  1. You can hear the "Let's Go Sioux!" cheers!
  2. I now see you all knew about the Michigan Tech feed -- just got through the game thread from last night. Sorry about repeating information. Unfortunately, I forgot that there wouldn't be a time difference last night for me so missed the first 2 periods of play and didn't keep up with the thread. That was a fast game last night!
  3. Someone posted this on the USCHO Board, but Michigan Tech is streaming the game (video) for free: http://www.michigantechhuskies.com/huskiesradio.html From the looks of the USCHO board comments, it's not perfect (some people decided to switch to just audio after awhile), but I guess since it's free it might not be a bad thing to try out.
  4. I don't think the Boston accent would be a stereotype.
  5. Here's couple quotes from today's Boston Globe about the World Jr.'s, Zach and the Boston Bruins' choices during last year's draft.
  6. It looked to me like even he laughed a little bit when he looked up at the screen and saw the "Kiss Cam" sign above him and the other player (I forgot the name) who was in the box with him.
  7. Back to the natural hat trick in one period thing .... I, unfortunately, thought right away about Brian Gionta's feat against Maine when he was a senior. Five goals in the first period (on 5 shots) without any intervening goals from any other player. http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20010127&vi...ome=bc&gender=m Have to admit that was amazing. (Of course, I'm partial to Bochenski so think pretty-much everything he does on the ice is amazing. He must just pull the trigger so much faster than expected so the goalie has no idea it's on the way or where it's going. Last night, the goalie just kept looking around for the puck after Brandon shot it and seemed like he didn't know what hit him.)
  8. PCM, were you the one who arranged to have the Gold Medal game video tribute played at the Ralph before the game? That was great -- I wonder if the guys had seen it before. It was also nice to see the guys skate on the ice with their gold medals after the video was over. You couldn't tell on Dataflix how loud the applause was, but I'm sure the guys were touched.
  9. I'd love to, but am not sure where I could put it (or if it's allowed in my lease)! (I rent an apartment right in town ...)
  10. Sorry -- I don't think I'll be much help beyond what I already said. I can supersize on the "REA site" (with the green border) as you've called it by clicking that tab. I don't see the "normal" screen that you see for the windows media or real player. Sorry I can't help. Anyone else have ideas?
  11. Hit "Supersize Video" -- the white tab under the screen to the right of play and pause.
  12. I just returned from watching the UMass - BU game at Walter Brown. UMass won 2-1. Stephen Werner played in all three periods and assisted in both of the UMass goals. The BU fans (the few that were there) gave him a nice little cheer of acknowledgment during the starting line-up. I was glad to see Werner was able to play as much as he did so soon after returning from Finland. Hopefully, it will be the same for our guys (especially with a few "extra" days in there to rest). BTW, before the game, a friend of mine was talking to a couple of the construction workers for BU's new arena. One of the guys was boasting that the new arena was going to be really nice, and "probably the best one in the country." I tried hard not to burst his bubble (he's been working hard; it's frigid cold out there today), but had to straighten him out a little. I mean, BU's arena I'm sure will be fantastic, but .... I'm sure this guy never expected to be within earshot of a native North Dakotan!
  13. Well, that's no good. The first link I posted didn't work, either, when I checked it. So, the second time I posted a slightly different address than I used the first time. Here it is again. Click on "LISTEN HERE" to the right of the picture (dah -- sorry, I know you know that): http://www.usahockey.com/usa_hockey/04worldjrs/04worldjrs/ Hopefully, it works for you this time!
  14. You're welcome. I've already watched it several times .... If I could also make another suggestion -- if you didn't listen to the playing of the Star Spangled Banner after the game, go to the USAhockey.com site and click on the archived audiocast. Go to the very, very end (at about 3:07 or so) -- you may have to listen to a few minutes of talk first (but it's not boring -- most of it is about GF and next year's tournament), but then the National Anthem is played. You can hear the players just belt out the song. I've listened to that a few times, too! (Here's the link: http://www.usahockey.com/usa_hockey/04worldjrs/04worldjrs/ ). {EDIT: For some reason, my original USAhockey.com link didn't work, so I'm trying it again...}
  15. Too bad the Ralph couldn't do a little video snippet like what they did for the UMD game when the UMD players were sent to the penalty box. Only this time it could be a little montage comparing what the Seawolves did over Christmas break (sat in front of the TV eating Big Macs) versus what the Sioux did (won the Subway Classic, and took 3 points from St. Cloud), and of course also highlighting what the three Sioux players and their teammates did at the World Jr.'s. (Or, you could personalize it and compare Zach's Christmas break to Chris F.'s... There could be a little story within the story -- you know, Golden Arches, Gold Medal...)
  16. I don't know if anyone's posted this here, but someone did on the USCHO board. (It was originally posted on Hockey Future's message board by the guy from Kingsmediazone.com who produced it). It's a video tribute of the Championship Game -- set to music, etc. It's good (music choice could have been better, but I think a Canadian made it ). http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=41250
  17. Yup, I think you're right. On the USCHO article, Mike is quoted, then several paragraphs down they mention Patrick feeding a cross-ice pass, and then several paragraphs down from that is the "Eaves'" quote we're talking about. I guess I saw the mention of Patrick with his pass, so thought it was his quote. I think I'll stick to last names from now on...
  18. And, we can't forget: [Three signs held next to each other] Sioux Nation: Land of the Free Home of the World's MVP
  19. This may be lame, but you never know what someone else might be able to do with the concept, at least. (It has nothing to do with Big Macs or Chris F. -- sorry). See Zach Shoot. See Zach Score. Sea Wolves Cry. (Or Sea Zach Shoot. Sea Zach Score. Sea Wolves Cry).
  20. Doing some searching myself, it looks like there's a bunch of similar quotes. One of Ralph's mottos was: "The harder you work, the luckier you get." But, a lot of other people used the same one (or very similar ones). I'm not sure who is credited with saying it, or something like it, first. In any event, WAY TO GO, USA!!!! Are any of you Grand Forkers going to meet Zach & Co. at the airport???
  21. This is a quote from the USCHO article. Could it be that Patrick Eaves is trying to quote Ralph?
