  1. Goal!!! Is it still too late?!
  2. At least they weren"t shut out... just over two minutes left.
  3. Scanlon, "There's still time..."
  4. Ever the optimist... must be the drink!
  5. Portwood knew he f'ed up there with that hit on Toews...
  6. What did they show his record to be thus far... 11 wins, 30+ losses?
  7. They gotta do something with this 5 on 3...
  8. Another Sioux PP... what can they do with this?
  9. Another Sioux PP coming up... what can they do with this?
  10. Spending a lot of time in their zone with nothing to show for it... yet.
  11. 1st Sioux PK for the game against the #1 PP in the WCHA... crap
  12. I had the worst time trying to register (attempting four or five times) but eventually got it. Wish I could offer more help...
  13. I don't remember those particular sticks being mentioned in Brad's article about the hockey sticks the other day!
  14. Let's capitalize on the PP Sioux!
  15. I had the exact same problem when I wanted to get on it several weeks ago. After I registered I had to close out my internet explorer and get back on... which it then worked. Hope that helps...
  16. Obviously we all wish for a better start but I think we are seeing some improvement (we've seen some this weekend) that will progress as the season continues... hopefully not too late to make it count for the post season. A question that I'm sure someone can educate me on (I know there have been posts on it in the past) but there aren't anymore Blais recruits left correct? How much of the team are Hakstol recruits? The reason I ask is because I think with the Hasktol recruits coming in the program, the true and full effect of the coach will be realized in the next few years. With that in mind... I think we will be seeing some great things.
  17. I had asked earlier and was still wondering if anyone knew that the native signers and drummers would be members from the Standing Rock and/or Spirit Lake tribes? Could the tribe themselves (RHHT, leaders, etc.) put a stop to that? I suppose if they couldn't, they would probably just state that they are not actually representing the tribe(s). Thanks.
  18. Would the native signers and drummers be from the Standing Rock and/or Spirit Lake tribes? If so, how will that play out with the anti-nickname squad? Could the tribe themselves (RHHT, etc.) put a stop to that? I think this something like this could've/should've been done awhile ago. However; I'm not sure this will make a difference in the overall scheme of things. Sure throws a curve into the question/debate of if/when the nickname goes away.
  19. The Fighting Sioux logo was rated in the top forty of The Hockey News logo rankings. They will now be whittling the rankings down to 16 this September 9th. The Sioux is currently running to move on into the next round (per THN rules...) So if you got the time (if you're reading this you probably got the time... what else do you have to do!)... Come on, they called us "rabid fans!" Vote for the North Dakota Fighting Sioux logo to be the best logo in hockey. Drop the puck already!
  20. The Hockey News placed their logo rankings for the ECAC-WCHA-AHA today. Take a look and vote for the next two months. Something to do to kill time before the season starts... http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/1756...o-Rankings.html Go Sioux!
  21. It won't be until sometime in the fall. I have had season tickets to College Hockey at the Joe for the last 4 years and they never ask me to renew until October. There are always plenty of tickets available for the GLI and you will not have problems getting them. Always open seats in the lower bowl corners and scattered throughout. Plenty of openings in the upper bowl. Obviously you get the best tickets the earlier you order them but never too much of a problem getting into the games at the last minute (unless UM plays MSU for the championship... then there might be an issue). I know there are a lot of season ticket holders in my section (UM and MSU fans alike) looking forward to the Sioux coming in for the tournament. They've had some great teams invited in the recent past, BU, BC, Colorado College and of course UND in 2001 (who all, by the way, won the championship game). Can't wait for the season and can't wait for GLI to see the Sioux!!
  22. Wow... not getting enough sleep? Relax... Reading this thread, I believe everyone that has posted thinks there can and should be some changes at REA (not going to rehash them). I don't see any particular need to jump down someone's throat. If I recall correctly, I thought I saw a . Get it... a . So get some sleep, relax a little and it will all be okay...
  23. Thank you for another exciting year! Each and every year the boys always give us something to cheer about and at times something to complain about. But after its all said and done, I don't think any Sioux fan would want it any other way. Live and die with Sioux. All the best to those who will leave and to those who stay. Looking forward to another year of Sioux hockey and it can"t come soon enough!
  24. I would like to consider myself as much as a Sioux fan as any one else on this board and I would be the first to say I'm not the most knowledgable person on this board. I do more "listening" and "learning" on this board than posting threads (or try to). My kids play the game, I'm learning how, and I'm amazed as the skill and ability it takes for these gentlemen to play the game (now that I'm learning how, I'm more amazed, this hockey s**t is not easy to do!). If I lived in the vicinity of Grand Forks, I know I would be there, regardless of a win or lose record. Why? Because they are the Fighting Sioux and I'm a fan. I understand being ticked off as a result of Thursday's performance (I sure as hell was) and to vent fustration, but to bash them is senseless. If you're a Sioux and you have the opportunity to be there when they do Fan Appreciation night, you just gotta go... Forever a Sioux fan!
