not found, it is rather difficult to find any answers to my question.
  15. In the segment about the Spirit Lake Resolution, Lynquist says that UND should get rid of the name and find other ways to honor Sioux people. I'm asking what that is. I haven't heard many suggestions of what this could be. It's always change the name and then do some other stuff. My questions is what is the other stuff?
  16. The players/coaches/band come through at about 11 from the south end. Dagwoods is about 1/2 north of the Alerus on 32nd Avenue. It could be very, very loud and probably will be for at least a portion of the game. Once it gets out of hand though with the Sioux pounding whoever they are playing, it'll probably quiet down a bit. So at about the five minute mark of the 1st quarter.
  17. What should UND do to honor Native Americans? Cynthia Lynquist says UND should do this, but provides no suggestions on how UND can do this. This is one of the things that bothers me, many anti-name people have complaints like this but provide no possible remedies.
  18. I'm not saying it would be easy, but if you don't even try it certainly won't happen. I guess I don't see how UND making an attempt to reach out to the tribes could be a bad thing. Should the tribes say screw you, UND can just go about their business and keep the status quo. If the tribes say ok, something could be worked out and UND would have this to support the name.
  19. I don't think UND could get away with a piece of crap appeal like FSU did and still get an exemption. FSU is a big name school and wields much more power than UND, therefore they didn't need to rely on their appeal as much as they could rely on we're FSU and you better not screw with us. UND on the other hand needed a well written and well thought out appeal to get an exemption.
  20. You're dreaming if you think that. Once the exemption is granted, UND should work with the tribes to figure something out. It should be out in the public too, not behind the scenes stuff or we'll just have the same problems occurring over and over again like they are currently.
  21. Problem is that the NCAA didn't get back to UND until last Thursday(?), so they couldn't have filed their appeal much quicker. They couldn't send the appeal to the NCAA before they wrote it.
  22. So does this mean GK wasn't at the meeting or he would have known this? Shocking!
  23. As opposed to those POSER SIOUX who stand up for the name. Damn Hang Around the Fort Sioux and double damn those non-Sioux rabbit chokers.
  24. I believe he is a math teacher, not a history teacher. He taught them basic things and answered their questions like how to pronounce the word Sioux. Why? Because they asked him questions about it. He's never claimed that he was a expert on the subject. Perhaps you should read all his posts on the subject rather than just one. And no I'm not following you around. I was on this board and saw posts by you and thought I would respond. Silly me thinking that is what this board was meant for.
  25. You have a really poor attitude. Anyone who disagrees with you, you have to attack. You certainly aren't reflecting very well upon the people who want to change the name but remain civil. You don't know cheeringfromcali, so why would you assume what he taught his students? Simply because he disagrees with you, he knows nothing? That's am incredibly narrowminded school of thought. You certainly wouldn't have taught the students much more then he could have because you would have spent the entire time telling them how uneducated they were. Instead of attempting to educate them, you'd just chastise them for being naive 7th graders.
